  1. Over 30 and Jonah only gets a leash walk because he is dumb enough to run till he drops. But I make a point of early morning walks so that doesn't happen often
  2. I get strange looks from the people at work when I am upset because something is wrong with Jonah or I Need to take a day off to look after him,but they have now learned to accept it. Also been told by various people that they would love to be reincarnated as one of my dogs. Haven't yet been told I care more for them than people but if I did my answer would be "your point is?" Did get very strange looks when they found out that a bag of Canidae is $130 to my door and comments about how I spoil my dogs. Personally I don't give a hoot, I have a bond that I have never had with any other living being and they come 1st. I also don't go out without them for long periods. But my kids are grown up and I am single so it's not a problem and anybody trying to get into the mix would have to understand that.
  3. I have a few thoughts but this is what I can print. If you don't want to jumped on and arrested then do 2 simple things. 1: Obey the law 2: Don't be a dick when asked to obey the law. As for the foolishness about the vehicle they need to be disciplined. I am constantly amazed by the attitude of entitlement which extends to people flouting the law because they are special
  4. I also have to do it, I never give them scraps or left overs but people in their past must have. Jonah is particularly persistent and evidently love pizza and doritos from his performances
  5. CrazyCresties those are wicked photos. I took this one a few weeks ago between Menzies and Kalgoorlie
  6. That's Jonah my Shar Pei to a T. My Kelpie X always runs big loops and comes back but he just keeps moving to the next smell and heaven forbid he gets a fresh scent.
  7. Where do I start. Jonah has made me paranoid due to his collection of Shar Pei issues. The entropian surgeries, yeast infections of skin and ears and the terror of hip and knee problems every time he limps because of a thorn or burr and The fear of Shar Pei fever attacks and don't forget the allergies . I have most of it under control now and hip and knee X rays say they are pretty good 'for a Shar Pei' but he has off colour days now and again which I think are mild Shar Pei fever attacks and for a fit active dogs he gets a lot of limps and puts his back out from time to time. And of course the stubborn aloof "what's in it for me" nature I love him dearly but he is seriously high maintenance and sometimes hard work.
  8. Teekay I had the same problem with a red flower that shaded to black. No matter what I could not get the black to show up in a photo
  9. Really? I have been waiting for that as I have to bring anything else in myself. Hopefully its not much more than the $120 a bag I allready pay
  10. Some from last weekend, Jonahs fitness is pretty amazing compared to where he was when we moved here. He ran and trotted for 2 hours with a couple of short water breaks and still had the energy to run when we were on our way back. Jesse of course can run all day but she has the sense to lay down and rest when she gets a chance.
  11. My family consists of myself Jonah a Shar Pei and Jesse a Kelpie cross. Both rescues both with issues but living the good life in the Goldfields WA
  12. Making excuses for people doing stupid things is an Australian curse and has led to a generation of half wits. The blame belongs to the parents and the child plain and simple.
  13. I need that for Jonah, he doesnt like randoms touching him and most people ignore the "give me space do not pet" badges on his harness
  14. Awesome photos, pity there is nothing like that around here I think Jesse would go well and Jonah may even try it although he is more a scent dog
  15. AFAIK Bear coats are an aberation and pop up randomly in litters, so it may be difficult hunting down one
  16. There are a couple of 3 legged dogs in town from falling off Ute's. Mine go in a covered cage bolted to the load bed.
  17. Sorry Canetoad, I missed this. It's a bit hit and miss with these photos but it is neither long exposure or post processing really. I move the camera as I take the shot to get the blurry effect :) Ok, looks good anyway :)
  18. Snook I realize my photos are not publishing quality but I maybe need new glasses as I didn't realize they were so terrible. Even the ones I have printed and hung on my walls, oh well you live and you learn
  19. Snook you have been bashing on about these lenses being to slow for dog sports when almost every photo I post proves you wrong. Yes they are not the best tool for the job but they take perfectly adequate photos without costing thousands of dollars. I suggest you look at the photos I have posted in the 52 weeks of 2015 thread and the Chronicles of Jonah. Many are of moving dogs and birds and more than a few in overcast conditions.
  20. They are both cheap lenses but will get you into the game and take pretty good photos and when you reach their limitations you can upgrade the lense
  21. Thanks everyone, yes they are an odd couple Persephone 😀
