Why would anyone take the risk with letting breeds like Siberian Huskies, Alaskan Malamutes, Akitas off leash in unfenced areas. These breeds are independant and stubborn by nature. I don't care how reliable their recall is, as the article says, all it takes is just one moment. I think I must love my dogs too much.

Thanks Kelpiecuddles :) Think we were looking at the same time.

All good, found my answer on their website. Wasn't looking in the right place to start with. The following is copied from their website. "Covering some 169 hectares, the gardens offer such diversity, with towering trees, abundant shade, water features, endless rose gardens and thoughtful plantings. It also boasts a Red River Gum believed to be around 400 years old and over 30,000 roses of over 300 varieties. Apart from traditional cemetery purposes, our grounds also host a range of community events throughout the year and provide a beautiful backdrop for wedding photography. More and more couples are also choosing to be married within our gardens and film students and commercial organisations have found they provide the perfect setting. Springvale Botanical Cemetery also hosts a number of rose pruning demonstrations and you are able to join our numerous historical and botanical tours. A large team of dedicated people work hard to ensure that the grounds remain in a pristine condition. The team includes qualified gardeners, horticultural experts, arborists, rosarians and a dedicated group of grounds people. We encourage and welcome you to enjoy the beauty and serenity of our grounds at any time. Feel free to take a walk, walk your dog on a lead, jog or simply sit down and enjoy your lunch. You can’t imagine a more beautiful or tranquil setting."

My then 9 week old boy used to hump the other dog. She would be lying down and up he'd come and hump her quickly. On the head, on her leg, no real purpose. He stopped about 4/5 months.

Yes, it is a rule dogs must be muzzled on Metro trains in Melbourne. it is in the charter. Yes I have also seen people not doing this. I do it because it is a rule and it protects my dogs in case some idiot decides to say or do something stupid. That is all it takes, one idiot. I love my dogs too much not to follow this rule.

I gave my Mal the medium sized Bad Cuz today. She played with it for awhile. She hasn't ripped it apart yet, though she tries to nibble the feet. She hasn't gone totally nuts as it doesn't squeak as much and plus it has no stuffing to rip out. That Tuff toy on the other hand......I got the crocodile one for $35. 10 mins later, she ripped it open. Oh well.

We go in by train and get off at Melbourne Central (to make the walk a little longer) and walk down to the Botannical Gardens. We walk around there and the Shrine also. We also walk to Vic market. But I need more ideas too.

Yikes! I thought I was looking at my house there for a split second! :). I have the exact Snooza mat right next to my crate complete with a Malamute. Thanks to your video, I bought my two a Bad Cuz each. We haven't tried it out as yet. I am not giving the toy much hope with my Mal. Worth a try though. Off topic, but is Ronin full husky? He looks just like my girl when she was younger ( and slimmer). Ronin even has a Malamute face. Just curious:)

Last year we gave Dishlickers in Pearcedale a go. They are Alaskan Malamute breeders also and would understand our girl. They have an indoor enclosure at night. And depending on the weather, all the dogs are let out into individual runs during the day time. They start letting them out about 8am and start putting them back about 5pm. They don't walk the dogs. I think my girl who was 10 months at the time, got enough stimulation running around in her pen alongside the other dogs around her. There is no communal play area. They don't let unknown dogs run together. So the dog is in their own run till they go in at night. The outdoor runs are big and grassy, there is a shade sail and a kennel in the middle. They will feed your dog Blackhawk kibble or what you are feeding. I am not sure if they do the whole raw thing though. It was our first time kennelling a dog. She came back like she had never been away.

Does Anyone Know Where I Can Buy Green Tripe In Brisbane?
Malakita replied to Stitch's topic in General Dog Discussion
I think I need to go to Spec savers!! I can't seem to find the dehydrated green tripe or the delivery charges within Melbourne. Do most dogs like green tripe? I bought my two cherubs green lipped mussels from the seafood shop and they both went no thanks. -

How Long Should It Take To Grow Back A Shaved Coat?
Malakita replied to cassie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
My boy had knee surgery 7 weeks ago. Now the regrowth is about a cm. But strangely, the upper thigh where the butt is, has not grown back at all. The leg is only three quarters fluffy despite it being shaved at the same time. The epidural area has not grown back in the slightest! It is really weird how the fur grows back and where first. -
Male Great Dane Pup Squatting To Pee *bewildered*
Malakita replied to Merle_Miss's topic in Puppy Chat
That is a very sweet pic :) I was speaking to someone yesterday who has 2 huskies. Her male is almost 12 months and doesn't cock his leg. He doesn't 't squat. He just slightly bends his knees and off he goes. -

Feeding Coconut In Non Oil Form
Malakita replied to Ivory & Beau's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I am in Vic and all the coconut oil I have seen is solid. Mine eat theirs solid. Sometimes I use a fork to scrape the oil in the jar. Other times I will just scoop some out. One time, I wasn't concentrating and I liquified the oil. Only to add the liquid oil to cold mince. Well it went solid again! -
They eat one meal a day (by their choice) at about 5.30ish in the evening.

How horribly sad for all involved. Hope the other dogs are found safe.
