  1. My dogs thrive on Advance There are about 8 different varieties Puppy- Growth Puppy rehydrate Adult - Turkey and Rice Adult - Chicken Adult - Energy Adult - Light and a few others but I cannot remember what they are called. Advance is great for dogs with itchy skin and allergies especially the Turkey and Rice
  2. Hey guys I am SOOOO glad that you are having such a fun time laughing at my grooming get up. I love the song but I do not think that you will sell any albums because I will absolutely refuse to be in the video clip. I just took my get-up off as my other dogs were extremely scared of me. the googles worked and my eyes did not water but Zoro was so scared of the one-eyed monster looking at him that he sat still.
  3. It only happens when I groom him. I was allergic to dogs and cats when I was a kid, but I thought I outgrew it. I have no reaction with the Shar Pei, my malt X can be bad sometimes but his coat is more Silky not fluffy like Zoro. If I put Zoro up to my face and smell him it itches but mainly grooming him And yes I am allergic to grooming, whoever the stupid idiot was that breed this notty monster I would desex them.
  4. Thankyou everyone for your advise. It is making the brushing experience easier. But does anyone have a cure for sneezing when you brush? I have started wearing a dust mask and it helps but my eyes still water and swell. They do not normally do this with dogs only with cats.
  5. He was professionally done when I first got him. He has been trimmed around his bum and face. I am just talking about maintenance.
  6. Thankyou for your replies they should help. I am brushing him on a towel on the washing machine so that I can get at him easier. The headlock should work Vehs. thankyou I never trained my Maltese X to get brushed and now you are likely to lose fingers when you do. Takes two of us and yes a muzzle. I want this little boy to be well adjusted and I believe that in fostering dogs it is up to me to do the training with them that would be done if they were already in their new homes. There are far to many matted dogs in pound I do not want him to be another.
  7. It is really gross hey What makes me laugh though is when they hear you coming and start chopping it down really fast and when you tell them out they grab a mouthful and run, totally gross Funny but my only dog that eats cat poo also eats out of the toilet.
  8. I am fostering a 12 weeks old Maltese x ShitTzu for HAR. He has quite a long ShitTzu type coat. It is not like the Maltese that I have meet so I am guessing it is ShitTzu coat even though he looks more Maltese. Anyways I have never owned a dog with his coat type as I am allergic and hate dog grooming. (my Maltese X has a more Silky like coat and it does not knot as much). I am trying to get him used to being brushed for when he eventually goes to his forever home but I am unsure of a few things: I am brushing him in small 3-4 minute lots about 3 times a day. When I first started it was 1-2 minutes 4 times a day. I am slowely increasing the time I need him to keep still. Is this right? What brushes do I use? Would a Slickerbrush be OK? Do I brush him wet or dry? Do I spray him with a small amount of water? How do I get him to let me brush his bum? He hates it Any help would be great
  9. Ned my SWF cocks his legs, (desexed) Zephyr started cocking his leg at about 6 months, but until then he just stood and lifted up his front leg so that he looked like a poof. Zephyr (desexed) cocks his leg on walks and sometimes over Ned, but mainly at home he pees like a girl. He has also started lifting his front leg again.
  10. If the male dogs gets her pregnant on your property they are liable to pay any extra to get her desexed because she is pregnant. What ever you do do not let her have the litter.
  11. Big hugs your way. Cats are wonderful. Rest well old boy and still expect that soft furry bundle jumping on you bed when you aren't well. They seem to know when we need them even if they have passed over. I am sorry Pesh and will send a prayer for the dear man.
  12. Shar Pei are champion farters and I give them 2 peppermint leaves cut up in their BARF every night and yes they still fart but you can no longer taste it. It is in the CSIRO book on alternative dog medicine. I brought my peppermint bush at the plant store and tend it carefully.
  13. I am no expert but I was under the impression that it was the massive dose once a week that stopped the mange. I would be asking more questions if I was you. Zephyr was treated by our vet for mites last year and he had 6 injections over 6 weeks at a cost of $11.50 per injection. + $69.50 You are paying alot more than that.
  14. How are they all going? I am up here with you do you need any help?? PM me
  15. I thought that Ivomec injections over 6 weeks was better than orally but?????

  17. I am sooo sorry for your loss, no words can ever condole the loss of a much loved pet. But at least they have each-other for company on their journey ahead.
  18. I just got a Japanese Chin, she is very quiet but playful and gentle aswell. She has barked a couple of times (at a bucket and the cat) but it is a soft deep bark for such a little dog. Oops I noticed that you have very young children. They may be alittle small for you then.
  19. I am not voting. It soley depends on the dog.
  20. Great Slowone alternative therapy really works
  21. Mine love fish oil capsules they think they are treats and will sit, beg and even drop to get one. They then munch them like lollies
  22. I use Advantage as it is better with Flea Dermitis. Also try looking at diet. I find that Advance Turkey and Rice dry Food and a BARF diet helps. Sometimes a dog with Flea Allergy also is sensitve to additives etc in food. Try Soap Free Shampoo for baths aswell Goodluck Brian from Newcastle from Shar Pei Lover from Newcastle
  23. Sometimes it can also take up to six months before their hormones neutralise after desexing. My male still marks territory and has been desexed for 5 years. Sometimes they always do it. Apple Cider Vinegar works with mine
  24. Oh gess guys Bring on the PORN PS is this guy seroius???????
