Shar Pei to a T Jonah still has moments when he chooses if he will listen or does what I want but at his pace. He pretty much just ignores other peoples wishes unless there is something in it for him. As for other people touching him only the privileged will be allowed to touch him and others he treat as if they have the plague

We are camping at the seaside again so lots of photos when we get back. Jonah did get swamped by a unusually large wave at a bad spot by a rock wall but came out ok.

Can Dogs Legally Ride In The Front Seat Of A Car?
Canisbellum replied to Willowlane's topic in General Dog Discussion
The passenger airbag can be deactivated on all modern cars, due to the danger to children. Refer to your owners handbook. I would not connect a collar to a restraint but use a harness which are readily available -
Non-Electric Heat Bedding For Pets
Canisbellum replied to RuralPug's topic in General Dog Discussion
Silver side reflects the heat and the more layers between it and the heat the less effective it will be -

I had a 2 hour assessment with Steve in Brisbane, he then sent me a lot of training programs he had worked up and we had weekly follow up sessions as I stated. I probably learned more than Jonah did. It's your money and your choice but I would do it again with no hesitation. The things he was able to tell me about Jonah just by observing him were amazing.

I have used them for behavioral issues and training issues with my Shar Pei when I lived in Brisbane and it worked well. I would upload videos to YouTube and send Steve the links along with feedback and questions. I was pretty happy with the experience.

Incorrect Cruciate Diagnosis
Canisbellum replied to Canisbellum's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
There are some interesting studies happening in the US regarding partially ruptured cruciate ligaments. They are using stem cells as therapy. To make sure it is appropriately diagnosed they are looking at it arthoscopically and using gait measurement systems to assess improvements in weight bearing. They are then looking at it again via arthroscope and checking to see if the damage is still there. It is still in the process but It is looking very positive!! They won't do it for ruptures greater than about 25%- at that point it is past being able to mechanically survive and at that point they recommend surgery. I was actually talking about ligaments outside the knee, rather than the cruciate. Typically ligaments do suck at healing but we can bias what happens to make the most of what is there. This is why I love working in rehab. I was lucky enough to work with some of the leading names (Vets and PT's) in Canine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation in the States who are on the forefront of research into the area. I am hoping to do further study to improve my skills in musculoskeletal ultrasound so in cases like this we can actually visualise structures around the knee that can tell us in great detail what is going on Tendons are another tricky tissue to work with once it has been damaged- but when you can see what is going on you can bias healing toward the best results. Bugger about being back in whoop whoop!! There are rehab specialists that do distance consults online if it does continue to happen. Thanks for the advice, he seems to be ok so far, just keeping an eye on him and limiting his jumping -
