  2. Hi Steph, yes I'm in Caroline Springs, your welcome to pop over on Sunday if you wanna say hi
  3. Just got home, we had to pop out for an hour to drop my miss's car off to the wreckers, he was fast asleep on top of his big teddy (so fricking cute) and when I opened up the door he wasn't shaking like he did the first few times we had to leave him alone, maybe he is starting to adapt to it a little. had a good play outside and now is fast asleep at my feet while I type this.
  4. yep doing that, his toys are out there, we feed him out there and I play with him out there, his bed is also out there he just moans if I'm on the other side or not home which is understandable really, he even does it if he's inside and i'm out with the gate shut fixing up the fence lol
  5. Koda is home now, doing good. First night was little tough on him with the thunder, he was up allot having a howl, I'm trying to get him outside by himself every now and again today (5-10min at a time) so he understands when he is out there and the door is shut not to whinge as it wont get him inside
  6. Koda is well thanks, he is back home now, doing good. First night was little tough on him with the thunder, he was up allot having a howl, I'm trying to get him outside by himself every now and again today so he understands when he is out there and the door is shut not to whinge as it wont get him inside
  7. Koda is now at home and settling well, some pics on the other thread, probably shouldn't double post them haha
  8. Koda is home and doing well, he has been a rather good boy so far, wondering how long that will last, he is a howler when he is not getting attention so have started to clamp down on that a little, he had a hard time last night, was up every 40-50min for a whine then would usually settle down after 5min, I'm guessing he did it all night as I was up at 2am to take him outside for a wee, then up at 7am to feed him No poo's in the house yet which is good, he has been doing them all outside and getting big praises for when he does.
  9. I was very proud of my Koda, when he got to our home for the first time we took him outside and he did a big poop on the garden bed and not in my car on the ride there
  10. Sorry was a super busy day with Koda and I fell asleep on the couch with him watching a movie, will post pics tomorrow off to bed now
  11. It's really nice to see people like yourself tdierikx taking on pups to save them from what would have been a short life, big ups They are super cute, I first thought kelpie/bc cross when I saw them. Regards Jack
  12. 6 Hours to go, Wahhhh didn't get to sleep till 1am as we had allot of work to get done for my OH's side business, woke up at 5:30am this morning on the dot, have allot of energy for someone with only 4.5hrs sleep
  13. Its hard to tell if its lodged in the leg or the feather coat. unless you can safely contain him to take to a vet I would let him be, he has probably lived with it for a long time judging by the color of the hook. Or like persephone said see if any locals who deal with birds can give some advice.
  14. Yer he is it would have been just me, sorry should have worded that better
  15. Hi Whippy, I've been asked a few times but I'm not a show type guy really, I do enjoy going to the shows to watch but have no patience to keep the dog maintained to a show level, I may when he is a bit older start training for something to keep us both busy  so far though I'll be happy as Larry if he likes a good tennis ball and a good trek. Might consider doing something like Frisbee or agility at a later age
  16. I think in terms of drive I would rank them Collie, Aussie, Border Collie, but each breed can cross over each others line, We had BC's back on the farm when I was young and I do remember one of them being a lazy git, he would always prefer to play with me and my toys than go with the old man to herd
  17. Sounds allot like a Sheltie but bigger
  18. So to sum it up there is no single most important environmental factor to effect longevity in a dogs life, just treat with respect & love, feed them, wash them, cuddle them, play with them and fate will decide the rest :)
  19. If it was the week after on Monday I would have said yes but got work next week, have fun though, sure there will be a few in the area to join you.
  20. sounds like willow is having a good time investigating the house luckily my computer and TV cables are all on one side of the lounge and I can use the pen dividers to block off that area when the pup has access to the house so no cables are close to small mouths, I have also used power socket covers on all other electrical sockets on the house, the ones you use for a new born to stop them putting there finger in there just in case Koda thinks it might be a nice thing to lick, the couch was a worry but the breeder said they have never gone under her's and he's probably too big now to fit under our smaller ones, the chairs I don't mind as there is a good gap but was initially worried about the sofa.
  21. I'm meant to be working but seem to find myself on this website every 10min  After work I have my weekly bowling league from 8:30pm till 10:30/11pm so it will fly then, might have to think of something to do between 6pm and 8pm I am also picking up a new car tomorrow so its gonna be a killer day; getting up at 5:30am, leaving home at 6:20am OH dropping me at the station at 6:30am taking train from there to car dealership on other side of city, arriving at 8am leaving dealership with new car around 9am heading to petsplus to pick-up crate and bedding at 9:30-10am going straight from there to Alfoxton arriving around 12noon-12:30pm leaving there around 1:00-1:30pm getting back home about 2-2:30pm Trying to spend as much time as I can with the pup as we have an event we must organise out of home at 4pm (leave at 3:30) Pup will be at home from 3:30 till 6pm latest (2.5 hours), most likley indoors in the pen as it will be getting dark and cold, or outside if we are comfortable with it Back home at 6pm after event to spend the rest of the night with the pup probably not sleeping well as he will be up all night Free all sat and sun for pup time Sunday is planned for friend and family visits for gradual socilization
  22. I'm picking up Koda in 27 hours so will have allot of pics to choose from for week 23  can't wait.
