  1. Happening right now on FB. I'm staying out of it. A bit further on: Seriously. You can't make this shit up...What the F do they think they're going to do after Dr Google diagnoses the problem?
  2. It does come in a slightly larger bag too - but not much more. I think it's 7 kg. But totally get your point:/
  3. Did I see a photo of yours on another thread?
  4. http://www.vippetfoods.com.au/product/natures-goodness-grainfree/
  5. I do pretty much the same with rice flour and tinned mackerel from Woolies. Mix into a dough, roll thin, cut into small bits and bake in a moderate oven until golden in colour. You can freeze them, or they will keep in a biscuit tin for weeks. Most dogs love them! My cats will also filch them when they can LOL Interesting. I might try this... So just rice flour and tinned mackerel ? What kind of quantity? I imagine one 400ish gram tin - liquid removed.
  6. No - no dryer. I was buying a fish jerky for a while which needed to be kept in the fridge....
  7. Yeh - that always gives me a belly laugh. They can be such delightfully silly creatures.
  8. Few months ago Scottie got up - it was late - like almost midnight. Goes out. Is gone for ages. Comes in, peeks around the corner - sees me. Backs up & goes outside. Comes back 5 minutes later. Leaves & comes back again 5 minutes later. Turns out he had a black gross bone he was trying to sneak in. I don't think he thought I'd *still* be there after 3 tries. I ended up confiscating it.
  9. I used to make a treat with baby food & wheat germ. Would not feed it these days as it was basically wheat (and well - Scottie is grain free) but also ... Thought I'd try my hand at making liver treats. It would be great if I could get them to be a bit softer - more like ziwipeak in consistency. Would use them as little thank yous for my walking clients - and as treats on walks (provided I have the owners OK). I currently treat with Ziwipeak - which is fine for one dog but not many more - id go broke :) Fav recipes? Tips? Comments?
  10. Um, Maddy that's really dreadful, stressful for you and bloody horrible for that poor dog, but that last bit did make me LOL
  11. Good luck. Keep us updated & of course - photos?
  12. ^ ^ ^ This is me, exactly! Same here - Need a bit of a break from it but its compulsory for uni this semester :/
  13. I'd probably shorten Secret - not sure what to - but because of that I vote Inky - which would obs. shorten to Ink and other cute variations well.
  14. LOL - Denali - I think you have your quotes / threads mixed up :) Regarding this thread - I dumped a heap of pages the other week - all raw feeding, all natural care, all adoption and rescue, a lot of foody pages. It's been great - and funnily enough I went back to one - which I had only unfollowed and - I've already got in a spat this morning over desexing. Best thing about it? Pages which had been buried by FBs algorithm are popping back up in my feed and i'm seeing stuff Ive not seen in ages
  15. Oh. That must be so hard for you. I bet, in your heart of hearts you know what you need to do. I often find myself looking at adoption and puppy pages but I know we're a one dog family for now and for the foreseeable future. My point being - I think almost everyone here wishes and looks at puppies with aching ovaries (or what ever the male equivalent is) from time to time but we also know our limits. Don't let Marcus 'bully' you into anything you don't think is right for you or your beautiful pups. Inky will find a good home elsewhere if that's what you think is best for you and her. You've spoken here before about not wanting the stress of another pregnancy / whelping bitch & you know that's a condition. Good luck making your mind up - that would be such a tough choice.
  16. Scottie must be quite special. Even chicken necks are worth the effort. That photo in the OP - was the result of burying a frozen patty ...
  17. Scottie is the first dog I've ever had who isn't a massive pig - so by extension the first in a long time, possibly also the first, Dad's had.
  18. Good to hear you've got a good vet there. Sending positive vibes to you & her.
  19. In short: It's an old dads tale. Worse than an old wives tale.
  20. Um... Scottie expects it to be there. A magpie stole some heart and liver once and he was mortified when he went back to get it. Was very funny. He was also a bit perplexed when he buried an iceblock one day last summer... Lucky he's beautiful.
  21. If you look closely you can see his - a pale white spot just above the black. I can't say I remember others specifically doing it or not. Guinea buried things - usually stolen items. Never food. Food was always quickly consumed. I'd have never questioned it if Dad hadn't mentioned it.
  22. Hey All, Here's something I've wondered about ever since it was said to me. Love opinions on it. Scottie buries his food. I don't think it's a case of being over fed - he pretty much does it with ANY meat or bones he's given. But Dad, who's owned dogs his entire 65+ years once said to me that it's unusual for dogs to do it - usually only bitches bury food. So... What's what do you think? What have you observed over the years? or is there evidence to back this up or is my dear old dad talking out his bum ;) Ps - piccie of mr brown nose himself - just cause I can. IMG_3556 (3) by Superspanger, on Flickr *Oh -yeh that's the other thing - he's not very good at burying things and really just noses it around and covers it in a bit of dirt and grass. Silly puppet.
