  1. Balanced Canine's Raw feeding calculator Ah - well I have a foxie - so when I was raw feeding I just hit up the clearance section / meat fridge at woolies during my weekly shop and that worked for me. *Entirely personal opinion here* I think if you're going to feed raw you need to be prepared for some prep time and expensive while you settle into the routine. It's the same as cooking for yourself - you can open a packet and nuke a meal or you can cook - and while you're learning to cook it is a bit harder than when you're all skilled up, tooled up and know the best places to go. Otherwise - look for a well balanced commercial option. To answer your actual question: For us, with an old 10-11 kilo dog with some medical conditions- we were feeding chicken, turkey or pork mince. + meat + very occasional red meat as a treat (I don't feed him red meats it upsets his tummy too much), chicken wings and necks + what ever veg was going that week (sweet potato, carrot, frozen veg mix) + what ever basic organ was available. He hated the organ and I was always trying to hide it in elaborate ways. I also follow this girl on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/rawfedriley Her page is basically a love story to her dog + products she makes and sells but she often posts photos of her really elaborate raw meals and it's great to follow along. Well, I think. Good inspiration for best practice :D Good luck!
  2. Not good Perse. Its the reason we only use traps - thankfully our mouse problem is minor.
  3. I second skinless bbq chook. Home made (no onion, no salt) chicken stock too ....
  4. Olya? Masha (Marsha)? I really like Olya Edit: or Babuska. .. which fyll disclosure google says means grandmother but i just think of dolls when i hear it
  5. They're really lovely S. You're right to be thrilled with them!
  6. Weeks 34 & 35. 34: We have some swans who hang out by my building (at work). I think they nest in the pond not too far away. I've been updating facebook on them when ever I see them - last week I saw two for the first time. I also had to walk closer to them than usual - I tend to keep my space because... well I'm scared of big birds. As for #35 - he just looked too darn cute with his little tongue sticking out.
  7. He's really turned into a spoiled old grump.
  8. We baby sat this weekend. Phew. We could not wait to give her back either. It's been ... 18 years since I had a pup and after that - I'm not in a huge rush to do it again any time soon. Scottie didn't enjoy having her here either. 20160826_193133 by Superspanger, on Flickr Making it known it was his blanky, his toy (he doesn't even like that one that much) and his Mummy. 2016-08-29_02-52-26 by Superspanger, on Flickr but we did come to an agreement... 20160827_124904 by Superspanger, on Flickr He took all the toys away, she had to play with her own tail and he'd share the rug if she didn't touch him.
  9. My boy has pulled both of his dew nails out on multiple occasions. If I'd have gotten him as a younger dog I'd have had them fixed but...They always seem to heal up fairly well & re-grow fairly well - but he doesn't have the other conditions you've mentioned. I can recommend a good general practice vet in Dundas (a bit of a drive from Dural) if you like, otherwise ask one of the vets you've seen for a referral to a specialist at either Sydney Uni being or maybe SASH http://www.sashvets.com/
  10. Maybe an older re-home / rescue would be better than a pup? To be fair - you an never be 100% sure what you're going to get but some older dogs who've been in foster care or a home and need a new one could be a good fit. My last girl was always happy so long as she had her bed - but she was 15ish when she died and had been thought her naughty years too.
  11. Good to hear you're off to the vet. My boy has separation anxiety and he digs when he's having an "off day" ... basically if he digs I know things arent quite right with him. Not saying your boy has anxiety, just saying its great you're catching a change that could be easily put down to normal doggy behavior & having it checked it out. And... hopefully it is just doggy behavior :)
  12. I did wonder about the bull arab.... At the end of the day we'll never knkw but id be strongly encouraging them to stop saying she's foxie cross. That implies (to me) she's mostly foxie in looks & nature
  13. She is very pretty, she's been trying very hard to be a good girl & has been extremely good with our grumpy old man shos been lording his seniority over her.
  14. I agree, and definitely no Papillon either. :D You're both so helpful ;)
  15. Yeh. He's staring to look like an adult.
