I hope Boof's operation goes smoothly and he recovers quickly and comfortably :)

Sorry, I don't mean a veterinary behaviourist, I mean a trainer/behaviourist. This is something I'm interested in doing anyway.
-
I think I'm just going to spoil him silly
-
Yes it is, thanks :) Sometimes it's hard for me to know how I think/feel about something.
-
You know what? I'm not ready. Thank you everyone for your help :)

Sorry, I didn't see this. My computer is doing weird things. I do want another one but for some reason I feel guilty about it. eta I'm not sure how I feel actually. I have a whole lot of different feelings about the idea, but this thread is helping. Thank you :)

Okay, thank you. Maybe I should get my Pug's temperament assessed by a behaviourist first? I think we're similar in personality, but I find it hard to assess him because I'm so close to him.

Oh dear, I didn't look at who posted them - silly me. They are so beautiful. Haha, don't worry :)
-
The ones I posted? Yes, I love older Pugs.
-
This is really helping me already. Thanks guys :)

I totally understand and empathise, but I can guarantee that if getting another dog is the right thing to do and it makes your dog happy, nothing will surpass your happiness at seeing your dog happy.  I don't know if you've ever been involved in rescue or fostering, but the day you see a fostered or adopted dog finally at ease and playing with one of the other dogs is just the best. I stress that this is my experience - we are all different :) :) Thank you, that really makes sense.
-
That is a good point. Thanks for the well wishes :)

I see what you mean, thanks. I think he would love it but I'm not sure how I would feel about it. I feel selfish saying this, but I want him to myself because our time together is relatively short and who knows what's going to happen with his cancer... But at the same time I want him to be happy.
-
I would like to get another Pug but, because my Pug is recovering from cancer, I'm not sure if I should: a) Get another one now(ish). b) Wait until he has been in remission for 12 months. c) Wait until he has gone over The Bridge*. I'm not sure if having a Puggie friend would be good for him or if it would make him unhappy and stressed. Also, I think I would have to get a mature Pug. I don't think he would cope with a puppy. What do you think? eta *Sorry, that didn't come out right. You know what I mean

Oh, I just got it. The heat has melted my brain. "Ess & Don"

Preparing For Next Weeks Severe To Extreme Heat...

One day I can handle but a few days in a row makes me cranky. I'm going to buy another portable air conditioner for next summer (mine died). I'm not going through this again! -

It's only after nine and it's already 27 degrees inside. One more degree and it's time for another shower with the Pug. -

Another unbearably hot night tonight and I can't sleep. (And tomorrow's going to be ridiculously hot.) At least I got to see the moon and Venus in the sky together... My Pug bought a dead rat inside 30 minutes ago. One of those ginormous, country-sized rats. That's how I got to see the moon and Venus, while disposing of the rat. Time for a shower with the Pug I think. -
Nawww, they're all so sweet

Haha, what a p*sser

Best/ Worst Dog Treats And Chews

I stay away from smoked bones, rawhides and what was the other one? Oh yeah. Dentastix. -
That's a good idea, thanks (using the make-up pad). My Pug runs away when he sees the Epi-Otic.
