I agree with this completely. I'd love to be able to enter Archie, my daughter's cavalier, in a lot more shows. His breeder thinks he is the bee's knees and was kicking herself for rehoming him.

no blood test? there was a thread not long ago about people being told it was too late for their bitches based only on cytology but when the actual prog test (blood) was done they were fine. I think you might have a good chance here! Yep no blood test. I will go looking for that thread and let Katherine know. Thanks

Fabulous story!!! Obviously this one is particularly close to my heart, not only because Banjo was a special little puppy who was lucky to be alive when he first arrived at my house or because Gary was always an amazing first-time dog owner who loved his dog with all his heart but because my husband and I are lucky enough to have Chris call us friend. Gary's description of her as "a pure ball of positive energy and a beacon of light” is so accurate as everyone who met her on Saturday night would be able to attest. MDBA Pacers is an amazing organisation - Julie you do a fabulous job!!!

Exactly - apparently the cytology (sp?) test that they did is correct in 30% of cases and that is what they used to say that she wasn't in season. Its all a waiting game now!

Well here's hoping the vet got it wrong - we got a 15 minute tie today . Welcome to the topsy-turvy world of dog breeding Trish!!! :D ;) :D

My reading says that there is nothing you can do on the grass. Only sure thing to do is concrete over the top.

We knew it was just a "try" because she'd surprised me with this season - its just extra gutting having received a phone call at 5.30pm to say we'd got a good AI with another to come . Next time we will send her down from the beginning.
-
I'm gutted.... Just had a phone call from Katherine and she was given the wrong information by the vets. They tested Marie and apparently we were too late. She has either had a silent season or a split season or I've just completely missed her season (which I have never done before) and was standing on Friday but by the time we got her down there it was too late. We're all very sad but we'll have to wait until next time now. :p

I just got confirmation that a fresh AI was done today with another one later this week and some more trying for a tie - the joys of maiden dogs & maiden bitches. So please add us with Basset Fauve De Bretagne puppies *hopefully* due around 23 May. So excited I can barely speak which is really saying something

Yep and he only chewed his bedding once!!! He's a real character Sway - seriously cute and lots of spunk! In other words, a feral Sh*#!!!! LOL!! great work guys!! I wouldn't call him a shit but he does have moments of feral, particularly for his final go yesterday afternoon!!! Couldn't help but laugh at him! He got loads of compliments all day and Clare was approached a couple of times whilst in our gazebo and told that how great he was.

Particularly me and my kids - OMG what a cute little bundle of adorable she is!!! Could easily have slipped her into my handbag today. It was great to see you again Pulilover but a little sad that I only remembered why I knew you when I saw your dogs . I'm sure next time I will be MUCH better. ;) Had a great weekend back in the show ring for the first time in a few months - Xkaliba Cecilla (Daphne) did well winning Best of Breed both days - it was great to have competition on Saturday. Big thanks to Katherine Wishart in Melbourne who with the help of her son Lachlan and his show-training classes has taught her how to show . It was nice to get a compliment today that my girl was very well trained  - wish I could claim that it was all my hard work but I did 'fess up and say that someone else was responsible.

Just saw that my very good friend Chris Lythollous was awarded for outstanding service to PACERS. She is a wonderful woman and whilst she definitely went over and above for PACERS in her foster care of Banjo I also know that she enjoyed every minute. The world needs many more Chris Lythollous'.

So sorry WEIA - he was a beautiful dog.

So sorry to read this, and sorry for being so late in responding. RIP Asha, you were a lovely girl.

Oh okay - I get what you're saying - I thought that they only used "at Soletrader" so I hadn't clicked to it being Soletrader as the English owner. That will probably explain why the runner-ups name was unfamiliar as well - "Tagglane Good Vibrations over Wildan" as Wildan IS a Fauve prefix, it is quite possibly an import as well. There are very, very good Fauves in that area of Europe as they are also consistently used for working, same as the new boy imported by Katherine Wishart in Melbourne - eta he too is from Denmark. Will go looking for the Soletrader website now - thanks heaps

The BOB fauve is from a very well known show kennel in the UK, stunning on the video , http://crufts.fossedata.co.uk/Breed.asp?Sh...;ScheduleID=118 Soletrader is very well known for the PBGV & infact they also own/bred the reserve in show Known for Fauves though? Or are they new to that breed? ETA he looks lovely! Thanks for the link. I wouldn't know about PBGV breeders?
-
Can anyone tell me if there are photos of the BOB winners? The Fauve that won is one I haven't heard of and I haven't been able to find any photos of it online at all. Interestingly I hadn't heard of 75% of the Fauves who won places and 50% of the Kennels - hopefully that shows that more people are getting into the breed in the UK.
-
Just read on Facebook that Nate won Puppy in Group today as well - can anyone confirm this?
-
Congrats to Team Taejaan with Nate winning BOB at only 9 months of age ;)
-
Jeebus he looks awesome in that photo Indigirl!!! When I remember the obese old boy I brought home from the pound its so hard to believe that he is the same dog. He was a lucky, lucky dog to have found you and had the end of an innings he deserved and I know just how hard a decision this was - you fought longer than anyone else would have I think. Run free over the Rainbow Bridge Wally and bark to your heart's content. ;)
-
OMG OMG OMG - he is here!!!! Introducing Hagen who arrived in our fair country last night. Meeting his "boy" Lachlan - doesn't that look like a friendship to last through the years? And a photo of Katherine stacking him. I can't believe how good this boy is looking for an under 12 month old Fauve. He is going to bring so much to the breed here in Australia - just can't wait!!!! I'm hoping to go down to Melbourne and visit him whilst he is in quarantine.
-
Do Cairns need help for that??
-
Mine have got used to them BUT as we don't have fences around the exterior of our property yet the dogs are only on the property on lead OR in their run. The chooks get to free-range when we're home and free to make sure they don't wander next door.
