  1. Thanks. Vet seems to think it is a combination of the pups being high up (so not ready to come out yet, even though they were due yesterday!) and the daft moo eating hair when i was grooming one of the other dogs (she's one of those ferals who drinks wee and eats anything!). He didn't want to give her any medication with her bring pregnant, but gave us a few tins of 'recuperation' food which is a bit like a mousse that can be syringed in if necessary although she wolfed it down. Vet is happy to do an ultrasound each day to check on pups and her if necessary (and nice vet only charges a consult, not an ultrasound fee!). Photos will follow when I have had a good sleep!
  2. Easier to just say 'tekkel' when talking about a Dachshund! Pinscher is Pin-shur I've had someone ask me to groom their Lapsang (Lhasa) many people say they have a King Charles, when they actually mean a Cavalier King Charles - 2 different breeds people!!!(and many others say King Charles Cavalier!). I went to groom a Cocker and the owner brought out their breed book of how they wanted it to look - the breed book was about American Cockers and they had an English Cocker (hadn't realised as the book was american and just called them cockers, so having done their research, a cocker is what they went off to buy, not realising they'd bought the wrong breed!)
  3. OK Blue has had 3 pups, 2 boys and 1 girl all very good weights. We are off to the vets in a couple of hours with Amber and I will get the pups dew claws off at the same time. I managed a couple of hours sleep and so may not be making much sense as I type, think I've managed to change things to read ok though!
  4. :D Hope we have set the trend for the rest to follow on now!
  5. Awww really??? They are very cute puppies! I'm so excited that we're going to have another one (or two) in our household and in the ring. Its going to be great too watching my son show and enjoy his very own dog as whichever pup we keep will be not only our first pup under our prefix but also his first show dog. Very cute! She was just out visiting out ringcraft to see what it is all about, hopefully she will be a bit braver next month and take part
  6. Number 3 is here and was a bit ouchy judging by the scream (poor girl, I always feel so guilty at this time!).
  7. Wow becks, things could get very busy VERY quickly for you!! Funny you should say that! I've been up late tonight as the older girl, Amber has been throwing up, so will be off to the vets with her later on. Meanwhile her daughter, Blue has just had 2 pups and awaiting number 3 to arrive (nearly 5am here now, but who needs sleep eh?
  8. I'm not ignoring you all, just been waiting for things to happen here to! I have 2 bitches due, one was due last saturday and one was due today and neither are showing any sign of action. This waiting is wierd, I've never had one before who even lasted to day 63 nevermind going over
  9. I just give it a shake, but use a wash bag so the sand doesn't get into the washing machine.
  10. She will bleed for a couple of weeks, then she will be at her most fertile, so don't think the season has finished until her vulva has become smaller again and there is no discharge.
  11. i haven't tried that one, if you do a search on here there have been other posts about types and dosage for dogs.
  12. Have her look up 'Black Skin Disease' it is something that Poms can get.
  13. have you given her an antihistamine to ease the itching?
  14. prokolin will help settle the tum and help the gut flora
  15. the citronella ones can be filled with unscented gas instead.
  16. The terrier without the difficult side of the terror temperament would lead you to a mini schnauzer - show prep can take a while to learn as you need to know how to trim to show off the good points, the grooming can make them a hard breed to get into showing. They are great for agility the mini Brendall Beau Ben ADM, JDM, OOJC, OAC, OGC, OTGN, TNN was the first small dog to gain 3 Master Games titles and has just retired at 10 years old.
  17. depends on the dog - if they don't like something blowing at their face or strong smells, they a spray collar will work fine. Training will also help a lot.
  18. capable of working in many disciplines good house/watch dog requires some grooming but no moulting good nerves good looking yes, have it in my Giants and Mini schnauzers
  19. It dries within the day in a UK winter, if just thrown on a clothes horse, so you shouldn't have any problems. I have about 4 pieces available for the whelping box, so a couple can be washed together. The green back is better as it doesn't shed bits of rubber in the wash. If the weather is warm you can use it upside down with the smooth surface at the top, which is cooler
  20. Has she eaten something green? Diarrhoea shouldn't be green
  21. Great news! Only a couple of days ago I was cuddling a fauve pup!
  22. By choice that is what I'd do, but if mine have to go to kennels then they have to be vaccinated within 12 months of their stay Most kennels accept titres now None by me do, they have to have their 'annual' vaccs + KC I think Becks means they have to have had a vaccination within the previous 12 months. Standard for kennels. Yes, vaccs between 12 months and 2 weeks before their stay - must be standard vaccs and then KC too. This is why I don't normally go away but I had 2 trips abroad this year so had to get them all up to date on vaccs and luckily the 2 trips were within the 6 months for the KC
  23. sage, lilac, cream, beige, brown
  24. By choice that is what I'd do, but if mine have to go to kennels then they have to be vaccinated within 12 months of their stay
