I need to do up an agreement for co ownership, are there any templates available anywhere? We have come to a verbal agreement but want to put it on paper. When I sell my pups to pet people I use the contract/agreement from dogs vic website with my own variation on a couple of clauses, is there something similar I can print out from somewhere or is it something I should just write up on my computer and print out? Never done co ownership before, so its all new to me so any advice would be great. Cheers, KM

One of my little girls I bred was registered on limited reg and I would like to upgrade her to the main. How do I do this, there isnt a section to upgrade on the back of the form, I vaguely remember there used to be? I would also like to put her in co ownership, can they do all this together or should i upgrade first and then transfer to co ownership. Thanks

Yep Im having trouble also. Ive had 2 bags on order for three weeks now and have had to buy another brand, then managed to get some from a friend who was heading up this way. Makes it hard when my puppies are being raised on it as part of their diet and Im trying to get all my puppy buyers to buy it. I think I'll be changing brands to something more accessible.

Thanks everyone! I was going to have her teeth pulled this week but he could only do it tues or wednesday and I just couldnt make it (I live 3 hours away) so it will be in the next couple of weeks when the specialist gets back from being away. This little girl was going to go to a friend of mine in co ownership but after she came down and we compared her and one of the others, we decided on her taking the other girl. I'd still like to see this one in the ring though, whether she stays with me or in co ownership with someone else, as I didnt want another girl here right now, Im not yet sure, I think she is still too nice just to pet home.

Well we have excellent news!! We took her to the specialist today and she does NOT have a wry mouth! She has an incisor up the top which is not in the correct position and has pushed the canine next to it out a little, which gives the appearance that it is wry. He said its like an optical illusion, but her jaw is level, both sides are same length and all other teeth match up. She is having that incisor and her bottom canine pulled out to give her adult teeth the best chance to come through in the correct position, which he is confident will occur and said not to be too concerned and he wouldnt be putting her in a pet home.

Chicken Mince And Eagle Pack Dry
Kaffy Magee replied to Kaffy Magee's topic in General Dog Discussion
Thanks everyone! I have a friend sussing out some mince and bones for me as she lives in the area, she might pick some up for me, to save me runnning around, otherwise I'll try some of the suggestions. I normally get my mince delivered locally but i forgot to order this week and i now have none TLC, I normally get my EP from Dogulas but they arent very reliable. I am going through a fair bit of it atm with 20 puppies and 5 dogs to feed. Ive had 2 bags on order for 2 weeks but apparently the suppliers dont even have it. I might try traralgon on the way down. I would assume its would be roughly the same price. Thanks all! -
Im heading to hallam (vic) tomorrow from far east gippsland and want to pick up some cheap chicken mince( and carcasses etc too if I can) and also some eagle pack dry food. Does anyone know of somewhere in the area I can get these at a good price. Thanks

Thanks guys! If it was overshot we were dealing with I wouldnt be too concerned as I know they do often correct themselves. But a wry bite is more serious. Stolzseinrotts you have given me hope. Her muzzle and underjaw is strong and broad. What Im hoping for is that it isnt a "wry" bite but each side is growing at a different rate and the other side will catch up. Im going to take her to DAvid Clarke the veterinary dental specialist and see what he has to say. I cant just pet home her without having it properly diagnosed.

OF course it is my pick bitch that has a wry bite. I had noticed it, however wasnt sure if that was what it was as I had never seen one. Well today its confirmed she has a wry bite. I have been told it wont correct itself from a breeder I do respect, but of course Ive been madly googling, looking for that little ray of hope(as you would when its your pick bitch), that it might correct itself since she is still growing. And I have found some info to indicate it might correct itself but also info that says it wont, however in this instance I think they were talking about older puppies/dogs. So this is something I found: Wry Mouth: When one side of the jaw (right or left, not upper or lower) grows at a more rapid pace than the other, this causes a twisting of the mouth known as wry mouth. Wry mouth can cause a severe handicap when it comes tograsping items or chewing food, and gives a very lopsided appearrance. This condition can be temporary, correcting itself as the othr side catches up in growth. And this, despite her personal opinion, indicates that it can be corrected as a baby. First, I want to say that if the bite is incorrect on an 8 week old puppy, I personally do not believe a bite can be corrected. If a bite goes off after 8 weeks – (1) undershot; (2) overshot; or wry mouth*, the appropriate teeth need to be removed – either upper and lower jaw or the teeth in the jaw that are binding (i.e., if the bite is undershot, then remove the upper jaw teeth; if the bite is overshot, remove the lower jaw teeth; if the bite is wry, the canines should be removed because they are locking in place the way the teeth are coming in. Removing those baby teeth allow the adults to come down into place like they should. Remember that not only do the upper and lower jaws grow at a different rate, each side of the jaw grows at a different rate thus making the bite look like it is a wry bite. Because toy breed dogs seem to have those baby teeth anchored in so tight, they often mess up a bite severely. Baby teeth can make adult teeth come out making the teeth more forward (almost horizontal**) rather than straight up and down (vertical) and can cause the permanent adult teeth to appear inside the parameters of the teeth line (almost roof of the mouth). AND this(even though it is about Clumber spaniels). A WRY bite is where the line of the upper incisors and the line of the lower incisors do not match, that is they are not parallel to each other. In Clumbers, sometimes, for a few months during growth, a bite may be wry and them straighten, but not always. SO has anyone had a wry bite in a baby that HAS corrected itself. I dont want to just give up on her if there is a chance it could come good. TIA ETA: she is only 6.5 weeks not 7, not that it probably makes much difference.

