  1. The kong version I have seen is about 50%+ bigger then the pyramid I have for my dogs, it also has a wierd shape hole at the top. It also unscrews at the base, which the pyramid doesn't (or at least mine doesn't seem to).
  2. i find using a bandage as a muzzle works well as you can slide it just enough to do a reasonable job of trimming near the mouth (and then if needed, using a proper muzzle for the rest of the trim)
  3. if it is just a small hernia with a bit of fat trapped, I would just leave it.
  4. I see it as no worse then anything that goes on IRL. As with anything, if you are after FACTS, then it is up to you to go to the source and check them for yourself. Show results are often available on other websites for checking up the results.
  5. I'm glad you have been to the vets, what did they advise to do at this point? Did they take an x-ray?
  6. I'm in the UK, so that's how I get it sourced! :D there are other UK suppliers who maybe able to send it to Oz, if you wanted to try it. I just have the one girl on it, the other one it didn't work for. The 3rd bitch was before i found the herbs. Why are you interested in using the suprelorin instead of propalin?
  7. Could it be a toy part stuck in the stomach? I had the same thing with one of mine who couldn't bring back the tiny bit of rubber. Must be very uncomfortable for him. :D
  8. it depends on how well you manage to coat as it grows. Do you have a particular reason for a yearly shave off?
  9. Yes, it will be the dog not knowing what to expect from day to day. One of mine was living part time with my dad (coming back here at weekends) In the end, I told my dad to keep her full time, as she was starting to play up and it wasn't in her best interest to be shipped back and forth, either she stay with him full time or with me. She is much better, now, when she just comes for holidays.
  10. I use herbs for one of mine (I know they work, as when she doesn't have them, the problem returns) they are from csjk9.com - you can see what herbs are included from their, I think agrimony is the 'active' ingredient. Previously other bitches have had stilboestrol, propalin +/- incurin. Some can be slowly weaned off the treatment, some may need a boost in treatment at the time they would have been in season - one of mine was like this and had the incurin to boost the propalin at this time.
  11. aside from protecting them from disease, until they are 5 or 6 weeks old, they really don't do much to be of interest to watch and see personality/temperaments. Earlier on, once they are up on their feet, they are active for such short bursts, it would take good timing to see them awake.
  12. I wonder if the orange parts would rub on the dog to much, when worn for a longer time?
  13. It was only a tiny piece, about the size of my fingernail. Yes, it showd up on xray - which was being done for another issue at the time. Poor girl was booked in for a spinal xray while she was being spayed and ended up with a much bigger operation with her stomach being opened up too.
  14. Just that patch on the rump can also be a sign of a flea allergy (just one flea bite can set it off again)
  15. I would prefer to pay on the day, maybe have a small membership fee to cover insurance?? I would also like more things offered - eg area to train tracking or searching Would this be somewhere to have regular training classes at various levels or would people be left to do their own thing?
  16. Wormers like Drontal treat intestinal worms (not heartworm) and should be given monthly to a puppy up to 6 months of age and then every 3 months (as you should be doing with your adult dog now) Fleas - just treat when they get them. Products bought from the vets or online pharmacies are going to be more effective then the rubbish from the supermarket.
  17. Tell the breeder about the temperament of the dog you already have, let them suggest which pups in the litter would be the best match to him and why they think that. It could be a pup with a health problem that will affect it later on eg underdeveloped kidneys.
  18. Work wonders seems to be a paid for ebook now.
  19. thanks for the suggestions. I have the Pitcairn book on order already, but will be looking into the others as funds allow. Off to google now (btw - are these available on the kindles? Just thinking it would be a good way to keep all the canine reference books!!)
  20. It may be a problem further down. One of mine went off food for awhile, then became picky and made gagging noises, she has a piece of rubber from a toy in her stomach.
  21. Aimfor Silence the guns Aimfor Diggin the trenches
  22. I doubt they would insure a dog abroad, but the Uk Kennel Club does a breeders insurance policy for brood bitches and stud dogs.
  23. :D You have, infact. Maybe you have forgotten? NO, I have not. The proof is in the pudding, or so they say? Where's the proof? off the top of my head, the discussion you had about the buff coloured duck tollers and how people should breed them and be able to show them if they liked as who cares if they could still do the job they were bred to do, if they are for the pet market I've lost myself with that one! lol
  24. above quote from http://www.minidesignerpuppys.com - name says it all really!! Moselle, they are cross breeds, not pure schnauzers.
