Where did you get your pup from? Are you in contact with the breeder? I am sure if your pup came from a good ethical breeder she would of advised you of the correct age to desex I always desex puppies, they are rescues My main breed is Shar Pei I wait until they have a home to go to before I desex, so they are desexed between 8 week onwards I have never had a problem with spay incontinance, the only time I have encountered it is when I desex bitches over 5 who have had alot of litters I hope your puppy is alright and I second what everyone else has said, find another vet, they might be right about HD, but I would not like a GR desexed that young For my own dogs, I desex before 6 months I do not like early desexing but in rescue I cannot trust anyone with a pup, especially a purebreed I am not picking here BB, but if breeders sold pups desexed I would not have so many unwanted Pei in pounds to save

Excess Hormones - Is It Possible In A Neutered Male
peibe replied to ~Anne~'s topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Where was he desexed? I had a male Pei pup (5 months) desexed in Sydney and they told me and charged me for the castration 2 months later in his new home he was displaying tendancies I would only see in an undesexed male dog Vet visit and an ultrasound later, he had a retained Teste that the first vet could not find so they left it there When I remarked to them on it they said they could not find it so assumed he only had one, nice of them to tell me Can you trust the desexing vet? -

Erny Has Puppy Breath In The Home!

He is beautiful erny, big congratulations Have fun on the naming front LOL -
I would not recommend a leash free area at all Your dog is scared he needs to meet totally friendly dogs in a controlled leash environment There is a risk of having him at a leash free area where he will get rushed at by other dogs wanting to play etc and it will make his fear worse and give it reason Take him to a good training school where he can meet nice dogs on leash

You can email your animal coordinator, I know she has the internet too
-
I am not assuming anything love but have been in this game for awhile and your really need to talk to your animal co ordinator for these kind of questions, that is what they are there for Your pup is not quaranteened if he is running around your house and yard and unless you want house and yard infected for up to 3 years

Who are you fostering for? I hope you are in touch with them

You can get a negetive reading from a Parvo test in the first few days If you are getting puppies out of the pound you should have a concrete run that drains away from the other dogs, other dogs should not be allowed anywhere near puppies for 21 days This is called Quaranteen

I will third that Desex them both, Pei boys entire are notorious for not liking other males, entire or not I was having lots of issues with Zephyr as he was not desexed until he was 9 months due to skin issues One desexed he became the lovely boy he is today I also recommend TOT Does the Kelpie back down?

You are right rappie I paid $365 for my female Shar Pei she was 18kg, she got a drip and 3 days worth of pain meds I paid $245 for my male Shar Pei, he weighed 15kg I currently pay $90 for males under 15kg $110 for over 15kg Females are $120 for under 15kg and $150 for over 15kg These are rescue prices I do beleive if you are happy with the vet and they know what they are doing the price is irrelevant ETA. $40 for 3 bags of saline and 4 days care for 2 sick puppies I love my rescue vet, and he glues the pups, they heal so fast

They get my apple, pear cores and love them Zephyr loves fruit and will steal it from the fruit bowl if he can reach it, Jewel only eats it because I am In summer I have given them a whole watermelon, they make a huge mess with it but love rolling it all over the yard and trying to get it open, takes them ages and keeps them busy for a few hours
