  1. Slightly off topic - but not really: Do bitches need multiple matings/serves to be really sure the deed is done?
  2. I think they really limit themselves when they're not up to it. I know the last two seniors I had (14 year old rotty x and a 15yr old foxi) would dictate the length of their walks depending on what they felt up to. Some days, it was enough for Guin (my last foxi) to go to the bottom of the common driveway (about 5 townhouses length), sniff, pee and turn around and go home. I think it's just the mental break of being out which helps the larger ones when they're not really up to the walk - Maj (the rotty x) enjoyed going to the park - 500m up the street - to sunbake & poke around. Does your girl know any games you can play to tire her out mentally to couple with some shorter walks?
  3. I used to be all for it - then I "lived through it". In theory is all sounds great, and don't get me wrong - I have certainly taken advantage of the fact that my office is / (was?) dog friendly - right up til last week then I took Scottie-bum-head to work with me for 3 days straight because we ha the fences re-done. Our "office dog" has recently left us - long story - and I assume that will mean the end of the dog friendly policy. If you need to negotiate; poorly behaved dogs poorly behaved owners busy work schedules workers with allergies it all becomes too hard. To be honest, I would probably vote against having a dog friendly office if I was ever asked again. There isn't much a can say as I am weary of the privacy of all involved but when you have a senior staff member, a dog with behavioral issues an and a staff member with allergies it's a very difficult situation to be put in. As a one off? Fine Bring your dog to work day? Brilliant. Every. Single. Day? - Not on your nelly.
  4. Ta. :) I've tacked it up. So well see how we go from here.
  5. So a full update a few months (6-7 weeks) later: Last years weatherbeeta - Still going strong. This years wag wear - stitching coming undone on chest strap Dapper dog - good for a day coat, great fit, no warmth in it at all. Chilly dog - I suspect as above with the dapper dog - but Scottie wees on the belly band and doesn't like wearing it because of that
  6. westiemum I was slightly disappointed when Steve said Maple needed a martingale collar as they only came in black so they can only half match  Soooo..... you get a new black lead. :)

  9. Ive been thinking about them recently. What are they called?
  10. Most recent purchases are a number of squeaky tug toys. One of which is burried in the garden with a foot sticking out. The other has been de-stuffed.
  11. Uh. My phone let me do it :) thanks for the tip. Edit: have sent wayrod an email via his website
  12. Hi Steph, thanks for the offer, at this stage I'm just after comments on services provided by this company. Or recommendations for other companies by people who have used them recently. Ta :)
  13. Anyone have an updated opinion on Skypet?
  14. Hrm. Ive been there, its not an oodle kind of place. It a working kind of place. It was too dirty & knock about for me. Too much mud. I cant imagine "Mrs Snob" leaving little fifi there.
  15. Its getting very nasty over on Facebook tonight
  16. Its funny. I assumed FD meant that small dogs would no longer be allowed to be free range. To pick on larger, more traditionally "BSLTargeted breeds" would suggest he had a fair idea of what went down. No? It actually makes way more sense to me to market the place as a space for big dogs to burn off energy
  17. I said the same thing about his state of mind when I saw him on on tele. Surely he has other people in the business telling him he's not saying the right things / handling this the right way and making things worse for himself? From the little I saw of him when i attended ckass out there he's in charge & staff dote on him.
  18. Yup. Not a proud moment, but one of mine took a bit of a nibble once. Taste testing! Sorry to make light of it, couldn't help it. At least you know this though and make provisions. Go you guys. F. Yes. A very valuable lesson to have learnt. I was only young myself (15/16) at the time & she was never trusted around kids ever. Ever. Full stop.
