I would also recommend gettting his ears cleaned out, I have noticed with the Shar Pei that fly's are constantly around their ears when they have ear infections Just a shot. I hope he feels better soon, and is it possible for you to do a photo thread?

I hope he is OK I am sending lots of vibes Ollies way and I really hope that he feels better soon

Debarking is taking away a dogs ability to communicate, it is cruel. Better for them to be PTS I think, but that is my opinion I have noticed that no where has his exercise routine been mentioned. He is a 10 month old teenager, who is from a very active breed. Have you tried taking him on a big walk late at night to tire him out? How much daily exercise does he get. Why not get up at 4.55am and take him for a walk, before he starts barking.? I would not be bringing another dog home until his problems are worked out as the other dog will copy his behaviour and then you will have 2 barking dogs

Can You Feed An Adult Dog Puppy Food?

Can you get Advance near where you are? Advance High Energy is good for weight maintenance and putting weight on dogs, it is also not hugely expensive and a 15 kg bag cost about $70.00 -

Charcoal helps but put 2 peppermint leaves in her dinner every second day, stop the gagging and taste factor when they let rip. Some tuna should clear her out

Sounds to me like a typical Shar Pei puppy on his first night of puppy preschool. continue doing all the right things that the others above have mentioned I would also recomend making him tired before preschool with a walk and a play. I also do not feed my puppy's dinner before school as it makes them more focused on the treats. Worked for me Pity you are not in Newcastle I have a large male Shar Pei at home that loves to put dominant little puppies in their place. He is no different to his Shar Pei heritage, just work with him and he will be fine

I am interested in this, do you squirt it into the ear like Leo Peibe? How often can you use it, daily/weekly? How did you ear of this mix? thanks in advance Holly I use it weekly normally after baths and swimming. You need to make sure that you dry the ears out well though. I got it from an old Chinese man that I know that had Shar Pei years ago and that is what they used. I then went and did some research on it and it is mentioned in the CSIRO natural therapy book for dogs. It works for me but I would be careful just in case it does not work for you ETA. Yes you squirt it in the ear like Leo
-
Did the vet suggest preventative treatments? Leo is great, but i use 1/3 cup apple cidedar vinegar and 2/3 warm water. I would only use the Leo though unless you wish to experiment (i do not recommend this) I only tried the apple cidedar vinegar because it does not burn sore inflamed ears like the alcohol based ones do. Diet plays a huge factor in my dogs ear infections, they can only eat Advance dry food as it is low in yeast and preservitives. Something that really makes their ears play up are pigs ears. So I do not give them pigs ears anymore

I can understand how you feel. Maybe she needs a longer course of antibiotics or stronger ones, I would also invest in an ear cleaner and start cleaning her ears weekly. I have found that this helps

Get her anal glands done and then start adding 2 leaves of peppermint to her dinner every other day. It really helps with gas

I am talking about my female Shar Pei winterpaws, she is getting her nose out of joint with all the foster doggies coming and going and is getting stroppy with me, then sooky, then bossy, then whingy. I will not bring her though as she can be selective with dogs and sometimes does not like them on sight. I am interested in the lead pulling. I have a SWF that is dog aggressive, human aggressive etc if K9 is interested? -
Minty Is Sick - At Vets On Drip
peibe replied to Animal House's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Sorry Cazbear I hope Minty is alright soon, My Jewel had something similar to this when she was about 14 weeks old, vomiting, diahorrea and listlessness. She recovered in 2 days and we never found out what is was. Is it possible that she has eaten something like some plant matter that has made her ill? Do not worry to much I am sure she will be OK, sending possitive thoughts and prayers your way
