  1. It is hard sometimes, but my Shar Pei boy cannot have zuchini, squash, rhubbarb or watermelon, gives him bad gas, belly aches and the runs. Rhubbarb is the worst though Took us a long time to find out what his problem was. We went back to feeding him chicken, then introduced rice, then slowely over months one vegetable at a time to work out which ones caused problems. Goodluck Also forgot lamb does not agree with him either
  2. That is the best news I have heard today Jodie, I am sitting here at work with tears streaming down my face Well Done Ollie Dog, what a fighter yippeee
  3. Never heard of a dog having problems like that with Advance. I would be contacting his breeder, talking to them about his skin and itchyness and going for a visit at the vets.
  4. Sorry to hear that Raf is still unwell Did the vet recommend a chicken and rice only diet aswell?
  5. Get him off the Pal, horrid stuff, I recommend Advance, Large Puppy Growth I would still check your garden and yard, he maybe laying in something that is making him itchy What do you bath him in?
  6. I didn't he found him in the act
  7. Nothing lol My Shar Pei do not dig, they may get dirty ha But Otto (boston x Pug) is another story, he ate OH's 15 year old Bonsai lemon tree the other day. OH still is not talking to him lol
  8. Great the Hunter Valley, just what we need a outbreak up here like Sydney is getting Can you please PM me confidentially with the vets location I will not post it but would like to avoid it at all costs
  9. I am thinking of you and Ollie dog Jodie I hope that he is feeling better tomorrow Hugs to you both
  10. Have you wormed her? The Advance is a great diet, I would be giving her dry kibble once a day for her teeth not wet food all the time There is nothing wrong with giving a puppy a chicken wing or neck. Just sit with them while they eat it to make sure they do not choke
  11. I would say that a vet would be the only one to put your mind at ease fully But parvo makes us paranoid, really how many of us that rescue smell poo for that tell tale parvo smell? (gross I know but.........) I hope she feels better soon
  12. It is horrible and what is worse is breeders do not have to test breeding stock for this.
  13. I am not going to be able to make it, OH has had an accident (he is OK) but he is bedridden for 3-4 weeks and I cannot find the time to get away
  14. Thanks Applepei, I knew you would have a better spin and more information than I. Can you look at the Bearcoat bitch in Renbury? There are only pictures in the rescue forum, but it looks like it to me
  15. I hope it does not happen again myself, pretty scary hey? I have a very good vet that trusts me, lol. Most vets will not give them though
  16. I have done alot of study into this and have found that Swollen Hock Syndrome and Familial Shar Pei Fever etc are the same thing. A pup can have attacks under 1 year and then never have them again. Some dogs have attacks later in life FSF was never in Australia because we imported the original stock out of China, it has only become apparent here in the last 10 years or so due to alot of American imports Sadly breeders are not made test for this disease in their breeding stock and I know of Registered Breders who have had this come up in the lines and do nothing about it Sadly most Pei with this disease die before they reach 4 years old The University in Sydney is treating some Pei with human medication for Gout, I have meet a 9 year old Pei who her owners were not told would live past 2 because of FSF, she is still going strong due to the Gout medication I can contact her owners and ask some more questions if you like? Please do not breed from your bitch now, if the Stud Dog has FSF the results could be disastrous I am hoping that Applepei can come on soon as I am sure she can tell you a story about FSF
  17. Something to remember aswell is everytime they get stung by the same "thing" it gets worse. It took 4 bee stings for my girl to have welts all over her body and almost die, now I carry an epi-pen
  18. So sorry Rozzie and Mr R, I hope Keera is now able to run free So sorry for your loss
  19. Why no bring Bella inside to sleep and leave Bruno in the laundry, will give her some break time and help him learn it is OK to be on his own?
  20. Sorry I cannot help at all, but I kinda think it is funny. Almost like she is saying "Now stay out"
  21. K9: Pardon? Sure I can do that... K9: have some great ideas... when it comes closer, email me & maybe I will get you to bring your dog along as a demo dog... Vibe collars arent the best & on the nite I will explain why if you ask... OK, sounds good to me
  22. I have a deaf 4 months old Dally bitch, (foster dog) that I am going to be training, I would love a vibration collar but they are expensive. I would like any pointers LOL No laughing, I did not think it was that funny lol
  23. I would love to come, Friday would be better for me. Where in the CC are you thinking of? I am in Newcastle I would love some information from K9 on training deaf dogs
  24. I use spray bottles on Shar Pei only, any of you ever tried to train one of the stubborn buggers. Hey LM I have nothing wrong with people having different opinions, but your writing style makes people feel small, you write arrogant. Maybe proof read what you write before you post Cheers
  25. This is what lead me to believe you are not a spray bottle believer I am quoting you above "Many ppl think this type of thing is acceptable to use to stop unwanted behaviours" end quote If you are not saying you do not like them you need to be cleared in your writing ability, I was not the only one who assumed you did not like them, :D Sorry for thread hijack, but really LM, you are too judgemental and not good at a debate at all, you take everything literall
