I have done it once so far and will probably do it again. I have a pet sitter come and feed them and spend some time and then put them in the house and do the same in the morning. More than 1 night and they go to the kennel. My job takes me away often and I don't have the luxury of family and friends that will stay over.

Dslr Vs Mirrorless For Beginners...
Canisbellum replied to Sail_Away's topic in Photos, Photos, Photos
I used a 40d for a while that had a 28-80 and a 70 - 300 lens and it was a pain constantly switching lenses invariably which ever lens I had with me was either to long or too short and the amount of times the 70 was too long for what I was trying to do was ridiculous. Remember to multiply the lens length by 1.6 as it's a cropped sensor camera and you will see why. Which is why I went to the 18 to 250 and then the 18 to 300 for my everyday walking around lens. Yes it's not perfect everywhere but every photo I have posted in the last year has been taken with 1 of them and most have been fast action shots in sport mode. It's not ideal on dark days but it's a good compromise. Especially with access to light room. I am starting to feel the need for a prime now and will be attending to that fairly soon. The eagle shots I posted this week in the 52 weeks of 2015 thread were taken at 300mm in sports mode on a dreary overcast day and I have zoomed into them a fair bit. So that should give you an idea of how they perform -
My bad, I thought Roova was talking about my pics. I blame Tapatalk that doesn't show the whole quote unless you click on a continue reading button. ^_^

Thanks BC Crazy and Ranga, I was busy sneaking closer when a car came by and it took off before I was where I wanted to be
-
Thanks, I see them fairly often but only around between Menzies and Leonora WA and Leonora and Laverton and only when there is road kill. That was probably 2 or 3km outside Leonora

What with it being pitch black in the mornings and overcast, cold and miserable most of the other times I haven't taken my camera out much. Been wanting to take some around here for a while and managed to stop recently. 23/52 Thought these two were a bit of a oxymoron 24/52 25/52 The road train taketh away and the road train giveth 26/52

Twice a day, kibble with yoghurt in morning and kibble with either veggies or sardines at night. Plus shark cartilage and liver or dried chicken breast treats. Jonah I have to adjust seasonally he needs nearly double in winter to maintain his weight. I don't give bones or long lasting treats as Jesse is a greedy pig and will try and pinch Jonah's and then there is a fight.
-
Found out it can be done in Perth for Parvo and Distemper now so had Jonah and Jesse tested. Immunity is 1.2 and they are both at 1.8 so no needles needed.

Well I was quoted for 70cm X 50cm on canvas $154 100 X 70 cm $300 150 X 100cm $600 This is in outer woop woop so no doubt it will be cheaper in the big smoke.

Terrible Things Your Dog Is Forced To Endure
Canisbellum replied to Little Gifts's topic in General Dog Discussion
Gets woken up from his sleep on the couch to go and sleep in his comfy bed in the bedroom. Has to sleep in said bed because the one time I let him sleep on my bed I dared to roll over and disturb him and he got the shits and went top sleep in his bed. -
I used a local place called BlackCrow Studios. I also looked at Harvey Norman etc but decided to support a local. Visualising the size was difficult in my mind they were going to be enormous but they aren't. New one in the works is 100 X 70, now that's big. Of course cost is another factor, my wallet does not support my desires.
-
I have been wanting to do this for a while and have bitten the bullet. Going to do 1 or 2 at a time due to cost, had these done a week or so ago. All about 70cm long with different Heights depending on cropping. Ignore my landlords green walls please

I heartily disliked them but when they tried to kill fishing by calling fish "sea kittens" it turned to scorn and ridicule.

How Long Can A Dog Stay In A Crate For Safely?
Canisbellum replied to Willowlane's topic in General Dog Discussion
Jonah sleeps in his open crate most of the 9 hour day despite having a big yard, toys and a kelpie play mate So I don't see a problem -
Even Shar Pei can do it Not quite there There it is

Hmm, reading some of these my dogs sound neglected. They get an hour walk before I go to work and their kennels are on a large covered PATIO in the back yard. They don't have access to the front unless I am home. Jonah has a heating element in his and Jesse has a double coat so doesn't need one. There are lots of toys to play with although that doesn't stop Jesse digging holes. If I go out at night I leave them in the house and if it's around 40 deg or over I leave the back door open with the air con running so they have access to the house and there are 2 clam shells of water in summer. I also have a surveillance camera in the back yard so I can spy on them during the day and shout at Jesse if I catch her using Jonah's bed as a toy
