Yeah she is a different type - she is related to Hagen the sire of Marie's puppies, hence why she was brought out. Her coat is killing me too but nothing surer than that it will all fall out given that she is leaving an Irish Winter (well almost) for an Australia Summer! ETA as for her coat she was always a lighter pup than her sisters, definitely a fawn. Apparently she is very naughty!

The import is from Ireland - ETA yes I like a lot of the UK dogs, and the Dutch dogs, and the Swedish dogs and the French dogs etc etc etc - I'd like to have another import in around 18 months. This is she

Just cause I can't stop watching and loving the changes in my Fatty Boombah here is another pic of Marie. I swear she gets wider and her boobs get bigger every day. Normally when I've had pregnant dogs in my house I've not known how far they've had to go or what they normally look like but its so different when its your own dog isn't it? She normally sleeps a metre from me on my work days so the changes are just so obvious. Can't believe after nearly 5 years I'm days away from my first (shared) import arriving in the country AND weeks away from my first litter.

Oh that is great news

Wow!!! That is awesome! I was just reading it to Campbell and he was so excited -I asked why and he said that that means WE could have that many

So happy to wake up to this news

That is terrible. One of the Wodonga Rangers was badly injured by a dog a couple of years ago. His hand was so badly damaged he was never able to return to work.

you know they are going to come out of the woodwork, no matter what they look like , the good, the bad and the ugly. They'll get their CC and disappear again My little 10 year old bitch still loves to show and is still in great show condition she won BOB at Melb Royal this year ,I do not show her every weekend maybe 4/5 times a year .But anyone who knows this little Bitch of mine (Tazma) will tell you that she dose not look or act like she is 10 years old.. No and bitch is about right for her.... -
Yeah we do because I will have my own home bred rising star next year
-
This is Sinead bred by Roy Blevins who arrives from Ireland on Sunday. She will be co-owed by Katherine Wishart and myself but will live with Katherine and be seen out and about around Melbourne. Not really a rising star for 2011 as she won't be out of quarantine until just after Christmas but I'm still very excited.

This is Sinead who arrives in Quarantine on 27 November from Ireland. She won't live with me much sadly but isn't she beautiful??? I can't wait to meet her.

Everything you have said here and above is exactly how I feel about my ordinary little orange dogs. Every Class In Group is valuable, every run-off for Group or Runner-Up in Group (okay there have only been 2 ) and every positive comment from a Judge makes me keep going and convinces me that I'm doing the right thing for MY breed. Its not a popular breed yet, it may NEVER be a popular breed but they're my breed and I love them - wouldn't swap 'em for the world. -
I'm so sorry

Yay Nevafollo!

Have you had ANY sleep?

I have NEVER had a member of the public recognise my dogs for the breed they are BUT at dog shows they've been call some funny things. Basset Gone Wrong Basset Forve (should be Fohve - O sound) Basset Forve De Brettagknee The best was the judge who awarded me 6 points and told me "I've only seen the Petits of these"..... Hmmm okay, they don't come in Petit so what breed is it that you think you're judging????

if only it was so easy with Ferny eta the rolling over bit and someone else to hold her so looking forward to stripey baby pics Trisven :D Yes I can imagine Rebanne!! I'm looking forward to them too - you can also get some that are born with black hairs in their coat, these are normally the ones with the very red coats. I'd love one of them - I know that Neil had one in his last litter.
-
You'll have to take some photos for me!
-
Yeah surprisingly she was though the vet didn't expect her to be - she was desexed on the spot obviously and stitched up. Being both a rescue bitch AND a greyhound the litter was culled on the spot as the expectation was that she wouldn't survive and the remaining pups would need to be pts also.
-
Aww poor Blue. I remember a rescue bitch once who screamed when she had her first pup. Labour then halted and she was obviously straining so off to the vet for an emergency c-section. The poor girl had ruptured her uterus almost completely to her vagina. I'll panic if Marie screams after that experience.

Congrats Becks!

Grand Champions & (new Title) Supreme Champions

Genuine question here. IN YOUR OPINION should I then stop showing my dogs until there are more of the breed available to show against? What do you expect those of us with rarer breeds to do? As I have said earlier there are no more than 10 Fauves being exhibited Australia wide and only 30 in total in the country. -

So you make no allowances at all for the fact that there are breeds who would find it impossible to get a 25 point challenge even if every dog that was shown in the country was at that one show? The highest point BOB challenge ever awarded to a Fauve here in Australia was 15 (think I've got that right 10 dogs so 10 points plus 5?). There is only one Fauve in Australia at the moment who has won a Best in Group so he is the only one who deserves to be a champion? -

I agree - I liked the old system and was quite happy with the fact that I would only have a dog that achieved a Grand after it had earnt it. There is currently only one Fauve in Australia who would have achieved it under that system but he deserves it as he is lovely. I do however get sick of being told that our titles aren't worth as much because we haven't had to beat anyone to get them - its not like I actively avoid competition and in fact, despite being told by others that I shouldn't do it that way, I refused to pull my older bitch out of shows just so my younger bitch could be titled. My view was that she would get her title when she was good enough to beat the older bitch, which she now does. -
So sad Hilaryo. Many, many years ago, right before I got my first pedigree pup I bought a little puppy through the Trading Post. Got her home and she was adorable. I noticed that every now and then she limped so took her into the vet - she had a healed broken shoulder that had probably occurred, according to the vet, as a tiny baby, possibly from the mother treading on her in the wrong place. She had been in pain all of her short life. Hard as it was you made the right decision.
