Hi Peter, Great topic :) I also vote short hair - My mum and her partner spend up to 8 weeks a year (in one block) holidaying with their Dachshund. She loves it - but they do worry sometimes as she gets a bit too much attention - they're worried she'll get pinched. But she is bold and not scared of protecting her domain. She also spends a lot of time going to camp drafts and other horsie events - so she's a seasoned traveler. I think the recommendation of a show dog has merit too - we adopted a fox terrier type from the pound and he's awesome in every way - but he's an appalling traveler. He vomited every time he got in the car for the first 18 months we had him - not something we'd banked on.

But you are being pugnacious and antagonistic. How about, instead of telling everyone here what the text book says - you sit back and take it on board sometimes. I personally found your comments regarding my responses extremely rude. Luckily I give zero f***s what you actually think and the more obnoxious you become the less likely I am to read anything you've said.

What Temp Do You Rug Your Dog Up?

Might just take a bit of acclimation - the day we left Sydney it was 40 degrees - then we got to NZ and I don't think it cracked 15 for a month - it was quite nice - but a rude shock to the system. Hopefully you can find a nice warm solution :) No body enjoys being curled up super tight. -

Complete pain in the wot-sit. -
depends on its size - if its under 300k you can use the 'use full editor' option and attach it.

Hopefully a few more seasoned raw feeders will pop in but my guess is he needs to be fed more frequently & he's suffering the 'hunger spews'. Will be good to see what others say - but I'd be breaking his meals up into about 4 or 5 if possible breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea, dinner, supper (possibly) and a very early morning feed - just to get something in his tummy. Weaning him back to 2 meals a day between 6 and 12 months. http://keepthetailwagging.com/do-dogs-vomit-when-theyre-hungry/ Cant remember if I know what kind of pup you have - and acknowledge that this could be hard if it's a small dog (mine is about 10kg - breaking his daily 3% into 4 or 5 meals would be really hard. Dont cut his food back - he's still growing at this stage. As I said, hopefully a few others will pop in & give you some great tips :)

Cats too... I think you just need to chalk it up to one of the great mysteries of the world.

I don't mean to sound like a poo-poo (I do think it's great) but similar set ups have been going on for ages. I was holidaying in Smiths Lake a few years ago and they had a drop off point for the local rescue at the door to the woolies. Telstra shops across a lot of Sydney take donations for Rescue Resource too. But yes - it would be great to see a lot more. I suppose you've just got to watch out for it becoming a dumping ground like human charity bins are :/

Don't worry - even small dogs can be a pain. I got in touch with someone about doing a custom merino shirt for Scott the other day - he's such an odd size - biggest little dog I ever did own. Anyhow - she seemed to think one of her smalls would be fine - off the shelf so to speak. Then I measured him and he's an XL in the chest... but the rest would swim on him. You've reminded me too - must get back to her. -

+ 1  You're both naughty. -
I saw this on facebook this morning - I'm crazy impressed. Obviously at how quickly a young pup has picked it all up, but I'm also glad the parents tested 'just in case' and realised it was the pup working, not just having a sooky night.

Sorted! German Hunting Terrier Happy Ending.

Glad she's off to a more suitable home. I know nothing about the breed but they're very pretty little dogs. Your girl is gorgeous Spike. -
I have no doubt about that. It is bad enough just looking at photographs. I think if I saw her in the flesh, I’d be camping in your back yard. Love the coat - bows are too gorgeous I second that. I'd stuff her up my jumper and run. Luckily for you I'm a slow runner - so you'd probably get her back.

Hey Dol-ers, I have a new motto in life. Don't feed the troll. ;) -
Furminator (the "fancy" brush people) also make a shampoo. Ive not used it but have seen the youtube videos. Might be worth a look?

Fair enough. Please still give the big beautiful boofhead a pat from me.

No.... Please don't go. Can't you .... practice your macro skills or.... um... take photos of sign posts or flowers in your street :) PS - Please give Justice his kiss/cuddle/pat/smooch of choice and tell him I'm sending love & healing vibes.

I can't answer your Q but ... What is he allergic to in the bones? I'm wondering because (I assume) that there are things in these bars - which mimic bones. Right? (like cleaners with the "power of lemon" have things in them to mimic lemon - never, if rarely actual real lemon)... Hope i don't sound entirely crazy there. Only thing I'd buy on that page would be the Savourlife treats - because they're aussie owned and made and a portion of their proceeds go back to rescue. Ingredients are not listed on the linked page. For my money - I find almost any chew is just full of sh*t - and almost 100% makes Scotties grain allergies flair or he doesn't like them... He does enjoy a bully stick and he does have to chew them - but they're pretty high in calories - so I've all but stopped giving them to him after he packed on a kilo while he was being crated every day and left with a bullystick (bad parenting 101 there - LOL). Maybe you could try carrots? **Edit. I found the ingredients.

Whitney Has Started Covering Up Her Poo!
Scottsmum replied to Flashsmum's topic in General Dog Discussion
Her food has been the same for a long time, some kibble, fresh meat and occasional leftovers. It's seems to be new behaviour, so I don't think food is the cause Nah - I assumed you'd have said if you'd changed food and she'd started doing it. I was more just interested. You know - high calcium raw breaks down faster/better than entirely canned at the other end of the spectrum. :) I've always been interested in poo  -
This??? God it's times like this I'm so glad my choice of dog is small. Scottie trashes the joint when left unsupervised - but it's never higher than knee height It's also the reason he's crated when we're not home. Maybe you need a pen/run for her and then work on transitioning her to "normal" life.
