Puppy Preschool In Auckland (North Shore)
Scottsmum replied to ann21's topic in General Dog Discussion
I haven't personally used them & my geography is terrible but you could try to contact "Barkley Manner" & see if they do classes or can recommend someone -
This story just makes my blood boil! Worst council (in terms of how I was treated as a council worker) I ever worked for was Hunters Hill (in Sydney - small and posh) - I was contantly treated like shit. I worked for both Blacktown and Fairfield a few years later - much nicer demographic.

Oh - I think we had this conversation a while ago for Thistle & Westie Mum gave some good advice in that thread too about buying a cheap solid door & having it installed so as not to damaage the existing door. I'll see if I can find the thread - it was a good one from memory. Edit: here it is :) http://www.dolforums.com.au/topic/265762-dog-door-types-discussion/page__p__6785786__hl__%2Bthistle+%2Bdoor__fromsearch__1#entry6785786 I only mention it as Thistle is a big girl - as for how easy are they to install - I have no idea but think a lot depends on the kind you install and where. As for teaching him - I'm sure he'll clue in - Scottie picked up using a doggy door within hours when we stayed at a friends place who had one :)

Thanks WM. That means a lot to me :) As for the *ahem* weight management thing. He hates pumpkin with a passion, but it was entirely me - I'd been over feeding him - and he's such a fussy thing that when he was eating something I was encouraging it so back to real portions and some tough love - if he doesn't eat it can't be too hungry.

I didnt go in :) & yes. I think he really is gorgeous. My dear little heart dog.

Vet this afternoon. Shot 3/4 for arthritis. He's lost a bit of weight - which is awesome. He seems to be moving a bit better too - well he was moving OK - but his endurance seems to have kicked up a notch - he hasn't blown out or turned himself around for home in over a week now. He climbed the walls last week after shot 2 - Scottsdad and I barely slept as he was up and pacing and on our heads all night. Fingers crossed that was a one off. He's settled and relaxed now (8pm here) so that bodes well. Anxiety is up and down. Being managed by a mix of drugs and day care and me not leaving the house. Had a particularly bad day Saturday - which was my own fault more than anything. (Big thanks to PK who chatted to me while I gave in and just let him climb all over me and sleep in my lap). Behaviorist was a bit of a wash out. Not really ready to share that one yet - but lets focus on the good - the weight is dropping. & some out takes from the 52 photos (I can never pick one) Quick trip to the river after the vet for "swimming" - that's as wet as he gets. Dainty little man.

Fur Loss And Red Skin?

*shakes head* how do you get bitten when you spend all day in bed. Mal, Mal, Mal....  Jokes aside he does spend time outside... sunbathing and rampaging mostly. I can fully see him sticking his snoot where he shouldn't. He gets very annoyed by insects. I know. I really am stirring. -

How To Tell If Chicken Mince Is Off?
Scottsmum replied to juice's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Is Burns Petfood still running & do they do Chicken? -
I know very little about harnesses - but googled "bikejoring harness" (yes - I know you said jogging not bikejoring) and the Alpine Outfitters Urban Trail Harness came up really high in the results. http://www.alpineoutfitters.net/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=189

How To Tell If Chicken Mince Is Off?
Scottsmum replied to juice's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
That's a shame - Scottie loved their mince. He loves this processed chicken stuff too Strangely enough, when he eats the pet brand chicken mince (which they say is also 100% chicken) he gets super nasty farts.... -
How To Tell If Chicken Mince Is Off?
Scottsmum replied to juice's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Um. I find human grade chick. mince tends to be white/very pale pink - then doggy chicken mince is a much darker red - as it has more "unappealing to humans" bits in it. Scottie loves this stuff we get here called "processed chicken" its sold in the supermarket meat fridge in the "human section" (not pet section) and its label says its 100% chicken. It's minced, but its the most vile colour and the consistancy of clag glue. I assume you mean your pet shop was seven hills petfood? as I looked them up and their FB page has gone missing. If they're still there - try their chicken mince. Otherwise... I often used Aldi and the discount shelf at Woolies for chicken or turkey mince - but I only feed one foxie so I can / could afford that. The butcher at Northmead also minced chicken breast or thigh on demand for you. Obviously you pay the price per kilo for breast or thigh but it's freshly minced and you can be 100% sure what's in it! -
It's all good - just think...He'll settle down in 4 or 5 years time
