I agree and, in fact, as I walk my dogs so often during the day I have poo bags stuffed in my bra . That way I can NEVER forget!!! I do the same at shows.

I had to ask my breeder to STOP pulling his dogs out so that my dogs could win or lose on their merits on the day. Thankfully he learnt that I don't mind losing, I just love having more than a couple of Fauves in the ring - and when I do win it is sooo much sweeter when there is competition.

Hard to say without a picture. You should be able to see the last three ribs, but they shouldn't protrude. Sometimes younger dogs can be a bit ribby because it's hard to keep weight on them. I look at other things to work out if they are unhealthily underweight - ie, overall condition, coat shine, muscle tone, etc. Edited to include a photo of a famous and beautiful bitch in what I think is perfect condition: Bayt Shahin Impulse, CC, CM She is beautiful and I agree with her condition. That is not the sort of condition I'm talking about OMG me too!!!

Speaking Saluki's should they really be as thin as some of them are shown? Some of them look almost skeletal to me and I don't like fat dogs at all (in fact I've been told some of mine are too thin previously by pet owners). For us with the Fauves it is more about making sure that we don't lose what they were bred for and what they're still used for primarily in Europe. Their coat shouldn't ever get too flashy but I fear it will take a while before Judges and other show people truly accept that the coat should be "Very rough, harsh, rather short, never woolly or curly. The face shouldn't be too bushy."

Steve caught the neighbour at our last house leaning over the fence calling to Daphne & Marie - when they came over and jumped up to say hello he punched them in the head. Needless to say my dogs were never left outside when I wasn't home. When we spoke with is Landlord they said that he was probably having an "episode" and he had a lot of issues with anger.

As someone who would like to import a bitch in whelp in future I'd love some information on how it is best done as from other people's comments it sounds like the proposed option could be improved on.

Yes that will MOST definitely help!! Marie is missing her sooo much. Mac just won't play with her enough and Grover & Bart play too hard. She is going to go nuts when she sees Daphne again

Woohoo Miss Daphne!!! Steve wasn't quite sure what he'd heard - he wasn't sure if it was breed or bitch but I figured Katherine wouldn't ring unless Daph won Breed. She is doing so well with Katherine & Lachlan and I'm so happy that Katherine has given her the chance to get out there down in Melbourne and surrounds. They're doing a great job with her! Lordy we miss her here though!

One of the my new friends in my little country town was woken at 7.30am 2 weeks ago by her neighbour weilding a hammer screaming that she was going to "brain your f*&^ing dog if you don't keep it in". Fair enough the dog was getting out and that is not good BUT in my presence only the week before she had said to my friend that her little dog was a sweetheart who got out occasionally but was no trouble at all and so very friendly. I think some people are just nuts!! This lady's son told my friend yesterday that his mother was on an assault charge last year for hitting someone with a tyre lever - the lady is about 65!!!

What a gorgeous old girl!! I love it when they just keep on keeping on.

I'm pleased you did this Bundy's Mum. I first "knew" Norskgra through the Breeder's Forum and I almost felt like starting a thread like this in there but just didn't feel I knew her well enough to do so. I will never forget her fights to keep her bitches in whelp - whatever you felt about them she gave it her all and By God I admired that dedication. She did everything times one million and DOL will be poorer without her. RIP Norskgra.
