  1. The first time we took Lucy to the beach she wasn't awfully fond of the water so Mr TC was holding her leash while I went for a bit of a paddle myself.. I decided I'd dive under the water and Lucy pulled the leash out of Mr T'S hands and came bounding in to 'save me' when I immeged laughing and smiling she realized I was fine and paddled back to shore.
  2. Having just one amstaff I'm amazed at how much dog hair I empty out of the vacuum cleaner each week. I swear when I finally fork out for a robotic vacuum I'm buying two so it doesn't get overloaded every day
  3. My old boy does that with his Wobbler. I always cringe when he picks it up to toss. Smart dogs to figure out an easier way to get their food. Dozer does this with his wobble, but only when it's empty. Really cements that he'd really love a jolly egg
  4. The dog snobs is a favorite of mine!
  5. We used to feed it but the dogs lost a lot of their coat condition
  6. Aussie dog toys. The retrieving yellow thing is a long lasting nighttime chew (2 months is a long time in our house) and a kong woomba that's coming up on a year without signs of breaking the squeaker is still going strong!
  7. What a beautiful dog. I hope they manage a good outcome with vcat
  8. We taught 'bang' (you make a gun with your hand and say bang bang) in three stages the first was drop, then lured him to his side by moving a treat towards his hip so he was laying on his side and then onto his back where he got Jackpot treats while we said bang with the hand sign. He didn't get it for months, then I was doing a fun training session and threw a bang in there and his new winning trick was suddenly a thing
  9. I attempted to watch an episode when it first came on foxtel. I was yelling at the TV within a couple of minutes and turned it off. I wouldn't let the guy near a plushies of a dog let alone a living breathing one...
  10. That sounds like it would be perfect for me! The mozzies by pass the dogs and latch right onto me... It does seem like an interesting idea and would love to give it a try.
  11. We were going to wait until august so that we could save for bali, but the in laws are spotting us financially so we can move in a long term rental before we go on vacation. And yes we'll be specifying that the dogs are part of the family and renting accordingly. We'll go through an agent this time...
  12. Just to give you guys an update. My partners parents have jumped on board with the situation and are going to spot us bond so we can move again. It's a periodic lease with no minimum term, so the length of time isn't going to be a hassle. Now just for the hard part of finding another place that's dog friendly so we can enjoy our relationship with our dogs.
  13. There is nothing in the contract about the dogs not being inside - do the landlord is breaking the agreement, not the tenant. In Vic it is illegal for a landlord not to allow pets inside unless it is specifically outlined in the contract. It is specifically outlined in the agreement that they're not allowed inside the unit. We're lucky to have the garage that I can use as a cuddle area
  14. They slept inside last night after half an hour of the boy pup crying and barking and me bawling as well. They were asleep on the couch and bed respectively within 5 minutes. Once we have creates they'll be sleeping in the garage
  15. Thanks to everyone and your advice. At this point we don't have an out. I'm going to look at setting up a couch in the garage and pretty much spending all my waking hours at home in there with the dogs. Those two are my link to sanity at the moment and I can't stand to think about not getting my cuddle time. I'm also going to be crating them in the garage so they don't spend all night barking outside.
  16. It is a private rental, and we moved in yesterday but the lease was signed today and we were told no dogs inside before we signed it but after we had moved in. I wish I could convince my partner to abandon bali and move again. We could have the money together for another bond in less than a month, but he's not biting. I don't understand why they've said no dogs inside at all. There's nothing in here that they could damage that isn't either less than $100 to replace or ours, the most damage they can do is to the turf outside which apparently is $1000 if it needs to be replaced -_- we're so screwed.
  17. Unfortunately not. I'm pretty upset. We're going to Bali in July, flights and accommodation already booked and paid for and nonrefundable, so unless we forfit $2000 worth of flights and accommodation and miss your trip to bali for the second year in a row and bail on this place ASAP were stuck. Because I can't see my partner bailing on that much money.
  18. The house is a tiled studio apartment underneath the main house, which the upstairs tenants are great friends with the owners. So sneaking them in is probably not an option. The dogs are 9 months and 14 months so really just pups. The landlords wish to keep the house and yard pristine and have stressed that the dogs are absolutely not allowed inside at all but they also need to be kept quiet and not annoy the neighbors. I'm thinking of broaching the idea that we could crate the dogs at night in the laundry/garage to make sure they're not barking at everything. I wish they'd told us this when they offered us the studio. I'm pretty shocked and on the verge of shutting down completely cause I'm not dealing with not having our pups inside. And Dame Aussie we only just saw and signed the lease today after the move. There had been no mention of the dogs not being allowed inside.
  19. So we moved into a new place yesterday from the same landlords and our two dogs had previously been allowed inside and had their run of the back yard. We've just been told that the dogs aren't allowed inside at all at our new place and this has come to massive shock as the dogs are a massive part of our lives and our couch time has been a major part of our bonding with the dogs. Can anyone offer advice for how to get the dogs settled outside of a night? This will be a temporary arrangement, as we'll be looking at moving around the end of August.
  20. Wow! I've never know a dog to get stuck on a roof before.. Plenty of cats though. Brave little guy he was racing up to the roof, if it were me I would have froze with fear at the window
  21. We haven't really had any terrible reactions to our dogs.. The worst has probably been a guy who death stared and muttered something at us when Dozer was trying to go in his direction to get a pat while we were on a walk (Dozer never got close to him and was quickly back by my partners side). We usually get the exact opposite reaction from people with Dozer, even though he's over 30 kilos now and is losing his puppy face people just seem to fawn over him. We nicknamed him Mr Charisma for a reason
  22. We use a combination of sentinel spectrum and capstar which works well for us. That being said we don't have any sensitivities
  23. I just had to do a double take.. Maddie looks so much like my greyhound bitsa Lucy that I was wracking my brain trying to think when I had her on a couch like that..
