I know I read a while back that they have proved that Dogs have the ability to display empathy with their owners, my boy does it, if I'm in knackered and yawn really loud he copies me and makes a yawning noise with a wide open mouth as well, even when I know he is not tired   Humour or humor is the tendency of particular cognitive experiences to provoke laughter and provide amusement, taken from wiki, not sure if our dogs perceive what we do as "amusing" but I'm sure they certainly find it entertaining :D

you need to set the video as public Hankodie :)

Hi Cassie, Welcome to DOL forums your pup is at the same stage as mine and for the next few weeks may flip you off with your commands or not do as asked, just keep your head up and don't loose hope, be persistent and constant.

I must be lucky, my Aussie boy jumps up into his cage inside the back of my 4x4 as soon as I open the door  Although i must admit he doesn't do it when he is knackered (like after a good day out walking) and gives me the "pweeese life me daddy" eyes on the bone question I also steer away from tough bones like beef or other cattle, my boy gets a Soft Veal Marrow bone daily, the bone is soft enough for him to consume it all, any hard bits left over at the end of the day I throw away I get them from tuckertub and they come in 1.5kg bags and are cut in half to expose the marrow. he adores them -

Thanks Lisa, he's looking nice, the second pic reminds me so much of my boy, that look they give you when they are trying to suss what your doing haha -
thanks piper, my budget is around 200-400 depending on what deal I can find so the 500 is a little out of my reach

I got a doggy door for my sliding door, BEST purchase I have made to date, my boy is very quiet and won't let me know if he needs to go out unless he is in the crate at night, the dodgy door has let me work at home without worry that there will be a poo round the corner when i'm done

Hey Lisa what is your boy on food wise, Koda's coat is really shiny, it might be the black though that looks shinier than other colours. -

thanks piper, I was looking at the sigma's. I'm heading to the Melbourne digital show in a few weeks so will see if there are any show specials on then I can nab. I'm looking for a 200 to 300 zoom lens for action shots, not just dogs though, I also photograph aerial photography, mainly large scale model aircraft.

This isn't true. They can, and do, increase their excess along with their rates. Sorry should have been more specific about my quote, their excess is fixed and will not change per "policy year", obviously when you renew they may have upped the rates.

Hi all, I'm having a blast with my A37, had it now for about a year and have picked up allot, got it as a tax prezzie to myself with the 18-55 and 200 lens combo but my 200 was stolen in Singapore on our holiday so looking for another lens to get, the 18-55 3.5-5.6 works fine for portrait like distance but I find it hard to get nice action or outdoor shots with it Anyone with any experience with this camera or any Sony compatible lens or heck lens's in general maybe bestow some advise

I believe the furminator works great for certain breeds but the aussie its a big nono to cut any hair. the only time (and this is rare) you would trim an aussie is the belly and around the pants in the middle of summer IF they have a super heavy large coat. -

What!? I paid $75 for mine! That's awesome! Off to browse their site.... yep same, watching my latest pay check disappear at the same time :D Nooo Jack!! Don't use a furminator on an Aussie!! You'll destroy his coat! Buy an undercoat rake instead, nothing that cuts! Hehe I didn't mean specifically the furminator, I have an undercoat rake for my boy (paw brothers) and two other paw brothers combs my breeder gave me with my pack, NOTHING that cuts :), o and a slicker for general combing, was more interested in the toys and bits and bobs, like adult kongs for $12 :D -
I use petplan, happy with it, know allot who are also happy with it, they are also the only pet insurance company who will cover your pet for life on illness and injury and have a fixed excess that won't change over time.

wow just read the entire thread, was a great incite for me as someone un-experianced with breeding and although some conversations did venture into arguments I must say I'm happy i spent the time, I know the opening post has probably been lost in the journey this thread has taken but I just wanted to say thanks to MonElite for posting this for us and I hope that all the pups found a loving and caring home

"you shouldn't be so cruel to you dog, he is only young" Got this one when my boy was creating unacceptable behaviour outside the sliding door while we hosted a dinner party inside, to which I promptly put in a verbal stop, he obeyed with no issues and went back to playing happily. No wonder some houses we go to there is no sense of control and wonder why their companions do not listen to any commands at all.

Thanks JackC. Are there any penalties for switching over to standard once you've started on budget though? I assume if my boy has treatment for a condition while we are covered on budget then if we upgrade to standard, he will never be covered for that same condition again as it will be considered pre-existing? No they would cover it as you are not ending your budget policy, just upgrading it, you would probably have to wait till the end of the budget policy cover though and when you "renew" you renew as a standard, as long as the condition only started 21 days after the initial budget policy was taken out you should be ok: straight from their website: "Yes Petplan will cover the costs of hereditary and congenital disorders as long as the pet has not shown clinical signs of the condition prior to cover commencing or within the 21 day waiting period.". "Cover for the treatment costs for Veterinary Fees attributed to accidents, injuries or illnesses which may happen to your pet, providing they occurred after taken out insurance with Petplan. There is a 21 day waiting on the treatment of any illness. I.e. any illness that occurs within the first 21 days of cover is excluded, but accidents are covered immediately cover is taken out."
