Such a hard thing to go through
I will be thinking of your brother, nephew and family today at the sad passing of a wonderful old boy
Run pain free Rocky

I will never forget the time I took Bertha a foster girl to the vet and he wanted a urine sample, here I am walking the streets in peak hour traffic trying to get a sample
Every time she squated I put the frying pan under her and she jumped up and ran LOL
Everyone in their cars was laughing

I have a similar problem with my male Pei
As long as he does not see me leave he does not carry on. I put him in his crate upstairs with a bone or pig ear and he is fine
If he sees me go out the door with the female or sees me walk off up the street he howls until I come home
-
We are all crazy dog people LOL
and you do not have to tell people you brought it LOL
-
If I had the money and the situation was the same as yours why not
Go for it

Lamb is fatty, when I have had skinny rescue dogs I have brought them lamb flaps
The satin balls work too

Twice a day in my house for a few reasons
1) barrel chested
2) I would hate to go 24 hours between feeds
Main meal gets feed in the morning so they have a better chance of working it off during the day LOL

No Cosmolo.
Unbelievably pup has been rehomed. To a vet of all people.
She knows his problems and is happy to work with him.
If it doesn't work out, I still have my hand up to take him on.
Fingers crossed on this one - I'm a little disappionted as I was all geared up to take him. Thank you for your help though and if it doesn't work out, I will be emailing you straight away for advice.
If the vet is aware, fingers crossed she can help him
Good home all round maybe

My dogs had very dry coats when I was using it
They did not like it very much either
-
I did not mean to bite your head off, I am just sick of all the dogs out there
I own Shar Pei, and I never take my dogs to off leash parks, not because they start trouble but one reason is if someone starts on them, they finish it.
I think dog leash free parks are an accident waiting to happen, I have noticed at alot of them the main dogs there are undertrained and aggressive
I keep my walks to street walking and we go to the beach and lake when there are not alot of other dogs around. They are never allowed off lead. My Pei where raised with lots of different dogs, especially small ones, they want to play with them all but can scare the crap out of them as they charge up
If I was you I would keep your dog out of situations that cause him stress. Go back to Puppy Preschool with him and start again
ETA, pups as young as 8 weeks can be desexed, once he has 2 testes he can be done, but the vet can also find them if they are not both down.
-
That is where you are wrong, I am not a breeder or shower, I am a rescuer
Where all the pups desexed before they where rehomed? If not more accidents will happen
and if you bother to read any of my posts you will understand that I normally am not a bitch, but accidental litters from seemingly intelligent people have to stop
-
I do not like flooding either, unless you are a trained professional
-
i didnt breed my girl with the male on purpose, i didnt even know she was on heat til it was too late and i wasnt gonna terminate the pregnancy cos of that. rocky is doing much better now thanks to everyone that had something constructive to say
I did have something constructive to say, desexing dogs is important and not breeding dogs with bad temps is important too
What did you think? You could have a female and male dog neither are desexed and you would not get puppies
I suppose you gave the other pups away free to friends?
Sorry but that quote above shits me to tears, if everyone out there stopped having accidental litters thousands of dogs would not die every year
-
So sorry to hear that you have been through so much
If I was you I would be trying to return the puppy to his breeder and taking more time for you and Polly to over come your loss
Cassie is still with you
-
I do not like dogs sleeping outside, but that is me not you
I would be getting a nice warm kennel for both to share and adding lots of warm bedding
I would also make them sleep outside from day one, while I do not approve it is harder to change from inside to out once you have started it
Goodluck and remember to post pics

Do you have a behaviourist involved with your rescue?
I would talk to them, sometime by doing the wrong thing with a fearful pup you can make it worse
Goodluck, when they come back from this they are wonderful

We are always sad when the oldies pass... Blinky was different... I still fill her food bowl.... crap... it's sad...
So sorry to hear this Rozzie, you both do so much for the oldies and loose far too many
I still fill Neddys bowl and he has been gone 8 months
-
So sorry to hear that Gordie has passed
May he run free now and be free from all the issues he was having recently
-
Never thought of using a tampon calliech. Interesting
I use a piece of flannel cloth to wipe ears
-
This is great
I am having alot of problems with my boys ears
Leo keeps giving him infections, Oti-Clean is too strong and leaves his ears red, and the Apple Cider Vinegar and water is not working
Off to give it a try tonight
-
Sounds like he is genetically scared
This is why dogs with temp problems should not be used as breeding stock
Goodluck

Something quick to add
My 2 Pei where a pain in the proverbial butt at soccer game, but as we are very sporty people I wanted them to learn to sit and behave.
So I took my good metal crate and a water gun
The dog sat in the crate and whenever they made too much noice they got a squirt from the water bottle
They both come to soccer now and wait

Sorry I cannot offer any help that has not already been offered
we were going to buy a golden retreiver . but after advice, were told by several people to expect 2 years of , destruction, we decided against it . my parents brought back memories of "FONZY" the one we had when we were kids . i remember canyons in the yard . the boat railer lights being chewed up , and clothes all over the back yard from the washing line, and trees being ripped out of the garden .so we bought our cocker intead . only tiny holes in the yard , he has chewed the box trailer cable twice, chewed up the transformer , and the switch and power lead . twice , on the kids $500 outdoor air hockey table . the 2 floor waste plumbing pipes that come out of each side of our house, and all the kids clothes get torn when they go outside . luckily he cannot reach the clothes on the clothesline yet . he liokes puling out the garden solar lights as well . even with pet repellant on them , and chews our palms in the pot plants , but he cant pull them out , he's too small .
in this respect i'm glad we got a cocker , because if it was a big do doing this , i would be devastated .
Franks gotta love a Cocker ;)

My Shar Pei hate the slicker brush like you use, if I use a softer brush it takes longer (and is not as good) at getting the fur out but they keep still and enjoy it
I think the Slicker Brush pokes them

When I am sick my dogs are with me 24/7, I currently have the flu and both sat in the shower last night
Lots of dogs need their routine exactly the same, when it changes it upset them
I would say she loves you and just wanted to be with you
