Not nervous and wees only on the way back home. What a strange problem. I thought I had heard it all, but your GSD has me pondering.

I initially stop all movement by holding the article, still against my legs, with my arms outstretched. Depending on the dog, reassuming the game timing, I feel is important. Some dogs need their brains to catch up with their excitement.

Question please. As a dog exhales, how impaired is their scenting ability? Was reading a book, in bed today while suffering from the flu which indicated very little loss of function.

Good post. But we all play with our dogs when pups and youngsters, don't we? Depending on our terminology and requirements we never stop playing with them, after all is not most dog sports games? The most fun games my dogs do, luckily their interests marry with mine, :rolleyes: , is retrieving. To go back to the original question, there are many reasons why the posters GDS do not like games. If games do not switch these dogs ON, food maybe better. Julie - who dog'ss dance with me when I switch music on. We also dance as a team at retrieving trials, they better than me, sometimes. We all love rock and roll and upbeat music.

I would simply try food as the reward or reinforcer, for training. Whatever works best. By the sounds of it, your GSDs for whatever reason, do not sound as though "toys" would be the "best".

Laffi, books have their place. After all, I have quite a library. Have you been to a retriever trial yet? The reason I ask, is that from a practical sense, the books/theory may make more sense. And remember there are many ways to skin a cat, not only the different methods.....but the exercises/concepts required to teach.

May I add: If you do decide to join a club, I suggest not entering a class, until Wilbur displays little reactivity. Just bum around and watch and do a little obedience on your own. If he reacts to dogs while walking about the burbs, obedience class will more than likely cause unnecessary stress on him, let alone you.

Another weight (chicken) on my shoulders.........no way. Pavlov/Skinner are already too heavy. One becomes smaller as the other grows - love that section in DVD one.. With other trainers I value highly, I can hardly raise my arms. LOL.

A couple of dog friends dropped in today and we naturally discussd training. I mentioned I thought my dogs were sensitive. My friends laughed. Rather hysterically in fact. As per usual, my terminology is very different - related to retriever trial/training lingo.

First viewing.......completed. At least nearly......business plan segment playing. Not relevant to me, I spend money on the dogs. I highly recommend this DVD, not only for those who employ a clicker as a marker. The chicken performing a short agility course!!! The duck playing a piano!!!

It was a canine anatomy and physiology book i am after - not something to many people are interested in. Cool. My books are on their way. My dogs are ready for more massages.

Cute as a button. Dog looks so happy. I loved watching the clip. Thanks. Remember - try to think like a dog. Dogs are experts as reading our bodies...........try to give body movement (legs, arms, hands, shoulders -signs in turns, stopping etc. What is he like with distractions? Adored the tail.

I like sensitive dogs. Soft on the other hand - can be on someone else's couch.

Sounds to me, like atopic dermatitis. Wonder if the canine skin specialist will suggest Cylocysporin?. This drug was the only one that helped our case. Very expensive, but worth it. Poor chronically itchy dogs. I would not wish severe atopic dermatitis on my worst enemy.
