I just washed Tank"s bedroom floor with an Ajax floor cleaner and then poured vinegar all over it and mopped it up. Apartment stinks now.

Cool. I might take him in on Monday. I don't really want to have to pay a consultation fee though and I'm scared there will be sick dogs there!

Should I take my boy to the vet straight away? I was going to wait and take him in three weeks when he gets his 12 weeks shot.

Very true. I guess I'm just typical gen y - need/expect everything to happen yesterday! :laugh: I can't wait to get him home - have been look forward to this moment for years - we lived in London during 2010 & 2011 so had to wait until we knew we were happy and settled in Sydney to even think about getting our little pup.

the bonding thing is kind of bothering me... I can't get time off work so my partner who will work from home the first week or two with him will get to spend all the time with him I guess I'll just have to overload in the morning, evenings and weekends. I will probably drive home from work each day at lunch time too - I only work in Alexandria so about 15 mins in good traffic door to door.

Yikes! Good luck - hopefully he settles soon!

Yay! The vet checks were all fine! Three more days, four more sleeps!

Awesome. Let me know how you go! I'll be intrigued to see if they really work! I broke my one last night - the velcro seam broke so now there is kind of a hole in it. The eBay lady was nice though - she said she's sending me a replacement and I don't have to bother sending the broken one back. So just be careful pulling the velcro apart!

My partner and I couldn't agree on a name. So we went and sat at lunch and just kept throwing names around. Then he said 'Tank' out of no where and that was that!

My apartment has a balcony which was closed off at some stage so I've just moved a bunch of crap out of there except my study desk and chair and have put a baby gate where the door was. It's a really good size pen for him I think! I would have done something similar though and sectioned off a room if I had to. I think my bathroom / laundry would have been too small for him.

I missed the whole due date part. I kind of stumbled across him after getting referred on a couple of times through the Frenchie club. He was four weeks when we first met him. So I've had a five week wait which has been torture enough! My boy is getting his vacs today too along with his full vet health check (heart, palate, hip and spine xrays). My breeder is going to call and let me know all is fine this afternoon / evening. Making me so nervous waiting...!

4 sleeps! Getting nervous now! Vet day today. Next week we both have time off work to help him settle... I actually feel like we're having a child!

My boy has his eight week vet visit tomorrow. Touch wood all is fine! Saturday 9am cannot come fast enough!

This might be a dumb / overzealous question... My puppy will be 12 weeks on a Sunday (9 June). Would it be okay to take him to get his 12 week vac the Friday before (7 June)? Also, how will his immune system be? He's due to start puppy school on the following Tuesday (11 June). Completely forgot about his vac being due when I paid the deposit! (Edited to add: I alluded to this exact query in my last post above )

This time next week i will be driving to get my boy! I start puppy school with DogLogic at 12 weeks but through PetBarn in Alexandria (its just around the corner from my work). I think I will only take my guy for his first vet visit when he gets his 12 week vac.

Soft toys and blankets from Vinnies! Then just wash them on a long, hot intense wash. I spent $40 and got six soft toys and two blankets. Bargain! Amazon is your friend for Kongs - in some cases 75% cheaper than shops (even online) in Aus. Think my most expensive thing has been the car seat cover as a single item ($204) and other than that just all the various bits and pieces start adding up!

I didn't end up getting the zebra collar / lead. I got a black leather studded collar (he is a bulldog after all!) and a cool leather lead off Etsy. Also thought this tag was cool.... Tank better not smash his $50 worth of bowls!

Might just have to get some vinegar too! ;) My apartment is all tiles / floorboards so hopefully cleaning isn't that big of a deal.
