Yes, a dog dryer is a hairdryer for dogs, they are more powerful then a human one, although a good quality human dryer is good enough. That must be the groomer in us! I do the same for my pups and they get a demo on how to brush the pup during the collection lecture.

That ball in your photo looks way to small and an accident waiting to happen.

Mine start to leave home next week! They have had a face and bum clip. Must get around to doing some more photos. I've still got 2 girls looking for a home, as they are the 2 pick girls, I don't mind seeing how they grow for a bit longer. I'm getting to the point of looking forward to a meal that doesn't get interrupted with the smell of puppy poo!

My suggestion too. Don't moult. Easy to train (if not being repetitive) and work in many different fields from general farm dog, guard/police dogs, gundogs...... My Giants have caught rabbits before.

It is a bit of a pain as they then want the pups moving to the next food at 8 weeks, just what you need when they are going off to new homes. I've tried it and seen no difference then using the standard puppy food from them and it doesn't soak any quicker either.

have emailed to check what it will cost for UK

I've moved away from the chemicals and now use Diatomaceous Earth for fleas, it is the only thing that has finally worked and as it is inert, there is no problem using it on a pregnant bitch.

try a search on here, there are many threads about eye staining.

i just use a dental scraper on the canines

I've just had one the same as Pap, as a surprise gift for the wife but also wanted to know what to do with pup when they go away on holiday while it is still a young pup.

I've always used to nobivac and it is nice to get them out at 11-12 weeks old. My pups are booked in for their eye tests next Monday when they will be 6 weeks old! Then the following Monday they are having their vet check and microchipping. Pups are getting very vocal at times now, sounded like a flock of seagulls were trapped in the lounge just now! time to get out the asprin for the headache they have given me!

Only 2 times raspberry leaf was used also happened to be the only 2 times that a c-section was needed. I don't see the need for it with a young, fit bitch. Nice to see you back here.

Do you have fun shows? those with classes like prettiest bitch, handsome dog, best shiney coat, best trick, best 6 legs, best trick.......... these can be a good way to introduce people to the idea of showing, especially if they are run along with some pedigree classes that can be taken a little more seriously but still have new people invovled with their dogs on normal walking leads, classes like best sporting breeds, best non sporting (or spliting into groups if there are enough entries, or splitting by height.

When they can't even spell the name of the breed or pure bred, then how much do they really know?
-
Why do you put it in your dogs food when it has the potential to do so much harm when taken internally?

I have given up on Frontline, just wasn't getting any success in totally clearing the fleas over the winter so I have moved to using diatomaceaous earth instead (looks like chalk but the diatoms are spikey unlike the coccoliths who make up the chalk) so they get into the fleas and flea eggs and dry them out. It can be used on the pets and house/yard and is much cheaper to treat, especially if you have a few dogs.

I'm not convinced about that, it seems to be the poodles and cockers that get warty but other clipped breeds like my mini schnauzers are not a breed to generally get warts.

What about going out to vet practises to watch these surgeries being done and then starting to do the surgeries under supervision? We don't kill off people just so surgeons can learn how to operate

might be she is dribbling a little when resting or she can no longer squat down quite the same and is peeing on her fur.

8 weeks old, just before they leave home.

My pups are enjoying their real food and also have now aquired a 2nd mum! Mum 2 is much better at cleaning up after the pups and likes to stay in with them more. No wonder they are putting on plenty of weight!
-
I do similar to Nek, but i gently hold the lower jaw (ie the pup holds me with their mouth, so my hand then holds their jaw) just keeping hold for a second after they realised they can't move themselves away is all it takes to make the point
-
Mine are also best on a lamb based kibble with tripe, if they get bones a couple do get runny tums/vomit for a day or 2

The Mikki brand are great, used the same pair in the salon for years and not gone blunt yet!

Happy to see the beagle pups have had a safe arrival and mum is doing well. LotG I would leave it until 3 weeks and then just offer one little meal a day for a few days to give them something new to enjoy before getting into weaning them properly (although I leave mum access for as long as she wants until pups leave)
