yay, i was thinking 4 or 5 when looking at her pics! Photos!! ;)

I wouldn't use a fabric one for everyday use, they don't seem to be made to lasst that well in those circumstances. Just get the next size up wire crate (36" should be right). You could then sell your smaller crate and put the money towards a fabric one at a later date - however, your dog needs to be settled being left in a crate in a strange place, the fabric ones can roll around like a hamster ball - i've seen it a few times at shows! You would also want a lock to secure the zip as some dogs learn how to open them!

looks like a loss of pigment after an injury to the nose.

Having had experience with poodles and bandages, i would think that leg would have been solid and no way it could be brushed out. I have a sign up at the shop door that says that matted dogs will be shaved to the skin and may uncover other issues with the skin underneath. When a client brings a matted dog, I usually give them the worst case scenario, so they are prepared to collect a bald dog, then if I can save coat and not have to be so extreme, that is a bonus for the client. Blonde, as you groom the dog regularly, why didn't you try to remove the matts before taking the dog in for a bath and blow dry??

I do all that (apart from dancing, but we do trick training) with my mini schnauzers, they are a very smart and versatile breed. Some can be yappers, but they generally have owners who allow them to be like that.

I put a pen around the whelping box and covered and pegged it with layers of empty doona covers, top and around, all except the front which I left exposed. Cozy. Worked nicely and kept the drafts out. Yes, that is what I do with mine, but I tend to have litters in the cooler end of the UK year, not have to contend with a hot Oz summer, so would that make a difference to how 'wrapped up' the whelping area is?

Yes, sell them unregistered. If they can only go as desexed pets anyway, then a bit of paper isn't going to make any difference to their future. I would also be telling pup owners and have on my website the reason why the pups can't be registered is due to the SDO holding the breeder to ransom with terms they didn't bother to mention before the mating happened.

I have a dog who does that too, after each meal he will come over to me and put his front paws on my leg and wag his tail. I'm not allowed to hug him back, he just likes me to acknowledge his thanks!

eyes open and starting to escape the box and scream like a seagull being murdered - well one of the boys is doing this every time mum leaves for a minute! Mine will get wormed at 3 weeks old.
-
Mine don't really bother to do any digging, so don't take that as a sign of things not happening!

I use DE around the house instead of sprays or flea bombs, also dust in under the dog bedding. I have found it can be a bit drying on the skin when used as flea control on the dog.

I'd have the litter and tell the stud owner to take their pick and sign the papers by then or they will be sold as pets and they won't be getting any stud fee or puppy.

What Is The Most Popular Colour In Your Breed?
becks replied to Esky the husky's topic in General Dog Discussion
giant schnauzers - black is the most popular std and mini - pepper and salt is the most popular, although the black standards are catching up fast in the last couple of years -
That reminds me of an advert placed in the dog press (full page) mentioning a particular well known handler from europe and his 'famous green shoes' and I've seen other handlers who have distinctive footwear - got to catch the judges eye as they look at the dogs!
-
from the completely black picture? Thinners have teeth on either one or both sides of the scissors.
-
I think they like the security of the 'cave' more so then the openess of a whelping box
-
I am unclear on this, what was going to happen to the pups? The SDO gets pick and the bitch owner only gets to keep a desexed pet??
-
Surely you have those the wrong way around??

Aside from the bitey issues, this dog could be stripped in under 2 hours and finished in breed style/bath - the coat should be practically dropping out if it hasn't been touched for a year. If the coat isn't strippable, then it can be clipped just explain this to owner before taking dog.

Had a scan done on due day and vet said maybe 3, she had 6 and didn't really look pregnant, just a bit of a milk bar. This litter were carried really high up.

I would look for a gentle/care slicker, something like a Doggyman - worth paying for good quality that won't be scratchy on the skin.

Eardrops For A Bloodhound Who Hates Them
becks replied to MsKatie's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
To help ear health, you could try 'Thornit' powder, if you can get it there, otherwise, the Biogroom ear powder is a weaker version of the active ingredients -
Nice to see the 2 red heads together!

Some sad news, one of the pups wasn't thriving and failed to put on much weight from birth, yesterday she gave up the fight to stay here, so Amber is left with her 5.

Try a nappy soak solution
