Why not leave a pair somewhere obvious & maybe cue it "1 and 2" or "and the other one" Scottie would go mwntal if i jackpotted with a walk. He loves "shooooooes" it gets a better reaction than "walkies"

I always give scottie the cheapest, fattiest, plain youghurt i can get. I mean the super tart, super cheap old fashioned greek. A small tub does him about 7 days - approx 1 tablespoon a day. He's about 10 kilos. Interestingly enough I'm "lactose sensitive" & i find i can *just* get by on small amounts of dairy if i apply that rule (only to sour cream & yoghurt - i dont risk it with other kinds of dairy) and apply same to him. Plus, I think the amount would be negligible in an iceblock.

Maybe .... ;) Ha ha jokes. I do agree, just not pre-coffee. After a week sleeping on an air mattress. After a night with a foxie firmly wedged up my bum ... cause ... ya know... he was comfy there... How does something only 40cm tall and 10 kilos take up do much room?

And again in the news. Not Dave as such, but the in laws (*ex in laws?) Any hoo... same property ...

Just for fun... Mine is "where's your monkey" which will result in any soft squeaky toy being retrieved from where ever the hell it was last left and pushed on to you. Current fav "monkey" is a 50 cent reindeer from last years post xmas sales which is always carefully and lovingly looked after. Not torn limb from limb like all other plush toys. Such a good way to distract him when I'm trying to have a coffee in peace.

Re iceblock: A bit of yoghurt? Some tinned fish (tuna) & juice. Our current one is/was dry food + small dehydrated roo bits. The bonus with that was the dehydrated treats sunk & the kibble floated so there was stuff at top & bottom & when it melted Scott spent hours snuffling up roo treats from the grass. & for what its worth: tetra packs (poppa size for us) work well as scottie can pick it up in one go & trot around with it.

Ah. Not quite. He got a one way ticket to nz! He got some replacement toys the other day & a b.a.t.h after sneaking out to play in the mud the other day. Today we went & explored our new river walk. Lots to sniff. :)

While I agree, accidents do happen. I think one of the worst parts of this scenario is his poir attitude. Im so glad wags' owner had the strength to fight him on this. Accidents happen but poor management leads to a lot of accidents. After Wags was killed and the other stories started coming out, a reporter went to interview Dave and do a story on it and yet another dog escaped while the cameras were running. It was only caught because people were right there when it happened. Absolutely. Agree. Have followed this since Fansu _ the dog who went missing at xmas.

And another one! This stinky little fuzzbutt is just the most incredible dog in the world & I'm so lucky to to have him. This last 12 months have bought lots of stress for him & I but he still makes happy grumble noises & wags his tail - all the time. He's such a lovely, and loved boy. Photos to follow when we have real internet back in our lives.

Rayhay, I'd understand your worry. Coming out of our local Library, I saw a huge Rottie boy alone on the footpath & enjoying freedom. Went back inside & asked if anyone would come help me secure him, as a major road was nearby & there'd be people who'd start screaming. 2 librarians, another lady & me went outside (a couple of men made themselves scarce at the word Rottweiler). I called him to come & he looked at me suspiciously. Then I bent down & said, 'Come on, sweetheart" 'Sweetheart' he knew....& his face lit up & he thundered across to me. Another lady said, 'Can you sit, darling?' And 'darling' sat with a thud on my foot. A librarian went inside & got a piece of string (yes, string) to attach to his collar & he happily trotted into the office with her and lay down while she called the owners from his ID. He was adorable! Oh. Thang dog you found him!

Nah. Its on Facebook - but um sure the raw thread has ideas. If it's just at home i use mince & beef stroganoff strips cut up.

Um. There is a school of thought thay says dogs / wolves shake intestines before consuming it - therefore making the amount negligible. Could be worth popping over to the raw thread & asking if you really want to know. Im far from an aurhority. As for handling raw meat - i often handle it. I usually ask for a few sits, drops etc and just handle his dinner to treat. Edited to add: in last 5 mins ive seen a mod on that page say no fish for cats & no recommending chicken frames for dogs ... might be time to leave that group...

Totally not cool J! But I think he had a glorious time at the park. You're possibly right Steph - but he's an absolute devil for bolting. It's no wonder he found himself in a pound! Any chance he gets to bolt he will. It was really just a chance to take opportunity of the door accidentally opening.
