Dog On Human Medication $439 Per Fortnight
Scottsmum replied to Brooker's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My vet will happily write a script for most medicines you can get from the chemist. I know shes not alone. It usually reads: "Scottie (My surname) DOG" Medicine name Dose FOR ANIMAL USE ONLY. She wont do it for antidepressants but will for most things she wont dispense often or you need urgently. I do know another vet who will do it for Prozac & Valium so i suppose it depends on the vet. Id be asking for a script in this case so you can chemist shop. Id explain its simply a cost cutting exercise. You cant claim it on medicare. -
Having adopted an oldie myself & having a soft spot for bkues Ill admit this made me cry. Hugs to your family.

Aldi had trampoline beds again last week. Smll, med & Lrg all $20. My local still has some. I grabbed one so it can stay boxed up for the move.

Thank god old fussy pants happily eats it in a mince ball!

Scottie & i are using it. I have 3 slipped discs & desication in the neck as well as other horse riding related injuries & it just makes my "less ouchy". I dont notice much difference in him, occasionally he seems more stiff if he misses a dose. But I continue to give it to him as it helps me / i feel better so assume he dies too & its more cost effective than anything else ive tried.

How To Tell If My Dog Is Going Deaf?
Scottsmum replied to Lady Flying Furball's topic in General Dog Discussion
Guins ultimate test was liver treats in a Tupperware container.... the day she dudnt come tearing through the house we knew she was deaf. We reverted back to hand signals, clapping to get her attention (sone situations only ) stomping & touching her bed or knocking on something to wake her up (never touching until she was aware we were there or a bit more awake) or get her attention & spent 3-4 years living quite easily like this. -
*swoon* such a happy & distinguished gentleman.

He'd run like that all day, every day if i let him. tail wagging the whole time.

She's lovely

Set boundaries. You dont expect humans to share beds & acceot annoying children do you? Give tgem some personal space & some rules to follow (which can always be broken occasionally) & you'll have a happier life. Otherwise you'll likely be back in 12 months saying "help my 2 dogs cant be in the same room ... ever".

New "dibs" Dog Food With Fish Oil & Turmeric
Scottsmum replied to snoopy69's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
It will be interesting to see what you think WM. I don't notice much difference in Scottie but I also take it myself and do feel better on it - which is why I give it to him still - I would have probably given up by now if I wasnt feeling it. Hope it works for Mac & crew. -
Smart Mumma - already multitasking. ;) They're very cute.
