  1. Yeah, the policies are identical, it's just the pricing structure and how they're assessing 'risk' that's changed. I just keep getting angrier and angrier thinking about it! Their fb responses are useless too. Not even particularly conciliating.
  2. The way they have gone about it is very shady! Interesting to know I wasn't the only one who they sneakily took advantage of... I can imagine it's not viable any more for you having 3 dogs. It's such a pity because they do provide such excellent cover
  3. my excess was $125, so if it's $100 now I'll be slightly impressed.
  4. You'd think so wouldn't you... Apparently my policy renewal was on the 13th May, the money came out on the 15th, so I suspect they've mailed me something but obviously I haven't got it yet. I know with my home insurance they inform me several weeks in advance and give me an opportunity to cancel or switch to another option when it's renewal time... In an ideal world, I would have received a polite letter several weeks ago explaining the changes, and acknowledging the large increase, and outlining what cost their other policies would be in case I needed to consider a cheaper option. Very very poor business practice.
  5. Put it in the "review" section if you don't want them to delete it. yeah, I couldn't see any normal comments on their wall, so I figured a review was the way to go :) I'm most annoyed that they couldn't even man up and tell me before they took money out of my account. so rude!
  6. certainly something I'll be considering in the next year or so Leah. In the meantime we can save $10/month by reducing the level of cover slightly. He has a few on-going issues that need sorting before we drop it.
  7. I just went and added my 2c to fb - good idea Lisa.
  8. I asked if they would take into consideration whether the individual dog's parents were health tested, and she said no - it's based on the total overall claims for the breed. It's ridiculous! Having said that, it is excellent cover and they have paid many times for us without complaint, but it's a bit shocking to suddenly see such a big jump with no warning or explanation.
  9. Just logged on to my internet banking to see that my petplan monthly premium has increased by 50% - no notification or warning! I just got off the phone and they have had a massive overhaul of their policies, and now take into account breed and other factors. I guess labradors are costing them money in a big way, going by the increase. They also now offer a '12 month essentials' plan, which only provides cover for a particular condition for 12 months, rather than providing ongoing lifetime cover. I'm considering dropping down to the lower level 'Classic' cover, to make it a little more affordable... My new premium is $75.48 per month!!! Our policy was up for renewal, but I would have appreciated some notification before they actually started taking extra money out of our account! Not very impressed.
  10. I think I saw the rep for the food posted about it yesterday sometime too? It sounds good. Let us know how Ronin goes on it!
  11. He is looking absolutely gorgeous Esky. I guess he's going to be big!!
  12. That's great! Mine was an absolute horror as a baby puppy, so I get pangs of extreme envy every time someone says their pup is doing wonderful things like sleeping nicely :)
  13. Ah, I remember you saying that in another thread now. Very cool name! Hope he's settling in nicely for you :)
  14. That is the coolest thing I've ever heard!! Made me a bit teary - maybe because I love chocolate so much, and it's hard not sharing the things you love with the dogs you love!
  15. Congrats Law! What a cutie! Does he/she have a name yet?
  16. Beautiful photos spoony, I particularly like the GSD one! I'm so sorry about your two, and losing them so close together must have been unbearable You've shared some great memories though - the quarry jump is awesome. The studio shots are absolutely amazing!
  17. He's almost 15 months old now Clover. Hard to believe he's not really a baby anymore! Thanks, I'm looking forward to playing some more. I actually bought it because we're going to Europe in 2 weeks, so hopefully it will capture some amazing memories!
  18. Loving the fashion parade! More please! :)
  19. *I just fixed the spit bubble pic :)
  20. Thanks guys :) He makes me smile almost continually, so it's nice to have some pics that make me smile when he's not around! Tikira, I got a Fujifilm X-A1 and I'm very pleased with it so far! Most of the above were taken in auto mode, but I like that I can have a bit more manual control should I ever want to... I actually have many many more action shots - burst mode means that I ended up with some pretty hilarious ones - but the one I posted is probably the weirdest contortion :) I guess my biggest problem is that usually one part of him is at least slightly out of focus. I might put some more up later.
  21. yeah, first litter - one hell of a shock!!
  22. I saw this on the tv news last night, so thought I'd track down a print article to share! http://www.qt.com.au/news/raaf-facility-now-littered-with-puppies/2253260/ That's going to be one very busy mum...
  23. Well, I finally bought a camera that does more than turn my beautiful chocolate boy into a muddy brown blur, so I figure I need to share! Epic spit bubble! Yummy carrots My beautiful boy! Sloppy sit though too cute! He actually slept through dinner time this night - too busy cuddling his teddy :) Have started trying to get some action shots too, but not much luck yet! Not to mention he's almost as unco as I am sometimes!
  24. Lisa - I tried to get a pic with a hat on too, but he just wasn't having a bar of it :) He definitely doesn't have the confidence with bold fashion choices that Nova does!
