I'm from South America (Argentina), though after nearly a decade spent in the UK I feel more British. I've always been fascinated by cultural and linguistic differences though. I'm also a history nut, hence Louis the Great :D -

Awww cute! I'm now wondering if I'd be brave enough to bring him to a lecture.... Hmm... -
The vinegar smell doesn't last long, and is still better than bad smells... Or maybe I just love the smell of it :D

Hehe, funny how different areas think of different names. I'm from a completely different part of the world, and think of Nova as a boys name. I got Louis a tag from easy which has a little fleur de lys. I thought it would be perfect, and it says "Louis the Great". Of course it's just for show, the one with contact details is a different one. -
We all have to make sacrifices for pets, or kids, etc. even if its something as simple as money spent on them instead of other things. Whether we LOVE making those sacrifices is a different matter altogether. Just because you say "I'm sacrificing this or that" doesn't mean that you don't love your pets/kids or that you should change anything. As for myself, my family is in South America, my 2nd family is in Europe. I knew when I got my dog that for the next 15-20 years I will not be able to visit my families as much as I want to. But it was an informed decision and the dog won hands down. That's a sacrifice I'm more than willing to make in exchange for a much richer everyday life :)

Tyrion is as beautiful as ever! Smash, is Tank hidden or are you actually allowed to bring him with you??? Yvonne: Louis was on Royal Canin puppy starter at the breeder's, which I'm now mixing with Advance Puppy Rehydrateable, as recommended by breeder. I should be mixing it with other stuff but I haven't started (I will tomorrow). He was having poo problems so was back at the breeders' for a week, eating mostly chicken and rice, and sometimes scrambled egg. Now that he's back on dry kibble (I don't moisten it), his eating is like this: 6am: 2tsp - 12pm and 4pm: 1.5tsp - 8pm: 2tsp. He also gets a few biscuits in his bowl overnight just in case. He used to be a complete pig and eat EVERYTHING in sight, but now his sister isn't around he sometimes leaves some, so I'm not so worried about him getting enough. He has a healthy appetite, so it's all good :-) I'm not so sure how much 'normal food' to add, I think I'll play it by ear since I'm now confident that he won't pig out like he used to :-) If you get really worried though, you could always call Banjo's breeder and get breed-specific advice. -
Has he vomited again, Smash?

Hehe yes I had actually printed that out before even getting my puppy. It's genius!

Dory, Louis is exclusively indoor potty trained, so I can't blame the weather. However, he's done great since last night, no accidents! I was a bit naughty last night and instead of putting him in his crate and getting up to let him do his business, I just put him in his pen, with the crate door open. He spent the whole night sleeping in the crate except for 3am when he came out to play, but was back in his crate within ONE minute. No crying, well just a whimper or two. He then woke up at 6:30 (an hour later than usual) and piddled on the newspaper. At this point he had no interest in going back to sleep, he discovered the squeaky toy and made himself heard! In the end though, it worked out well. Less crying, no accidents, and i actually slept which helps with my condition. Tonight I'll do the same but remove the toys (should have know better, really!) Yvonne, Louis is the same with his sit. He actually now comes over and sits, thinking he'll get food  It's a huge improvement as before he would NEVER sit. Baby steps ;-) or should I say puppy steps? Puppy school starts on the 4th and I think it'll be a bit embarrassing to see how far ahead all the other puppies are  Smash, I don't know about weight, I'm actually worried that Louis is too thin. I don't think he's put on weight over the last 10 days at all! I have a vet appt on the 12th so we'll see. -
I'm sorry about your dog, he's gorgeous though! He's definitely into ME, it's all about being with me, doesn't care about anything else! Except his kibble, so I've been using those as treats. Still getting the hang of it as he looks at my hand instead of the food I put in front of him. I'll definitely be checking the training section. I thought it was more about agility etc.

Online charts put his adult weight at about 2.7kg, but breeder reckons he'll only be about 2kg. A bit smaller than I would like, but on the plus side - highly portable! We are also going backwards with the toilet training. He knew newspaper = toilet, but it seems being here he's not completely convinced that everything else is off-limits. We're going back to step one and watching him like a hawk ;) -
Okay now I'm worried, he doesn't care for treats either  I think he's still adjusting to life without his sister, she was his main source of entertainment / masochistic pleasure.

He weighed 160g at birth, and 900g at 8 weeks. What about Banjo? -
My puppy won't tug. Should I be worried?

OMG OMG OMG * faints* I was between a Yorkie and a Maltese... Banjo might just be enough to make me ALMOST regret.......... -
Why don't you join us there Yvonne? The more the merrier! I'm sure things like the spray bottle are a step further, for when redirection isn't working. Don't quote me though!

I just saw Louis take toys from his pen into his crate! First time! Proof that he likes his crate :) (and that he's starting to see the point in having toys) -

He's so cute and handsome! I'll have to find out which places around Canberra are pet friendly. Saw loads in Melbourne but not here yet. I know my breeder took Louis into Kmart after his vet visit and someone thought his whimpering was a ringtone! Good because pets are not allowed there... -
