Thanks, it's pretty close to what I was after - the background is an a4 print of a snapshot from my holiday last year (Devon, UK). (This is not a weekly photo, nothing to see here..) I'm really enjoying this project. It's making me try stuff I wouldn't otherwise.

Yep, my last pic was a water lily - A pink "hardy", probably "Rosennymphe". It was my 'backup' picture as the more adventurous pics of a moving critter didn't meet my expectations/hopes. Things that stay still are so much easier :-) (some quick comments on the posts since my last one) MTD - Lovely shot, reminds me of growing up on the farm. MnDM - what a yawn! Great set of pics. pixie_meg - sweet picture, real impression of fragility and tenderness gapvic - Really pretty portrait - I saw the earlier version and liked it too as it had a dark feel to it ... although that may not have been what you were after. (I'm just a goth at heart) The pic this week of your filly and you is beautiful, even without ears :-) Jessca - too funny, amazing how all the noise and teeth can just be in fun. huga - great mood, I can almost feel how 'her' head must! anniek - I had to really look at the second pic to find Ben, and now I look again and there's TWO greys in the shot! Love how Cody looks peaceful yet alert in the first one. MrRedDog - Pretty shot, are you using anything special for the lighting? Butternut - I'm a sucker for a cemetery shot .. where was it taken? Are they soldiers graves? Unusual to see so many matching headstones, although I saw lots in europe last year in war cemeteries. Fattima - Great angle on the wall shot .. it looks really imposing. gila - Lovely portrait - you'll have some lovely memories from this project. Misteri - Cute nose! There's something endlessly fascinating about dog noses. dogfan - I see clowns ... I think.... dragon? really? I had a purple photo this week but it didn't make the cut ... it's getting harder to not be derivative .. and it's only week 3 ! KumaAkita - oh oh... they're going to jump out and take over that pretty lawn any minute...

Not that I know of. I'm not much bothered as it will take me a while to outgrow 3 anyway. For those downloading the beta, I noticed that Lynda.com has a *FREE* set of videos about LR4 (free for the duration of the beta)

Of course it is .... ... I bought Lightroom3 last Friday....

Here's mine for this week - afternoon, Botanic Gardens Sydney 52 Weeks Set, on Flickr.

Crazy Cresties - Great pic of Louis! Amazing how black and while can convey the beach feeling just as well as colour. redangel - Love the portrait and the quote .. no need to hide behind the camera at all! Monet n Diva's Mum - The close up of the Snow Leopard's eye with the reflection is awesome. MrRedDog - Lovely tree shot - reminds me of a Namatjira painting. Your second may inspire me to the self portrait theme too.. anniek - Great energy. TangerineDream - Magpies are such cool birds, that's a beaut picture Jessca - Really nice early morning picture - really captures the light nicely. Butternut - I like the way your shot is really symmetrical and a bit one dimensional (try squinting:-), yet just so slightly .. not... I love fungi pics. Snook - very powerful self portrait pixie_meg - They're both lovely - but I think the chicken has the edge. KumaAkita - The metal thing looks like it's floating ...I like it. Gila - Wow that's some serious produce! Another great self portrait. Fattima - Pretty shot! Do we see a bubbles theme developing? Misteri - lovely mix of soft and spiky! lovemesideways - Quite the glamourpuss! well done. Kym and Adrian - whoa! totally hypnotic!

Is this a local council thing or statewide Tralee? I've not come across this rule before. Do you have a link?

If you're going to fence across wildlife travel paths you might want to research wildlife friendly fencing. The chicken style mesh seems to be preferred over deer mesh as roos don't tend to get their legs stuck in it if they underestimate the fence height. In NSW the containment systems have to be used in conjunction with a physical fence, and electrified fences cannot be stock type ones (I think ping string is still legal, haven't read up on it for a while)

I'd like to join in as well.. Last year (2011) I spent 6 weeks in Europe and came home with around 5000 pictures, many of which are less than good - although most will be kept as I am a person who needs the photos to trigger the memories. My project this year is to improve my photography so that more of my travel pictures can be worth showing to someone else:-) With no further ado .. here is my first for 2012 - an image I find very compelling despite not having seen it in the viewfinder at all.... (small amount of post processing in Lightroom) Link to large version on Flickr << CLICK HERE FOR THE BIG PICTURE Low res preview attached

My favourite bag maker has just brought out a dog walking bag, complete with bag dispenser. Citizen Canine I have several of their products and can vouch for the quality and customer service, I'm sadly dogless at present so can't justify this one .... (downside - they ship to Australia with UPS and it is expensive - so best to pool orders or use a shipping service)

Does Anyone Else Have A Dog With Ibd?
dwynwen replied to ibon's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
There's a good yahoo group "IBDogs" It was very helpful when my first Akita was diagnosed with IBD. You might try finding a holistic vet as well. -
Sydney Vet A - $225 via IDEXX - results in 30 DAYS Sydney Vet B - $99 direct to WA. note to self - next time ask the damned price before getting blood taken.... (the tragic thing is that vet B was my usual vet and I only avoided them because I couldn't face going there after losing my furries last year, no prob with vet, just sad sad associations with the clinic)

I've used Meadowmist at Marsden Park (north west'ish) and found their setup ok. (mine were large dogs) They pick up from vets in the Inner West. But of course I'd advise checking them out first.
