  1. Yes! I love your Mal puppy spam! I blaze & Wiz. But we don't get to see enough Venom these days.
  2. A lovely post. Could not agree more. how cruel and distressing to the dog Yep - when we went through *kind of* similar with our last senior - we moved her INTO our bed so we could feel her fussing and take down for the loo. We went to the effort of quickly teaching our "new senior" (adopted at 10 years) the "go do wees" command to help with night time toileting. To the original poster - It can be done. It can be managed. I think if you guys are sharing sleeping downstairs to help your pup out - you're unlikely to leave him to 'cry it out' but in case the thought does cross your mind - please dont. Our seniors, especially, deserve a bit of fuss. there will be always people who feel better if they can force their pets into dependencies ...and there will be always people who prefer leaving their animals some dignity... Eta: ...spelling... To each their own. It was that, have her fall down the stairs or live out her life crying in a cold laundry at nights. Trust me, Foxies wrapped in doonas have no concept of dignity. They're the most undignified animals I've ever seen when a human bed is involved. Powerlegs has supplied some fantastic sounding information. To the original poster - I have lived with a senior terrier who was unable to get up and down the stairs - You're welcome to message if me you'd like to chat. Good luck with your pup. I think the senior years are wonderful. Challenging but really wonderful. So good we signed up to do it again by adopting a senior. Otherwise, I'll leave it at that for this thread.

  4. Or maybe we're in for a Goat-zilla style twist
  5. I'd suggest that too. Any chance of trying to re-set his little body clock a bit so he doesn't need a night time poo? OR Can you get up at set times and take him out to toilet? We kind of do that with our 12 year old. He goes out to wee very last thing. If we hear him up at all I get up and let him out, if I get up for myself I also take him out for a wee. Hubby opens the door first thing around about 6am. Usually he looks at me like are you crazy it's 4am and freezing but he also goes out pretty often. Fortunately (maybe that's unfortunately) the only times mine poos at night are if he's off in the belly. If you know your guy is pooing between certain times maybe you could get up on the hour at those times and take him out - eg if he seems to poo around about 3am - I'd get up at 2.30 and again at 3 and again at 3.30 if he's still not pooed by that time. No need to get up extra times if he poos first time. Sounds like he wants to do the right thing.
  6. Scottie digs on the carpet and couches when he's stressed.
  7. reminds me of a roo :) Tiny ittle, itsy, snuggly, dainty Kangaroo.
  8. Lord she's just the bees knees. Far too cute. Might pop into the IG thread & get a bit more of a hit- I don't tend to look- didn't realise there were babies in there
  9. well fingers crossed for them all. Be interesting to see how the other Bipsy babies grow.
  10. Gosh. Those photos of her in the shirt are too cute - but holy cow she's tiny isn't she? What's the standard? Is Mr. Fatty-boomba Spyder going to be too big?
  11. Good to hear the lumps are taken care of. So scary. More scary then being swooped by a fantail in your own lounge room....
  12. darn - I totally forgot to add mackrel and rice flour to the shopping.... darn darn darn
  13. I was hoping it was more like - and over here the fox terriers ONLY can make tea... ;) and anyway - what ever - Scottie can't even eat wheat so he doesnt even like toast.
  14. 14. This naughty little bugger comes and goes from the house as it (?) pleases. I'm really worried 'he'll' hurt itself one day. Chases bugs in, gives me attitude. We have windows you lock open with a vertical bar - he's taken to perching on them and window hopping from room to room. So the alternate is to not open the window or leave it crack it - which creates a "OHS" risk for us. But even if the windows aren't open - he just comes and goes through the back door. Scottie just wags his tail at him. We attract idiot animals. IMG_3578 (2) by Superspanger, on Flickr
  15. Yep, my local BSS pages are horrid, they make me want to pull my hair out. Particularly all the 'Anyone have any free kittens?' posts. God knows what happens to those poor little mites. I think I'll leave the groups soon, before I go mad. I managed to get pets banned from one of my local BSS pages. Someone posting a white & fluffy - profile photo was of a kid - in a school uniform from an area about an hour away, photos all over the profile of a bit burley staffy type - but the fluffy had to go "due to a change in circumstances". When I said "hey - we're in Marrickville and your photos show you (or your kids?) in Blacktown school uniforms - what's the deal? why are you posting here - not locally" they got really defensive - then of course the usual people chimed in and suggests a Rescue Group, or make sure the dog is desexed before re homing and it got really nasty - threats of violence - if we ever see you on the street we'll punch your F-ing stupid head in & so on. Long story short - that was the end of pets on that particular page...
  16. Nah. Or wasn't 12 months ago. You're thinking of a slightly different one. Glen Kovac https://www.facebook.com/PetershamVets/ As I said - they've cared for pets in my family for at least 16 years. But only suggesting as they're local and I've used them. Not from a weim or big dog point of view. and they def. loose points for having locums on Sundays - but hey - you gotta have a break sometimes.
  17. And another from the same thread.
  18. This came up on facebook and made me laugh. Also I'll now have the terrible song in my head for at least a week.
  19. I lived in Marrickville and Benny always looked like a good option. We used Petersham vets (sometimes listed as Pet vets) - Glen was great and looked after us, and my Aunts dog before us for well over 16 years. My biggest gripe with them was there was they used locums on Sundays and I almost always ended up there on the weekend. I also know someone with Weims who uses Zammit - but it is a hike. For a while before we swapped to Glen at pet vets we were driving back out to Dundas but it was just too hard in an emergency or for something little. So after our old dog passed we found a new vet - which is how we settled on Glen. So ends the story of Scottsmums vet history.
  20. We're still going with the "shaky pitty" Someone with the same surname has suggested "he just needs to visit his nanny" someone else has chimed in and said my dog "had that took 3500 to find out I just had to feed him fk all meat and lots bickies"
