  1. HI All

Apologies if this is not the correct forum, but hoping more Perth people will see this here than elsewhere.

I am hoping for some recommendations for dog trainers in Perth.

We will be welcoming an 8 weeks old Siberian Husky puppy into our lives on 2nd Jan and looking into trainers. We intend doing kindy/preschool and would ideally like someone with experience with this unique breed that we can take through different levels of training.

We are North of the river but will travel further out for the right person.

There is a a PawPrints kindy run at a pet shop very close to me, so I could possibly use this for kindy and go from there, however it might be better to stick with one trainer throughout?

    Many thanks

    Jase

  2. It sounds like Mrs Cranky is just being a be-atch.

A vet practice can be a stressful place to visit for we humans, especially when our much loved pets are unwell. When you are next there I would either let the vet know how you feel about the staff and are considering moving or simply switch vets. If you switch vets I would make sure they know that Mrs Cranky is the person responsible for your move and for them to let you know if a time comes when she is no longer there.

It seems that your Vet acknowledges this person's demeanour by calling her Mrs Cranky - however, they may not be aware though that this person could be damaging their business by alienating customers.

Having said that I have never seen dogs sitting on human chairs at the Vet, and personally wouldn't do it, but it seems the chair is less of an issue than how you feel you are being singled out and made uncomfortable by this person.

I do hope it all works out for you in the future.

  3. He's coming on Qantas on Monday. Somehow weaseled my way out of working the entire day ;) So I'll be there easy. We don't live far from.the airport at all so the poor feller wont have to go much further before he can have a run

    That's great news!

  4. If his papered name is Jedi then I think you should call him Force - haha :p

I said that.. but apparently that's a stupid name according to the man who agreed to call our cat Corpsegrinder

Corpsegrinder is a rather fantastic name.

Not if you're a mouse in that house. :)

  5. I saw there was a bit of a discussion on another thread about this product so thought I would start a separate thread.

I have a few questions about Puppy gold if I may. I will be getting a Husky puppy in around 5 weeks

How does one feed Puppy gold to an 8 week old? Is it sprinkled on kibble or what do you do if feeding PMRD?

Do you adjust the food quantity to account for the extra calories?

Is there any concern with accelerated grown and strong joint formation with a supplement such as this?

    Many thanks

  6. That's so cool * and further envy  *

You should totally do some racing too ( if you aren't already)

The scene in WA is totally awesome, really friendly people and a real great companionable group.

Met a lot of them that travelled in a big group so the ACT for nationals earlier this year.

I've been to an open day at the WA Sled dog association, and yeah they seem like a good bunch around 190 members I think!

I am definitely going to participate when he is old enough - some 18 months away. I even have a mushing scooter LOL
