  1. haha Steph, sounds like he had a blast at the vets, how is the eye now, still red? maybe start weaning off the 1am toilet runs, your boy is older than mine I think and Koda is fine holding on from 10pm till 6am most nights, wouldn't want it to be a habit that he expects :D I'm out of hospital end of next week, maybe catch up some time after that, I'm sure Gus would get one great with Koda, they sound allot alike
  2. Nice Lisa, I was talking to our breeder and the variety of weight between the pups in one litter was interesting, there is one auzzie there who only just reached 4kg at 12 weeks, she is in perfect shape though and healthy as larry so she just has a smaller build than the rest, I'm thinking she will only be 13-15kg fully grown, my boy was about 7kg at 12 weeks, and there was a good mix between 6-8kg Was your 12 week a C3 or C5 vac? if you got the C5 I would be confident taking nova on the lead around your home, would be good for both of you :D but like you said in the other thread, parvo is the fear and if your vet has locally reported cases recently then its probably not worth the risk just in case your boys maternal antibodies killed off the week 12 vac.
  3. Man I can't wait till Koda gets to the age when he realizes sleeping is a good thing, my boy hates me if he is in his cage longer than 7am
  4. normally koda will sleep through (10-11pm) the night till our alarm goes off at 6am, occasionally, specially if he has drunk too much before bed or has a bad stomach he moans around 4-4:30am for a toilet break.
  5. my boy got C5 at 12 weeks, C3 at 8 weeks and another C5 will be issued at 16 weeks
  6. your right Lisa, koda has done it a few times, but only when we come home from work, he is so excited to see us he does little uncontrolled happy widdles as he does his excited to see you dance. it seems he only does it when he has a full or close to full bladder, almost like he doesn't want to miss out on what's going on so he's trying to hold it it, I think as he grows his ability to hold it will increase and it will stop, every time we see it we take him outside and let him relax out there and 99% of the time he does a full wee :D
  7. Lhok, Awesome news, can't wait to see more details.
  8. The reason you have 3 vaccinations between 8 weeks and 16 weeks is to try and catch the moment when the puppies natural antibodies from birth given to it by its mother have worn off, research shows that this is generally between the 8-12 week mark, but there is still a chance they won't fall off till 12-16 weeks, hence the safety vac at the 16 week mark just in case, there has been debates over whether the 3rd vac is needed but most people take it as it is not worth the risk for a $70 odd fee The reason why we need to try and get a vac in after the maternal antibodies have fallen off or lowered to a set point is because when a vac is given to a pup with a strong material antibody still present those antibodies destroy the majority of the vaccination, so we do 3 to ensure we get the needed immunities into the pup in good time As far as i know the general schedule is 7-8 weeks for the first vac, 11-12 weeks for the 2nd and 15-16 for the third vac As for parvo I would check with your local vet if any cases of it have appeared in the last 2 years, if none then I would say the risk of catching it taking the dog for small walks around your home are highly minimal at best and the benefit to the dogs development will seriously out way the risk involved, then after the second vac taking him to larger parks and areas with more dogs is generally acceptable, then the 3rd vac is kinda a safety vac just in case anyway. this is all from what I have been told so please just take as is :D
  9. He looks gorgeous Daisy, and yes starting to just turn into the gangly stage, he has a few good weeks before he really gets leggy though :D
  10. Oxford University professor! Or an Oxford drop out :D
  11. If I use both my middle names and the full street name: Marshall Charles Coatsville Riverhead Or just one: Marshall Coatsville
  12. I think his father was around the 24-25kg mark, mother is low 20's I think, judging by his feet and the weight gain compared to the other litter mates I would say he would reach at least 23kg+ lean
  13. Yer he is stretching out a bit, the scraggy stage is certainly here, his coat is also allot shorter than most Aussies, he takes after his mother who has a shorter denser coat instead of a longer fluffy coat.
  14. That he is, he was 7.1kg at 12 weeks, will check again at his 16 week injection on the 27th but I'm thinking maybe 9kg
  15. Don't mind if I rest here do you? Actually I think here is a better place What?.. Did you seriously think I was gonna nap in one place, HAHA Hmm.. Maybe over there has a good soft spot to sleep in

  17. My boy is on a Raw diet, it works for him but not for all, my breeder had her dogs on this diet and I decided to keep with it, but again I think its not for every dog, some dogs have been on a particular diet for 2 maybe 3 generations and this will effect they way they digest food. on topic though my boy had a problem with firmness for a week and I found that it was the meat, I switched to veal to add more fat to his diet and it was too rich for him, since i movd back to chicken mince and roo mince he has been good. Also I found that as a intermediate helper bananas gave him a bit of immediate stiffness.
  18. Hey guys quick question, Koda 4 times now that I know of has flemmed (not puked but kinda furball sounding noise) up some wood chippings from the yard, we have black wood mulch on our plant areas and I've caught him a few times chewing on a piece, its a very soft black wood, I've been telling him off when I see it but the problem is he lives out there when we are not home and likely hood he will chew on it during the day if bored. he has lots of bones he prefers to chew on and I try to keep at least one bone out there per day for him to chew on instead but it happened twice today when my OH was home. can this be an issue, should I consider removing the mulch completely? There is allot of it out there EDIT: called the vet and alleviated a few worries, they said its probably from his teething and should pass in time, I just have to keep an eye on him and make sure he isn't out there eating it all the time, if its a little but every now and again its no different to him chewing on a stick he finds. so far the regurgitated amounts are small so will keep my eye on it and keep providing alternate things to chew.
  19. I'm with petplan and so far very happy, "touch wood" I won't have to claim anything any time soon but knowing that I'm covered really puts you at ease.
  20. Koda was only cuddly from 4-8 weeks old, as soon as he got home he decided floors and carpets where more his comfort zones :D
  21. That is serious cuteness overload right there. :D
  22. I'll do my best to get some nice ones tomorrow for you :D
  23. No it hasn't yet, my boys coat though is allot more like his mother than father which is short and dense instead of fluffy and long, I will probably get either a rolled collar or a wide collar.
  24. Koda is on the last hole for his first collar so looking around now for the next one for him, he didn't like this one much and scratches a bit when we walk so might get a softer collar this time around.
  25. He is a very handsome lad, and I think he knows it :D
