  1. Yes shar pei's do have blue tongues

and she did come from Shar pei rescue(peibe)

Thanxs for my new best friend steph :)

    You are more than welcome

She has had your name on her since miss squish found out she was a black female and that was your favourite

Lots of people wanted to adopt her but she is all yours

I know that miss squish will help you with training and everything that you will need

I was also told that Marnie got in your mums bed

Your mum said she was not going to let her into her bed, good to see Marnie suckered her in

Congratulations on your new pup

LT, Cat has Marnies sister, now named Yuna

i have always wanted a puppy and today it was a mass suprise and Marnie will be my bestest friend forever, and im goin to take her to training when she is older  and i love her so much.

and thank you to sue as well for looking after the pups and Marnie loves her new home she sleeps alot and she loves her crate.

I am happy that you are happy and we expect lots of photos and updates

  2. I had my two Shar Pei and was happy

Then I brought a foster dog into my home and she settled right in, they accept, love and teach her, she is part of their pack

I foster dogs regulary and they have never accepted another dog they way they have her

I did not choose to have a third dog, they choose for me

Do you think your girls would enjoy having another dog as company?

  3. Just had something similar happen with a litter of rescue pups

The quietest one at 5-6 weeks is now the most dominant at 7-8 weeks

The most dominant at 5-6 weeks is now the most laid back and adjusted

The loudest at 5-6 weeks in now the quiet one

  4. Depends on the breeder

Alot of breeders put time and effort into their puppies and while 8-14 weeks is a crucial age, I do think a breeder would be able to socialise correctly

I would not bring a puppy home at 8 weeks to leave them alone all day while I am working or going through a major project

  5. Vaccinating again now will give her no immunity as she was only vaccinated a week ago

I recommend vaccinting at 6-10 weeks, 10-14 weeks and 14-18 weeks

Each Vaccination should be given 4 week apart

Then again at 1 year, 3 years, 5 years

  6. I am currently handraising some Shar Pei pups on a Goats Milk Formula I was given of 250ml goats milk, 1 egg yolk, 2 tablespoons yogurt, 1 teaspoon honey and pentavite

They went straight from Mum onto this after trying Biolac and Wombaroo which they refused

They are now 4 weeks, so been on this for 1.5 weeks

We watered down 3/4 milk to 1/4 water then reduced the water amount

But none have had problems other than some Corona but that is due to the pound not the milk

I will always use goats milk now, it is closer to a bitches milk

  7. Just to go against the flow.

If I was to get a puppy again I would get two at once.

I fostered two female pug pups that came into rescue at 7 weeks. I had them for 3 months. Yes it was double the poo & wees and double the food preperation but seriously these girls were no problem at all. They had eachother to snuggle and play with, and boy did they play.

The ended up being adopted together and are a year old now and I would say are very well rounded gorgouse little girls. Yes the bigger girl probably couldn't live without her smaller sister, or another dog, but saying that my younger pug couldn't live without her older brother so what is the difference?

Pugs are a totally different kettle of fish to other breeds, they are happy go luck dogs who really are easy to handle

I think Pug siblings would still be work

I rehome puppies often and I would never ever rehome 2 pups together and quite frankly for a breeder to do it aswell is irresponsible

Yes the dogs have eachother, but they never learn to be their own dog

  8. Demodex can be hereditary

It is very common in Shar Pei, some breeds like Staffies too are more prone to it

A C5 vaccination can lower the dogs immunity to the mites already living on thier skin

I did not have a problem with my dog and demodex until I C5 Vaccinated and he had a allergic reaction

He has not been C5 vaccinated since

  9. Sorry OT but did anyone notice there is a poultry attack listed

Some roosters can cause a huge amount of damage when they attack. They dig their spurs in and rip. Very nasty stuff and not something to laugh at (no matter how funny it sounds). This is why cock fighting exists and why it is so cruel.

Still pretty funny, even chickens can be pretty mean. Granted I doubt they'd cause that kind of damage.

Imagine sitting with mates drinking. "Yeah, got attacked by a chook last week... Was in the hospital for days"

    Wrong

I was sitting in a hospital waiting room a few years ago after my son had broken his leg

A lady was rushed through covered in blood looking like she had just gone through a barbed wire fence

We ended up in the same waiting room and she had been attacked by a rooster

    She had over 100 stitches
