They are a pair of sweeties, I havent seen them with other dogs. Be warned though, the shelter girls are very possessive of their Chi's so it would be highly unlikely that they would allow them to travel interstate. You may just have to admire them from afar  -

Thankfully these little guys are not in a pound, they are safe at the shelter. Just spreading the word to help their new home find them. Someone out there is their new family, but they just dont know it yet. :D -

No it doesn't make sense. You are saying that you disagree with what you have been told by people here about running a responsible greyhound rescue. You don't want to follow laws and are not afraid of being sued if you don't follow best practice? You want to antagonise people who cross you? Why would you expect us to believe you can be responsible about rescue at all? PR is involved. That says enough about the situation. edit. spelink

Lets throw in some free parvo and a free trip to the emergency ward if the dog turns out to be unsafe. Yeah!!! Merry Christmas.

Is Anyone Online Who Has Access To The Nsw Car?
gillbear replied to gillbear's topic in General Dog Discussion
I know it is illegal. As usual i simply give the chip numbers and my contact details. The owners ring me direct without me being given their info. All sorted now. Max and Jessie who recently moved here from sydney were picked up a few minutes ago. I am "blessed" with a group of neighbourhood kids who have formed a "lost pet finding club" so I get regular temporary visitors. -

Does Anyone Have A Pet Who Had To Have A Leg Amputated?
gillbear replied to Michelleva's topic in General Dog Discussion
I had a foxie foster who a broken back leg as a baby that was never treated. As a result she couldnt use it and it wasnt fixable by the time she came into care. She was used to only being on 3 legs so her mobility was improved as soon as she was out of the anesthetic. She was amazing to watch and could outrun all of my other dogs. It was an easy trouble free recovery. That said if Destiny's infection issues have cleared up she still may have a chance of recovery. Years ago we had a kitten that was hit by a car and sustained fractures. He also showed nerve damage with his toes of one foot curled under and alot of wastage. He was kept inside. the foot was padded at times to protect the skin on the top of his foot. Slowly over about 6mths his use returned and he regained full use of the leg. So there are a couple of examples of either choice. I wouldnt hesitate to amputate if that is what is needed, it really depends on her injuries and individual circumstance. -

another vote for choosing the most suitable animal. I volunteer at the local RSPCA shelter, which seeing as I am not a supporter of the RSPCA surprises people. I am there for the animals in my area NOT to support the RSPCA as an organisation. Even the shelter manager knows this as i regularly voice my option on RSPCA stupidity while i am there

not really. Money is in reality a real consideration for many. Just because someone is looking for a cheaper alternative, doesnt mean that the passing will be any less heartfelt or done with less respect or sorrow. I have had dogs that have been group cremated, individually cremated or buried. It came down to what was the right decision for me and my animal at the time.
-
no, I paid more than that for my 4kg boy this year. Edit: not really appropriate as my cost was a private cremation and return of ashes. last i checked locally the cost was approx $50 on top of euthanasia cost for a group cremation.

Did this assessment include interaction with other dogs or was it just the behaviourist.