I have an Altegra and I think its great quality. But it is heavy, so I bought an oz trail compact as well for those days where the weather will be just nice or when Im on my own etc. If its going to be hot or cold/windy/rainy I'll take my altegra.

Ima bout to drive 40 minutes to another town to get my first bag of it. My girls and now puppies have been on eagle pack, holistic select, but my stockist can get any more in until next week and I need it now. No other place in town or the neighbouring towns stocks EP, but I was offered Artemis at a good price, so Im going to give it a go. If the dogs do well on it, then I'll stick to it and just travel to get it as my local EP supplier is not very relaible at all.

Well I would always opt for two. With my recent matings(fresh AI) I did 2 with the first girl, she had 9 and could only arrange one mating with the second girl and she had 11. I didnt prog test either. I think only one mating is neccessary if the timing is spot on, but I prefer two just for that added assurance.

Poll- How Many Dogs And If You Work Full Time
Kaffy Magee replied to jazawayaya's topic in General Dog Discussion
I normally work 5 days a week but i have cut back to 2 days at the moment as I have puppies on the ground. My OH also works 5 days, however he works days and I work evenings, so there is always someone home. Before this job I worked days aswell and hated that I didnt have as much time for the dogs, so thats one of the main reasons I switched employment. I have 5 dogs and I'll be keeping 1 most likely 2 puppies from my current litters. -
My pups are only feeding morning and night from the mums now. Yesterday morning I heard one of the puppies trying to throw up. By the time I got there to check it stopped and I didnt know which one it was. No vomit. All puppies seem fine and continued to seem fine during the day, eating well, drinking, lively. HOwever whilst out in the sun yesterday morning I noticed one of my girls mammary glands(not the teat itself) was swollen. I felt it, it didnt feel hard or hot at that stage as such, just "full" so I tried to put a couple of puppies on her while she was standing there incase it just needed draining, neither of them would touch that nipple. SO I lay her down and put them all on her and one began to suck that nipple. All done, however it didnt make any difference to the swelling. Then I thought it must be mastitis. I took her temp which was 38.9, so still ok, but I rang and made an appointment with the vet aswell. By the time we got to the vet her temp was 40.3 and the lump was hard and very hot. SO she is on antibiotics, last night while I was at work my OH put them on her for their feed before bed (I was planning to tell him not to put them on her, but forgot in my rush to get to work, they are on 4 solid meals a day). Anyways this morning I wake up to another puppy trying to throw up, and then 2 more followed. No actual vomit from any of them , just the sound of trying to. All still seem lively, healthy, no runny poos and all ate breakfast. SO after doing a mad panic in my head of "what if its the start of parvo"?? I thought I would get on here and ask if the pups have drank from that teat do you think thats what is causing the attempts to vomit? The milk itself "looks" fine, but I would assume that it isnt? The fact they have only, to my knowledge, tried to vomit in the morning, which is after the night feed, would say its the milk doing it, but I just need a little reassurance. Ive never dealt with mastitis before, so this is a first for me. Im going to get some cabbage leaves today and try those aswell. TIA

Im looking for a really good link to crate training information. I havent got the time at the moment to search through them all so thought I would see if anyone has one they know of off the top of their head. I have a really nice person buying a puppy from me and he originally didnt want the puppy inside at all, however we have spoken about this and I have encouraged him to have the puppy inside of an evening for family time. He wants him to sleep in the insulated garage attached to house during the night though, which is fine. Anyway I mentioned crate training briefly to him on the phone which he was really apprehensive about and I just wanted to send him some good, correct information to him regarding crates and their uses. So does anyone have any links they want to share? Thanks
