  1. Poor Dozer thinks I'm the biggest meanie in the world right now. The housemate is cooking steak and Dozer is trapped in the craft room with me, so that he can't try his best "feed me I'm starving" look on the poor housemate who always gives in and shares. He's sitting at the door sooking and is now giving me the stink eye
  2. I'm so sorry. Run free Zeddy free of pain.
  3. We've got a 5 seater lounge with a chaise. Dozer will either stick to the end of the chaise, which is the opposite side of the couch to where I sit or as close as possible or on me.. If he steals my spot he'll move when I sit back down.
  4. You took the words right out of my mouth! Such a cutie, thank you for posting puppy pics, I swear it's the first unofficial rule of DOL
  5. I have a fussy pup that's never liked them, I used to dice the tablets up really finely and add them to something pungent like peanut butter and mashed banana or tinned cat food. We switched to panoramis tablets as they were easier to make them swallow and follow it up with a treat.
  6. Our boy almost hung himself on a Window latch when he was about 8 weeks old, thank dog for our amazing neighbours who saved him and we became friends and they fell in love with him even though she had been scared of bully breeds. We were worried he'd he traumatised by the experience, but he's two now and absolutely fine with collars and windows. Pups seem to forget the bad and remember the good.
  7. I love reading these updates! Congrats on taking out 2nd place, I don't know much about the show side of things but it sounds like you're working hard and learning heaps!
  8. What's a worries bag? I read it as a Woolworths bag
  9. Poor Dozer, who got to sleep in the bed last night was not allowed to steal my pillows at 5am when I got up to go to the bathroom. I came back to bed to find him laying on my pillows, so I just popped my head down on him and he jumped off the bed. Poor puppy didn't even want to get up this morning, was happy to be in a pile of blankets.
  10. I was just thinking about boss the other day. So glad he has found a new family
  11. Dozer has not been allowed to indulge his latest bad habit of counter surfing. All edible things have been pushed out of the reach of his mouth. He was also incredibly accurate with his dinner time reminder this evening, at exactly 5pm on the dot be jumped off the couch barked softy once and looked at me expectantly. Sometimes he will sleep until 5:10, but not today.
  12. Two meals plus treats here! I try really hard to not have a fat dog much to Dozer's dismay. He loves the days where he accidentally gets breakfast twice!
  13. This is what I hear at 6 am every morning! I take it as my cuddle alarm!
  14. This is a regular sight at our dinner time.. Yeah he's a weirdo
  15. Dozer has to endure sleeping in his crate until morning, at which point he lets us know he is clearly freezing to death (in his covered crate with a mink blanket) and is let out. He then immediately jumps up on the bed and waits for me to lift my mink blanket so he can hibernate until mid morning. And I must be starving him if his dinner bowl isn't picked up exactly at 5pm LOL poor guy then has to wait to be released to eat his dinner. The drool is astonishing! There are very little breakfast theatrics, dinner time must be the highlight of the day!
  16. We've got a home alone bungie and have never put food in it as there's really no way for it to easily come out. It does however have a marble in it that seems to keep Dozer's interest. We actually have ours a bit lower than what aussie dog suggest so he doesn't really hang off it if he's using the bite section. He'll pull it like he's playing tug with a person, but he will also jump up above where the ball is and hang off that while pawing at the ball. It's attached to the support beams of our patio, with an amstaff I wouldn't hang it off anything weaker as he would probably destroy it with how hard he pulls, as it is now he shakes the patio something chronic.
  17. That looks great, she'd love this:) Thank you. FYI, if you're in Australia, they sell them through the link below: http://www.politepaws.com.au/store/ The Aussie dog home alone bungie toy is somewhat similar. Dozer loves to play with it when people are trying to have a conversation out on the patio
  18. My amstaff kinda does it, but it's hilarious because he looks like he's doing big prancing leaps across the yard. Every time he does it everyone in the house just breaks down in tears of laughter. I'll have to see if I can get a video of it one day
  19. When we were all on alternating shifts Dozer would spend the afternoon out in the yard from about 11am-12pm Once our housemate was home of an evening which was usually about 5-6pm, Dozer would be locked onto the patio area after his afternoon play session with the housemate and fed. The confinement on the patio was so that he wouldn't bark/chase the neighbourhood cats that stray into the yard and to stop him from licking cane toads. He'd stay on the patio until we got home at 11pm-2am, then he'd sleep inside with us. Dozer only really barks a lot if there's someone home, and they're not letting him inside, We did receive a complaint about him barking in the evenings when the housemate was home but Dozer was on the patio wanting to come in. After that complaint, dozer was crate trained, and a crate set up in the living room and he'd either chill with our housemate or in his crate of an evening..
  20. Woohoo!! No more accidents is right around the corner!
  21. A master list would be a brilliant idea ! I'll see how bored I get next week and I might make one up
  22. A single protein source would be great for those of us with allergy dogs. I know there's people on dol who's dogs react badly to even a small inclusion of the allergy material, ie chicken fat in a beef/lamb based treat. High levels of grains and corn are something I'd want to avoid
  23. Is it possible to reduce the serving size for the maltese? If they're doing great on the RAW I wouldn't change their food, but definitely adjust the serving sizes according to weight. A lot of companies suggest far too large a serving size, I feed kibble but at 1/2-2/3 of the recommended serve for my dogs size. If I were to feed him the recommended amount he'd be such a fattie!
  24. I've purchased some home made dog cookies from local markets before from memory they were around $3-4 for 5. OH reported that they tasted very bland but they did smell great and the dogs went absolutely crazy for them! Yep, OH is crazy and has tasted most of the canned foods we've bought in the past as well .
