Thanks everyone, looks like an allergy so far. Going to try some Benadryl and see if it clears up. Then the fun part of trying to find what triggered the allergy, I'll try ease her into a new food and see how we go if not we did go for a run and she did jump in some longish grass so that would be my next guess for the allergy :)

Hi everyone, I have a 12 week old staffy pup and I noticed a bump under her eye yesterday, it didn't seem to bother her at all but today it seems she has about 10-20 hard little bumps on her head and 3 near her first one on her eye! They're very hard and she's not too bothered when I touch them.. I recently weaned her onto canned optimum puppy food ( as she's always eaten the optimum dry food. ) could she be having a allergic reaction to it?? She also had her 2nd vaccine last week and was treated with advantix so it could be that too?? She's booked into the vet for tomorrow but thought I would get some other opinions incase it's something that's not very serious and can be treated without going to the vet :) Thanks.

She's such a beautiful little girl. By far the best behaved pup compared to the pups I grew up with. I'm going to give clicker training a go, she's already a good listener and catches on pretty quickly so I think that would be the best thing for her :) we also have our first day of puppy preschool next week so I can get some extra advice and tips there :) oh and I didn't mean leave them by themselves, I meant me be in the room with the both of them and be able to just leave them to do their own thing and relax a little. I know she's just trying to play with him and its not her fault. My son isn't totally interested in her really, he smiles and laughs at her but doesn't grab at her, he's happy just rolling around with his toys. I haven't been able to take a decent photo yet, will post some when I can get her to sit still :) Thanks everyone

Not alone, just not have to watch them and constantly and have to intercept. I'm asking for advice and that really didn't help.

Hi everyone, So we finally brought home our American Staffy girl Sasha. She's 8 weeks old and has been great. I have a 7 month old son, he's not crawling yet but rolling and commando crawling always, so my problem is Sasha nipping him on the ears and feet and face. Its not hard enough for him to cry but it still can't keep happening, she clearly sees him as a litter mate and just wants to play. I've been intercepting her and saying 'ah!' And 'no Sasha!' And she backs away but she seems to get anxious and realllly wants to get at him. Sometimes when she's not overly hyper she will leave him alone when I tell her too. Any advice on how to stop this completely? And also get it to a point where I can leave her in a room with him and not have to watch them like a hawk!?! Thanks!

The puppy preschool I will be attending is run by a veterinary nurse who is also very much skilled with animal behaviours. Her classes concentrate mainly of socializing and teaching to sit etc. I live in a small town and have to travel at least 30 minutes to attend. Oh and I also plan on regularly taking her to obedience classes as she gets older and taking her with me to see friends of mine with dogs to keep the socialisation going. This is my first post and everyone has been so helpful and kind. Thanks everyone your help it has been wonderful!

Hi thanks for the reply! I'm not too worried about the dog aggression but more wanting to know if I socialize her from a young age would it help if I was ever in a situation with her where say a unknown dog is off leash and coming near her would the early socialisation and puppy-preschool help the situation from getting out of hand ? Her parents are very friendly family pets who are are surrounded by the owners kids and grandchildren also :)

Hi all, So next weekend I will be picking up my 8 week old american staffy girl. I know that they can be extremely dog aggressive. So I'm enrolling her in puppy preschool to help train her and most importantly socialize her with other dogs etc. I'm hoping to maybe hinder the dog aggressiveness by taking her to puppy preschool but I've seen that there is no point as no matter what she will be dog aggressive? I'd love some feedback on puppy preschool and how that worked for your american staffy or any other dog which can be dog aggressive and if it will help or not. ( if it doesn't help with the aggression I'll still be taking her anyway ) Thanks :)
