  1. Lamb shanks are good as well. They are really good to give your pup when you are not there as they are much bigger so your pup can't choke on it. Mel
  2. Chicken necks and Chicken Wings are great for pups!! My boy loves them!! You just have to supervise them when you give them one. They could choke your pup but just watch him. I have had no problem with Bailey though, he just crunches through them. He has been eating them for 2 months. Just give him one and see how he goes. Mel
  3. I give my pup dry food or kibble with puppy milk for breakfast and he loves it. It might be a good alternative to weetbix. Mel
  4. Hi There, I have a 13 week pup who is the same, he doesn't really eat much at all!!! I have taken him to the vet and he is very healthy so there is no problem there. Have you tried soaking the dry food in puppy milk? I have started doing this with Bailey and he does eat it.......I also give him an egg on his dry food a couple of times a week which he does eat. Bailey used to be really bad, not eating much but it is improving as he gets older so hang in there, it is probably a phase he is going through. Mel
  5. He, he, he!!! I posted the same thing about Bailey our 12 week old puppy! He only liked to eat the meat and not the dry food. I got lots of advice from everyone here and basically took the meat away. He only gets it a dinner, if he eats his food during the day. Basically, he won't starve himself, he will start to eat the dry food in no time when he figures out its that or nothing. He needs his puppy food for all the good stuff that is in it! Bailey now eats his dry food with no fuss! Mel
  6. This post makes me think of the Oreo's add "Mum says chocolate isn't good for dogs" Seriously though, I had also been told that garlic in small doses is good for dogs. What about eggs, I have heard so many different opinions? Mel
  7. Bailey never used to wee when we went for a walk but we are getting pretty good on peeing on command so he is doing it more now! My sister dogs hold on for a walk, your youngest Toby even does the famous walking poo!!! Mel Also wanted to add that Bailey is only 11 weeks old as well and our vet and trainer told us to walk him to get him used to cars etc. In saying that we only walk him on the footpath, and away from other dogs.........
  8. I would not be keen to try the alpha roll on Bailey. I'm still working hard with him to stop him from biting, the best thing we have found so far is a 'time out' room. When it gets totally out of control and starts biting hard we put him in the time out room for about 30 seconds and it seems to work. Saying 'NO' and yelping doesn't work, he just barks and gets even more excited!! He is working well with me on not biting but he bites my husband a lot. I think my husband might need 'training' Thank you for all your posts! Mel
  9. Hi There, I have an 11 week old poodle cross puppy and he has started to bite really badly!! Now I know this is a puppy thing but it is getting really out of hand! I tell him 'NO!' and then give him something else to chew but it doesn't seem to be working! He ends up just barking at me? Is there any advice you can give me? Mel
  10. I have only ever used a coat on our old border collie Heather (who has now passed on). She was poisoned, the vet though it was a tick so shaved her so she never grew back her full coat. Mind you she used to race through the bush at night and lose it and I would spend an hour the next morning trapsing through the bush to find it again!! Mel
