fingers crossed there are no more dramas and healthy bubs next week

I'd just bath him but keep the area where the stitches are dry. I have had a couple of dogs in for grooming and it has only been mid bath that I have found stitches as the owners never mentioned the dog had just had surgery! Nothing bad happened because they'd been bathed.

I do it the opposite way, pups have a basis of kibble and I add raw, so it is up to the new owners which way they want to feed their dog.
-
Love the name! Well done Andrea! Get in quick guys, these collars are great!

It's Me - Puppy ID collars

Now you just need the puppies to go with them! Puppies arrived on friday! I'm just deciding whether to use the full length of the collar or cut them down to a smaller size to fit better on their tiny necks without wrapping around 2 or 3 times.
-
Get some of that milk inside them, make sure they are warm and hydrated, feeding every couple of hours.
-
OMG they need to be viewed in the dark too?
-
Have you made sure they are feeding OK? At this stage they may need some topping up to keep them strong - perfectly survivable at this stage, so long as there are no other health problems.
-
No to mixing with other dogs while I'm away. Mine share kennels with each other and so have company, but even if I was just boarding one dog, I wouldn't want it mixing with other dogs without my supervision.
-
In the mean time, have you tried a thunder shirt or at least a tight (but not to tight) fitting dog t-shirt? It does help to calm the dog and make them less reactive.

See Me - puppy ID collars (btw got mine today and they are great!!)

Merrirose is a lovely kennel name! Here are a few pics of my lot, the first was my attempt at a belly shot a couple of days before she had the pups. The pups do have bedding, mum just prefers to scratch it out of the way each time i put it back in place!

that was first to be written on the list! Woke up in the night and thought of Fools Gold

I would want to find out under what conditions the bitch would be available to me to breed from (and if the breeder is going to apply restrictions to the pups that are bred by me - eg who they can be homed to, whether the breeder wants any pup I keep to go into joint names with them or allow them to have breeding rights on that pup - these things do happen!) Also who is responcible for paying for the health checks, who gets to have the first litter, chose the sire etc etc

butter can work for some dogs to swollow a pill

The Joker The Trickster The Jester Fools Rush In Fooling Around Just Fooling Fooled You thanks, some good ones there that go with the fool theme (I like to keep the same word included for the whole litter. Oh, just thought of 'fooling around!'

We've been to the vets today for a check up and pups had the dew claws removed. So glad I kept them in the car as there was an older puppy at the vets who had green pus in the eyes and was coughing and sneezing all over the waiting room while they were waiting to pay before leaving - nice of them to try infecting everyone instead of putting it in the car first!!
-
Thanks! Sorry no belly shot, I was going to try again tonight as the last pic was rubbish! I'll be after some ideas for registered names on an April fools theme, so thinking caps at the ready!!
-
Finally tally of my foolish litter - 3 girls and 2 boys.
-
Haha I thought I was going to end up starting this thread as my litter is on the way now, 2 girls born so far (on april Fools day, so seems I have a theme sorted! lol)

Champion Class- Should We Have A Seperate Class?
becks replied to Stolzseinrotts's topic in General Dog Discussion
Why can't young titled dogs compete against the mature champs? surely they had to beat them to get the points? Or is that not how the aus system works? I've been showing one of mine under the FCI system and like how it works, with the CAC/CACIB moving down the line to the best untitled dog who has already been graded high enough to be of champion quality. -
That's what I thought! Glad I'm not going crazy!

Do you know how many she is having? My girl decided to get me in training last night and wouldn't settle, kept digging up her bedding and making me stress she was going to pop early. I ended up putting the puppy pen up after midnight and she settled a little better in there. I think the pups must have been bouncing on her bladder and bowls making her uncomfortable.
