Dogs And The Melbourne Botanic Gardens

Both mine have been in there. Just obviously quite humid but a little squashy if more people are in there. -
I got one done recently which cost $280. The bloods were sent overseas.

Is anyone able to recommend the services of a 'pet nanny' (sorry it is very early and my brain can't think of the 'right' term) who comes to the home to do stuff around the house for pets? I know there are websites for pet services but you all know how fussy we all are with security. Someone who uses or knows of one, would be terrific. A personal reference would be even better. Thanks so much! :)

We used to pay $37 at the RSPCA, but that was in Feb/ March. Then we went last week for a yeasty ear and it was $57. Yikes!

I have an especially soft spot for greyhounds ever since my girl (who usually hates all other dogs) kissed and was completely non reactive to a couple she met. I always thought they were beautiful but since she thought they were terrific, well that sealed it even more for me :)

Okay, I got out the two guinea dogs and tested out their ramp. It is light and easy to carry. Almost feels filmsy as it is so light and nothing 'holds' the telescopic bit together. So I put it on the front porch as we have a couple of steps going down. Got the first guinea dog. She was fine. Paraded happily up and down as though she was a catwalk model. At one stage, she sat on the middle part of the ramp. It looked and felt sturdy extended to a metre. But as the anti skid material is very much like sand paper, she left scratch marks in the first 2 minutes!! The original color is a dark grey, now I have white scratch marks. It also holds fur well as it sticks to the 'sand paper'. Might need to look at covering it with an anti skid rubber down the track. Second guinea dog isn't a fan of ramps but humored me. The ramp sits well and doesn't wobble. So, so far, so good :)

I don't think you are being unreasonable. I think very much like Stressmagnet. We kennelled our girl once and never even thought/ considered to drop off or pick up out of the stated hours. We dropped her off a day early as we couldn't get there at drop off time plus it gave her more time to settle in.

Yes ramp arrived without issue on the Friday. We haven't road tested it yet but it seems sturdy enough. The material for the ramp bit where the dog walks down on is almost like a coarse sand paper feel. It slides up and down ok, but it doesn't lock in. You have to make sure that the two points touching the car and the two points touching the ground is secure and stable. That is how it 'locks' in. Will try it tomorrow.

Suggestions For A Dog Breed For New Dog Owners.
Malakita replied to Lhok's topic in General Dog Discussion
I would say a greyhound also. The ones I have met are so docile and such snuggle bums. But I am not sure how realistic they are about having a living breathing being. They should adjust to the dog and not vice versa. -
At the time, we had a holiday booked and were waiting on waiting lists for puppies. We got an email from a breeder saying she knew of a litter ready to go from an oops mating. We were torn as we were due to go overseas in 5 weeks. We spoke to the breeder of the puppies and only as long as they were okay to have the puppy back for 2 weeks, then we would go ahead. Our baby girl is now 3 :)

Just bought a Solvit Telescopic on eBay for $199. Hopefully will be here Thursday.

Just absolutely beautiful.

Just rang up the pet shop to ask about the $449 ramp. For me, it is no good as it is a step ramp. My boy can manage a couple of steps but not more. Yes I have also seen the Moorabbin one, ? Dogs in Motion price on the Solvit telescopic. Need to do more research :)

Well we went to have a look at this ramp. But naturally as I didnt ring ahead and with Murphys Law, the store didn't have one in stock. They had one at their Balwyn store but we didn't have time to go before and after we went out. So maybe Monday. But the price sounded hefty. Although it is meant to be quite good. She said $440 and I didn't even think to ask the model. How much is the one you can get in Moorabin?
