  1. Looks guilty to me :) It's so funny how even when they're trying to act innocent they just tense up, so you know there's something going on... At least he's getting the hang of the mat though - if he took his treasures there to eat it must mean he knows it's 'his' spot.
  2. Glad your new place is working out well Esky :) How's Gus today Steph? Back to normal?! Is Rosie used to the cone yet?
  3. This inspired me to look for an app - found one called 'pet planner' for android, which seems pretty good. You can have multiple pets, and multiple treatments etc. And it's free :) I wish I'd thought to have it to track his weight when he was a pup!
  4. he looks so adorable in his cone!! Glad he's feeling better :)
  5. That sux about your car Steph! Glad the cone is working out though, and Gus is fairly happy :) I'm hoping to get my cone today or tomorrow. Nixon was leg cocking for a while, and still does it at the park sometimes I think, but he's back to squatting most of the time now I think. His cocking was always a little unsteady :) I think he started marking & cocking around 7-8months. And the barking started not too long after.
  6. Omg that is awful!!! You must have been terrified! Makes me suddenly glad I don't have voicemail... Hope Gus had a good night. I'm sure he'll be full of beans today if you let him :)
  7. Looks like Ronin had an absolute ball! It's great watching them have so much fun - making our puppies happy makes us happy I think :)
  8. I have no doubt! I was already using basic commands on my niece and nephew when they stayed at Christmas :) The poor kids got quite a few 'sit', 'stay' and 'come' commands... Was pretty funny - my husband and my sister were both cracking up!
  9. We take ours sometimes, but the cafe we go to has an enclosed verandah area, so he's not in anyone's way when we're there. I think having an unhappy dog somewhere that there are a lot of people walking past is just mean...
  10. Nixon absolutely lost it when I wore some high heels into the lounge room last night... completely flipped out! Goes to show how often I get dressed up... Perhaps he thought they were eating my feet or something.
  11. Steph, did you get the message I sent you just before? I'm starting wonder if messages are working since the layout change... (not because of you - i know I didn't send it that long ago!)
  12. Wow Steph they sounds like total cows... which store did you manage to find a soft cone at? I did a ring around last time and didn't have any luck finding one, which is why we ended up with the cloud collar. When I went into petbarn last week they were trying to convince me to hold some kittens so they could put pics on the fb page. I probably should have done it, but I'm not that into cats and I know Nixon probably wouldn't like me smelling like one!
  13. Definitely a good idea to have a soft cone - Nixo would not have a bar of the normal cone (or maybe we're just too soft to handle the sooking...) Nix liked his cloud cone but it didn't really stop the licking, so will have to think of something else...
  14. Makes sense. We're seeing the eye specialist in 2 weeks, so will let you know what happens. Nix is actually having surgery (again) next friday, because some of his dissolvable stitches haven't fully dissolved, and he has these irritated lumps on his scar. it looked fine for about 2 months then just wasn't Pretty bummed we'll have to go through the cone debacle again.
  15. Good luck Steph. Will be good to get rid of all those extra lumps and bumps :) Are they going to do his eyes at the same time too? Laci looks so hilarious all muddy - what a cutey!
  16. Wow! Definitely a gamechanger. I thought the coolest part was this: That explains how they can make it so affordable...
  17. I WISH Nixon didn't like poo... unfortunately if it's fresh, he's likely to help himself... I wonder how I can encourage a poo phobia :)
  18. My boy is definitely well into his 2nd fear stage - this morning I threw his ball for him and he happily raced after it, then freaked out and jumped backwards about 3 times when he tried to pick it up. I had to go get it, and then he was fine again. He's also been freaked out by a plastic bag, and by absolutely nothing at all...
  19. There is a lot more black on that side Lisa - how funny that he favours one side so much! He is gorgeous from any angle :) Where we normally swim is at a boat ramp, so he just walks into the water, and that's where he was swimming with the other lab, so she couldn't teach him how to dive unfortunately! I have no doubt she'd nail it though - she's only 7 months old, but very confident in the water! And a much stronger retrieving drive than Nix I'd say too. I love how in that pic she's looking at Nix as if to say 'what the hell are you doing with my stick?!' I can't believe he's a year old either... I think he'll always be my baby dog :) He's definitely a mumma's boy.
  20. Loving seeing all the pics - Can't believe how big Nala is now! and I actually like Nova's coat a bit shorter Lisa - it makes his black spots 'pop' :) Your girl is gorgeous Terri! Sares, that pic of them looking out the door is so cute!! Willow is looking very fit and elegant! Those innocent faces are hilarious Steph! Though I'm sure the hole isn't... I took some pics on Nixon's birthday on the weekend, but I actually used the real camera for once, so will have to find my cable and see if there are any good ones. I ended up getting him a kong extreme (black) frisbee, which he loves and is holding up really well so far. He also got a monkey with no squeakers for playing with inside, and a little rubbery ball with soft spikes all over it - it's really bouncy and is holding up surprisingly well! He really likes it actually. He also got a really cute soft tiger toy from a friend at the dog park. Some people are so lovely! He had a very nice day - we went swimming in the river at the uni, where I discovered he doesn't actually know how to jump in the water - he needs lessons from Gus!! Then he napped for a few hours to recover, then we went to the park where he made a new lab friend, and they played bitey face beautifully together for ages - then they went swimming again - together! She was a much stronger swimmer than Nix and swam out ridiculously far to get a huge log that was floating past. Then Nix decided to help her bring it in a couple of times - was very cute/funny!
  21. I'm so so sorry. I'm glad you're were able to be at peace with the decision though, and knew it was the right time. Sounds like she had a wonderful life with you, and the fig tree will be a beautiful tribute.
