I bought a new lens for my canon yesterday, a pick me up if you will, as nothing picks you up like some retail therapy. I am trying to spend my limited funds on versatile thingsbut needed a faster lens than what I have so I bought a Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD. I took these with it yesterday Swan river from Matildas bayside tea room at Kings Park This bird really wanted some water But what you cant see is Jonah sleeping on the drivers seat above the birds head It was pretty interested in me And so was this Crow

So we are in Perth for a couple of months and this is there shenanigans 1st day on Beach in Rockingham cant remember the name right now
-
Oh. And a means of starting a fire
-
I see nobody has mentioned a good torch with spare batteries and a knife or 2 and a multitool
-
Well a bag lasts me. 6 weeks and they still eat it so it will have to do as fancy storage isn't really an option
-
Use within 6 weeks once open I have been told. All though none of the dog food is hermetically sealed so it's only really airborne bacteria and humidity that can affect it. I try and get most of the air out and close the bag with clothes pegs if need be.

You must be snoozing DDD. Hold on to your socks from next week we will be in Perth for a couple of months so lots of new places to visit and explore

Multi Day Trek/camp With Dog

Crows pick them up and drop them in strange places so rather safe than sorry. Also carry some soap crystals as that makes a dog vomit instantly. Just in case -

I don't what the 1080 situation is but if there is a chance of baiting you should consider a muzzle -

When using a long line I hold a loop it in my left hand like a hose or extension cord and control the lead and it's length with the right looping it back as I shorten it so there is not a huge amount of slack lead laying around -

A long line catches on everything and is good at bringing people down and burning their legs unless they right next to you and paying attention. Also good for tripping other dogs up. I wouldn't be using it for that at a dog park. I did that in the beginning with Jonah but I had to be on my toes all the time 10m is also a long way away if there is strife, -

I take mine camping and. don't take a crate. Just pet futons and Jonah's bed. Jesse prefers sleeping in my swag or under the car in the dirt, Jonah sleeps on his bed next to my swag. If I was hiking I would just take a yoga mat with, maybe use it at home for a bit at 1st so they know what it's about -

I have 10m orange 16m and had a 10mm briefly. The 10mm was nice and light but was easy to burn the fingers if the dog was running and you needed to put the brakes on. The 16mm is friendlier to the fingers but heavier and a pain to control. The syntek itself is awesome, zero maintenance, gripping wet or dry. If I was buying again I would rather have the 10mm I think but I tend to use the 5m lead more nowadays -

Refer to my previous post regarding your sense of humour. I am pretty sure a bit of ice cream occasionally is not going to be the death of anybody. -

Which Is The Best Quality Dog Food?
Canisbellum replied to loveyrdog's topic in General Dog Discussion
Jonah has allergies and he was on BlackHawk for a long time along with yoghurt, sardines and vegetables. I have in the last 4 or 5months tried Canidae grain free, meals for mutts grain free and BlackHawk grain free. There was a marginal improvement in his ears and coat on Canidae and his coat looked a bit worse on the other 2. The Canidae is horribly expensive so he is going back to the standard BlackHawk. Going to re introduce pro biotics as his ears didn't seem to build up so much gunk when he had it before -
A couple I just found from our last Esperance trip

@Persephone; if you look in a dictionary for strong willed and stubborn you will find a picture of a Shar Pei.
-
I have a Shar Pei and while I couldn't be without him he is hard work and high maintenance I couldn't imagine adding another special kind of dog to the mix. Especially a puppy of working breed with what sounds like no work to do. Hope it works out for you and especially for the dogs.
