So we set off at 11 this morning, just a short leg today to Norseman. Too hot to do anything except veg.

Thanks for that. I cant fly the drone there as its in the middle of housing so no drone flying allowed due to privacy laws and FAA rules forbidding flights within 30m of people.

Settling in to the camper trailer

I think owners like that need to feel the full effect of the law, it almost seems like it's too much trouble to sort this kind of thing out. I cycled past one dear yesterday. Walking leash in hand dog running in front of her, and next to main road. I ask her if she is special because her dog is off lead in a public area. All I got is much abuse hurled at me. Constantly get the "he's friendly or doesn't bite" amazing how many of those dogs have bitten Jonah. I now start shouting no with my hand up and block the dog as soon as I see it coming towards us.

We went out to Lake Lefroy outside Kambalda. Dont be fooled by the name its a huge salt lake with a lot of Gold and Nickel mines on it. To m y surprise the dogs enjoyed running on the soggy salty clay with no ill effect untill Jonah tried to drink from a puddle. The water is hyper saline being between 3 and 10 times saltier than sea water.

The Springer arrived and I tried it out this morning. There are a few issues with it hitting the back of my thigh and my foot unless I move it all the way in on the pedal. Otherwise it worked pretty well I have it on the left side so i can be between the dogs and any traffic which means a rethink fo ghetting on and off the bike. Jesse want to run faster than whatever speed I am at so there is a bit of tuning up needed there and Jonah wants to run further away from everything but it started settling down and he had a loose leash on the way back. All in all a fairly positive experience

Just for a bit of background, this is in "follow" mode where you park it in the sky where you want it and then it follows you. You are able to move it through a orbit, this is at 23m altitude and about 20m distance none of the trees go over 20m which is why its flying at 23m. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_tA23hHxQOhk

You can't see how close it is from in the car, Jonah is the worst offender I often stop until I can see him. Don't know about the best life ever. -

@ tdierikx; :) I Just made a bracket to for the controls to fit my bicycle so watch this space -
Thanks for the tip!! Wow so it doesn't affect you when she takes off after a roo!? That's so impressive. I think our homemade job is like the WalkyDog, but if it snaps off or something (most likely to happen when we're putting it on and off the ute) and I get sick of getting Dwayne to make a new one I'm still keen on the Springer. Have you had any experience with Ezydog Harnesses? I like the idea of the dogs having harnesses that match their collars and really like the thick neoprene & tough buckles. That is a really good idea!! The only thing that might be a problem would be burrs & seeds getting stuck in it but if they're cheap then easily replaceable :) I am pretty sure they were under $10
-
A tip for harnesses like the Julius K9 type. I went to Supercheap and bought sheepskin seat belt protectors and put them on the chest and belly straps

Glad I saw this, I just bought a Springer for my return to civilization. My dogs follow me fine out bush and will even heel next to the bike but there is no one or other dogs around out there and there are too many opportunities to find a bait on our road trip

It's a wreck on CY O Connor beach near the old power station in Perth. I only realised that it was a ship figure head when I looked at the photos. It just looks like a pole or something with the naked eyeNot sure if you can see that but the bird is actually sitting on a horses head which looks like it's grasping for breath above the water.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Wyola
