Has Anyone Had Any Dealings With Bow Wow Meow Pet Insurance?
fluff1234 replied to Snippy's topic in General Dog Discussion
We have just got bow wow for our husky after reading heaps of great reviews. we have petplan with our other dog, but their huge price increase and heaps of negative reviews lately, put me off as well as issues with contacting them and them taking too much out my account! -
We have gone with Bow wow after reading the reviews page :)

see recommendations for pet secure and 1300 pet insurance, any reviews? :)

Hi all we are currently with Pet plan, but upon adding my new dog, despite getting a email quote for the basic they will not honour it as says its a glitch and want me to pay way more than quoted. All the prices have shot up and its now too expensive and they are moving my other dog upto the new plan upon renewal. SO looking for a cheapoer plan which is still good, is RSPCA ok? any others you recommend? thanks

Hi all, I have my pup covered by pet plan Supreme, we got a rehome husky 3.5 mths ago and wanted to insure her too but its all changed and she will cost more on the basic cover than he costs on the top cover? I am guessing its all changed as I put in my pups details and the new plans will cost $20 a mth more!! any other insurance companies recommended which are cheaper? keeping him on the plan he is as he is cheaper on the old plan, but wanting to cover her for basic too.

subscribing to this thread as I really dislike chemical spot ons and it causes one dog to pant for two night following application, looking for a safer alternative but we live in a high paralysis tick area
-
Hi, just checking, I just treated my dogs again with frontline, I HATE spot ons, due to the chemical exposure for not only my poor dogs but also we have kids which are hands on with the dogs and snuggly cuddle loving dogs! One dog also pants all night for 2 nights following spot on treatments... I live in Qld southside, in a high paralysis tick area... is tick season over? Can I miss it a few mths now? is there any natural spray such as neem or Diatomaceous Earth, such as in HerbaGuard Powder, ACV, garlic (how much) brewers yeast, Citrus Spray, vinegar spray etc.. do they work??

Holistic Select And Blackhawk
fluff1234 replied to fluff1234's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
thanks, i think from what i have read both foods are similar comparison wise but one is shipped from the States, hence the costs, the other is Australian made. I did email them and they said both dgs can eat the adult. -
Holistic Select And Blackhawk
fluff1234 replied to fluff1234's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Thanks :) Will switch them both to the adult :) he is already 2 inches bigger than the measuurements on the guides to how big they get!! He is a big boy... -
Hi all I currently have a 4yr old husky who we feed Blackhawk in the morning and raw evening and a 9mth sammy pup whom we feed holistic select in the morning and raw in the evening. I am getting to the end of his 13.5kg bag and wanting to switch him to the Blackhawk. One its more convinient having one food and hopefully one bag and two its cheaper. Is the Blackhawk as good as the holistic? Can the adult husky eat the puppy version? if not why not? I buy in bulk and two large bags is a pain and the smaller ones are not as cost effective anyway. thanks

We watch her all day and use it at night when we go to bed.
-
I would just use it, my dog hated it and disnt appear to lick, so we didnt bother, but ended up with an infection, vet says it takes ONE lick and thats it, she has had 7 days of antibiotics and needs another 7 and ended up with the collar on far longer than it should of been !

Introducing An Adult Dog To The Household, 2 Dogs
fluff1234 replied to fluff1234's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
I have to take her to the vets tomorrow, its looking a little green gunky again! she is probably feeling out of sorts anyway, she is still not eating and is sleeping all day. I do not have the layout to seperate, we already have babygates to keep from the bedrooms and to prevent front door dashes, the rest is open plan. I have put her night crate in the room, but she has no interest in hiding away and will walk right upto him too look out of the door, I will be vigilant in watching him and preventing him, I think your right, he seems her as a play toy! I will make sure he gets lots of playtime outside and I hope it works out. I really would hate to have to find her ANOTHER new home when its my boy who is the issue and NOT her She appears to be an amazing young lady.. -

Introducing An Adult Dog To The Household, 2 Dogs
fluff1234 replied to fluff1234's topic in Training / Obedience / Dog Sports
Thank you. I am keeping him away from her currently, same room but a way apart, there is no way to keep her completely seperate, as she doesnt like the crate too much and is reluctantly with us carrying her, going in it at night! She also is craving our attention, so locking her away elsewhere would be very traumatic. I am taking my boy with me, when I run errands in the car. I am able to have leashes on them at all times and keep him away other than a few very very supervised hellos and nose sniffs which she is happy with. He has been at training since he was 3 mths old and doesnt really have much interest with the dogs all around him, he can happily walk around the circle and show no interest in the other dogs, but this is in his home and he is a very excitable and playful boy who doesnt seem to 'get' the warning signs? He just seems too pester her to play, he is also a little heavy footed/clumsy, he is a very big samoyed! He also has never lived with another dog, so this is all exciting and new to him, she lived with two other dogs, cats and horses.
