  1. To go outside when the door is shut Jade sits there waiting for you to open it, but if you haven't noticed she might make some kind of soft barking noise. She also might launch off the couch and make funny woofing noises while running to the back door. To get back inside she knocks on he door. At the computer desk she puts her chin on my mouse arm so I can't move. Because it's cold at the moment, she stands over my face (er.. while im in bed) at whatever time in the morning. If I stay asleep, she headbutts me/tries to lift the doona up with her nose to jump in. Also, if I am sick, and passed out in bed/couch during the day, a big lick to the face is sure to scare the sht out of me, and wake me up from that much needed sleep.
  2. Thanks for the replies everyone. I have emailed the Canberra Boarding Kennel out that way *points towards sydney* to take a look at what they have to offer...otherwise I will have a chat to Nicole Unfortunately we're not going to sydney or the snow...!
  3. Perhaps, will talk to Ben. I know our dogs get along, but he's worried about her "escaping" and trying to run home/find me. You know what she's like, she'll be fine down at the river running around/playing with people, but as soon as I run up to the shed she's next to me like a shadow. Thanks for the offer though, I really appreciate it.
  4. Hello I'm possibly going away in Oct/Nov this year, for a week+. For various reasons we have decided the best option is a boarding kennel. Anyway, I am asking if anyone can recommend or not recommend anywhere. I am able to find contact details online, but I guess I am after personal experiences. The only reviews I've been able to find is one from riotact: http://the-riotact.com/?p=18251 I have never put my puppy in a kennel and am quite anxious about it all. She is fine when she is right beside me out in the open world, but the most we've been away from each other in 4 years would be a day or two. She isn't the most outgoing puppy, and can take time to warm to some people. I live in belconnen. Sorry if there is a thread about this already - I wasn't able to find it. Thanks
  5. Im not sure how to help, but it reminded me of something that happened last night. We got a new muffin tray thing, and my bf took the cardboard bits off the tray. He was then holding it up and reading something on there, but my dog started growlying and her fur stood up...... im guessing she thought it was 12 eyes or something. We put the cardboard on the ground, and she was happy to sniff it, but as soon as my bf held it up to his face again, she growled
  6. Jade standing around Jade nad Max running back towards us
  7. when i started the food thing, I held onto the food bowl and made her sit, then put it down in front of her. I'm now able to walk out, and she will sit. i can now put the food down and shout out a billion of different words, but she knows "go" is the only command to eat. That worked for me, but my girl is pretty placid. Then again, being my first dog ever I'm surprised anything I'm doing is acutally working.
  8. at 6am I got up and looked out the window, to see Jade jumping around like a fruitloop. Next doors keeshond made his way through the fence... and they were playing. Its been almost 2 hrs since I got up, and I think shes worn him out. Next door dont seem to be awake. I tried knocking on their door at about 710, but i think they're all fast asleep.
  9. aww how cute. Do they know what kind of dog he is?
  10. off-lead stuff is going really well. I wasn't 100% sure, but the area I take her for her walks is all off lead :D Yesterday I had her off lead for about 90% of the time. Luckily shes still weary of people and dogs, so if there is soemone else about shes right beside me :D Shes such a good little girl!! Love her to bits!!
  11. I always hear/read stuff about other ppl's dogs growling over food. I'm glad my pup is perfect.. she has never growled, and let me pat her and take her bowl away half way through eating :D sorry... this doesnt help you1
  12. my dog likes bits of paper, but not newspaper.
  13. My dog does that sometimes, however not as much as she used to. shes 6 months old now.
  14. wohoo, this morning I tried walking her off-lead , for a few short goes and she did really well, and came when called :p Very excited!
  15. hahaha yeh. I think its a possum......... but she was silent last night (either that or i was dead asleep)
  16. ah nice one. Yeh my house donest work like that unfortunately.
  17. wohooooo!! She was being a little shit last night and barking at a possom or something... so i let her stay inside......... finally, she didnt piss on the carpet!! Shes 6 months old in 2 days
  18. my puppy who is 5.5 months old now, was terrified at first, but she grew more and more confident, especially after doggy school.
  19. She was naughty yesterday, I left some biscuits .. i cant remember what theyre called, they're savory ones at least not chocolate.. anyway left them on the table, came out to find the box totally ripped apart, and the silver stuff totally licked clean. Luckily I had put the panadol away becuase I left it right beside the packet of biscuits. Later I found her on the couch eaching my previously in perfect condition, visual basic box (erm.. programming thing). I mean, the box was a perfect door stop and footrest, but it WAS in perfect condition. She was sitting beside me most of the afternoon, but then she'd wander off away from me, and that is where i find her, eating anything cardboard!!
