Its not an official stacked photo, they will have to wait until he arrives from Denmark, but introducing Hagen. I think he is beautiful :D . Hopefully, all going well, he will be the father of my first litter. :D

I've got some gorgeous pics of Hagen, the new Fauve Katherine Wishart is importing to post but I can't seem to get them off the email. Hagen arrives in a couple of weeks and will be seen around the traps in Melbourne. Can't wait to meet him :D

Cool - thanks Jan - will give Lindy a buzz tomorrow. -
I bought new curtains yesterday to replace the rather unattractive but perfectly functional curtains in my house. The curtains look (to me) ideal for making trolley/crate covers and I was wondering if there is someone out there who can be paid to make crate/trolley covers?

That's nice for the lady and her mum, was it a red fringed dog? Possibly - it WAS an unusual colour and she said that she gets bagged in Sydney for his colour. It was the nicest win I've seen in AGES - like I would be if a Fauve won - she cried, her Mum cried - it was just gorgeous!

So sorry Newfsie - I know how much your animals mean to you both. Hugs

A lady won Group with her Saluki recently at Holbrook Show and she and her mother were SOOOO excited. I congratulated her afterwards and she said that, apart from having won Group, it had been the nicest show experience she'd ever had. She said that she normally shows in Sydney and that people were rude and nasty all the time but that she would now choose to show rurally more often. Obviously that is only one person's viewpoint but based on what BMP says maybe it is not an isolated view .

And what about Centitout's Bloodhound - didn't she have two with huge litters at the same time? The amount of poo involved is terrifying

Coming up for 2011..... The most exciting year yet. On 19 January 2011 Hagen the Fauve (imported by Katherine Wishart) arrives in Australia from Denmark. Whenever Marie comes into season after that they will mate and hopefully Fauve puppies will be born at my house  :D . A suit will be bought for Campbell who will handle Daphne and, hopefully, kick his mother's butt on a regular basis ;)

Congrats Ceilidh!!!! I've got a rare breed for you to get your hands on should you need it

Yes I only realised the other day that you were "Irish Lassy"! It was great to see you too. I only wish I'd realised it was Sky Soaring Magpies walking past when I was rousing on my kids so I could have said hello. Its so obvious now I think about it I promise I'll realise next time.

I was privileged enough to meet Tobias and he was adorable. I'm so sorry guys, he was a very special soul who was lucky enough to spend his remaining days with other special souls (you two). Run free Tobias, you were one special boy.

I was with the smooth, Diva was being a post for my b&w parti-colour girl, and Keshwar handled my black girl. So heaps of Dolers if you spotted us, what a bugger we didn't spot you!! Yeah I know exactly who you are.... We were seriously standing about 1 metre from you AND I was the crazy mother telling my children to get out of the dirt whilst you walked past :) I had a great time telling my friend that smooth Saluki's WERE acceptable - I knew that from your posts on here ;)
-
OMG SSM - that was you that walked past me with your Saluki's...... If only I'd realised.

We're about to head off - all the traffic signs seem to indicate we will be able to get through so fingers crossed

Hmmmm - Chrissy has her Grand, Champions are Jim, General, Milady, Marie, Anna, Daphne, Carla, Marcus. Not sure about Hogan, Josephine, Jack and the other new puppies though each definitely have points. So a minimum of 9, another 3 that probably are and another 3 that have points.

No news yet and I'm not sure where they were staying. I'm waiting to hear more from her on Facebook.
-
Katherine just updated her Facebook page to say that Daphne achieved her title today handled by her son Lachlan - woohoo She also said that they were evacuated at 3am due to flooding and that the road to Wagga & Melbourne is now closed and they're not sure how they'll get home.
-
Well Daphne is going so I'll be there on Sunday to watch her in the ring and bring her home. I'm keeping my fingers tightly crossed that we don't get any MORE rain between now and then and the roads that are currently open remain open. I won't lie - I probably wouldn't have done the show still but I'm going to be so glad to see Daphne again. I hope she is happy to see us

I'm so sorry

No we only lost 4 - the other 5 were up on the nesting boxes or roosting like normal. I think the problem is that we had only just last weekend moved some of the babies (the bigger ones) into the main chook pen as they were getting too cramped in the baby pen. We also wanted to see if Extra & Brian could get along as the kids really, really wanted to keep him. The ones who died were the babies - the three little black ones who stayed together all the time and Extra. Honey Ginger was the only one of the babies who we moved who survived. It just doesn't make sense to us as they WERE all up (ETA we have two rows of shelves/roosting that they can be on and they were WELL above the water level) - all we can think is that something happened that meant they jumped down off the nesting boxes when the water was already above their heads. Maybe the big chooks moved and scared them down? I don't know. Extra's body was under the ramp . From an egg production point of view though we lost three hens - all the suspected roosters were still safe in the baby pen.
