  1. If he's scanning contact the relevant body & have him registered / updated.
  2. Great to hear about the new pup, despite all the stress, sadness and heartache you've had to endure.
  3. We didn't think we could afford Vivitonin at first (our vet estimated it would cost $100 per month) - the Selegiline was a lot cheaper. But he couldnt take selegeline as it contradicted the meds he's on for anxiety. We were lucky - we were able to source vivitonin for $60 a month via an online pharmacy. It's worth noting that the two do work differently too :)
  4. OK. Cool! I know Marion and co. travel occasionally too.
  5. I'm far from an expert on this - but sounds like CCD (Canine cognitive dysfunction or doggy dementia). There are a few threads on here if you look for CCD + a lot of great meds and supplements on the market. Lots of trial and error regarding both with most dogs having really varied responses to them. From what I have read - including on facebook it's common for owners to report either instant improvement or not at all We started Scottie on vivitonin a few months ago as he was showing some symptoms - mainly night walking, getting lost + a few others and the change in his was fast and incredibly remarkable. He still has off nights - usually when he's managed to eat something before a meal time - as the vivitonin works best on an empty tummy. http://www.msd-animal-health.co.nz/products/vivitonin_/010_product-overview.aspx Good luck - It's so hard watching a dog slip mentally
  6. I'm not saying you should report the vet (I'm not saying your shouldn't either) but just to share some information with you:
  7. Sounds like a huge win for you and a positive - maybe side step / slightly forward for J-man :)
  8. Where do you get yours? I had a look online today (admittedly quick & lazy) but couldn't see a really obvious place online Vet Products Direct.......my injury vet recommended it, I believe it is better than all the other joint formulas.............cheaper to buy in bulk though if you can get a syndicate going Ta :) but but Podengo and I are NZ based ;) Thank you! I did look around and wondered if my vet would order it in - I'm sure they would - but online is easier in some respects. *Edited to add - they're cheap! DAP difuser & refill is $11 cheaper than my usual online place - refills not any cheaper tho...*
  9. No real advice here, only random thoughts. (Obviously - and you mentioned this - see a VB) but ... Coming into summer would he be happy to hang out in the yard more often? That'll buy you 4-ish months of time to get on things and maybe he'll grow out of it too? Can you contain the baby more easily? - temp fix as she's only going to get more mobile. Good luck - it's hard when you're at odds with your partner regarding the welfare of your dog - and I imagine a million times more stressful when there's a baby involved too.

  11. My mind boggles at the thought of the logistics. It would feel like you're going in for a pash and knowing my current and most recent foxie - they'd have a crack at slipping the tongue in too!
  12. One of the DOLers - Jumabaar owns lappies & also specalises in canine muscle stuff (late on a friday - brain not working) https://www.facebook.com/primalpaws.helpingpets/ I'm sure if you flick her a message she'd answer your.
  13. I had no idea poodles came in parti! Just had to google - thought they were all solid.
  14. Oh... we have a maine in the cattery too ( who I suspect isnt a maine & he looks different so i assumed ted wasnt a maine ... if you get my drift
  15. No advice on your question - not local. Just wanted to send you good vibes.
  16. I just don't get it. I mean - I often ask what a dog is if I can't guess (one at day care the other day - looked like a corgi x - but it was a griffon x bulldog) AND I often bite my tongue when I'm told someone owns a "Fantabadoodle" or other made up cross- but why would you argue with someone over what they say their dog is. What a waste of energy. I might walk away thinking they're an idiot - but I wont waste my breath saying it. Even when people tell me what they think Scottie has in him (lots of suggestions of Kelpie - I doubt it) I just smile, nod and say "probably" ...
  17. #36. "Ted" I think he's a Norwegian Forest Cat. The first breeding pair in NZ were / are in our town - so it's entirely possible and this boy is a baby. 36 by Superspanger, on Flickr Stunning hunk of a cat - I had no way to get scale on him but he was a hoofer.
  18. Lol... I refrained from annoying him ;) As for the sawns ...cheeky buggers chased us last week!
  19. If you own your own home please have a kennel made that matches. :D Yes. That's absolutely why I wanted to know if they owned their home. I was thinking something like this: (Seriously - you're a dork PK ) Actually - I was thinking if his dog was a big big dog then I'd have suggested laying a slab and having something permanent put in. My brother has a friend with a Saint - she has a whole garden shed, on a concrete slab. Raised floor & an additional alcove type thing to help stop the wind coming straight in. Anyhoo.... With a lab there's lots more options :) (And I know what it's like - My Foxie is big for a foxie - ends up in medium sized stuff all the time :/ ) I can't personally recommend anyone but I found a few on gumtree. This guy might be a go: You could have it made to size. I'd add on an awning or have it designed so the door faces away from the elements. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/greenbank/pet-products/dog-and-goat-kennels/1122073925 http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/minden/pet-products/dog-kennel/1121064991
  20. What kind of dog do you have? & Do you own or rent (your house that is  )
